Nindies Summer Showcase + Nindies@Night 2017: various games announced and/or showcased

Today, Nintendo streamed their second Nindies Showcases (following the one in February, which was pretty well received), announcing and showcasing plenty of indie games coming to Nintendo Switch (but also Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS). If you missed this Nindies Summer Showcase, no problem, the full recording is available on YouTube!

On this page, we’re going to round up all the various announcements from the Nindies Summer Showcase and the Nindies@Night, with links to separate posts for the games that do get them!

Here’s the various announcements from this Nindies Summer Showcase:

Mom Hid My Game

Mom Hid My Game is a Puzzle / Room Escape Game, where you need to get back the game consoles that were confiscated by your mom. Is it inside the chest, on the shelf, or under the sofa? It’s up to you to find out! In every level, you have to use various items to find your precious consoles.

Here’s the key features:

  • Easy-going and funny 50 levels with a room escape style
  • Hints obtainablethrough a mini game with cards
  • Some new levels added

The game will be released on New Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch (compatible with all 3 game modes), sometime in November in Japan, and December in Europe and North America. The Upcoming Games page has been updated!

Golf Story

During the Nindies Summer Showcase, it was announced that Golf Story (that we previously covered in this post) would be released in September in Europe and North America.

Next Up Hero

Next Up Here was showcased during the Nindies Summer Showcase, but nothing really new was revealed. Click here for details about the game!

Nine Parchments is one of the games that was showcased during the Nindies Summer Showcase, but nothing really new was shown or announced.

Away: Journey to the Unexpected

Away: Journey to the Unexpected wasn’t showcased during the Nindies Summer Showcase itself, but we did get a new trailer and some pictures:

Blade Strangers

Blade Strangers wasn’t showcased during the Nindies Summer Showcase itself, but we did get some new screenshots:

Flat Heroes

Flat Heroes wasn’t showcased during the Nindies Summer Showcase, and didn’t get a new trailer either, but it did get a few new screenshots!

Hollow Knight

Hollow Knight wasn’t showcased during the Nindies Summer Showcase, and didn’t get a new trailer either, but it did get a few new screenshots!

Hollow Knight (Switch – eShop) comes out in Q4 2017 in Europe and North America, and Q1 2018 in Japan.

Huntdown

Huntdown wasn’t showcased during the Nindies Summer Showcase, and didn’t get a new trailer either, but it did get a few new screenshots!

Huntdown (Switch – eShop) does not have a release date yet.

Pocket Rumble

Pocket Rumble wasn’t showcased during the Nindies Summer Showcase, and didn’t get a new trailer either, but it did get a few new screenshots!

Pocket Rumble (Switch – eShop) will be released in Q3 2017.

Rogue Trooper Redux

Rogue Trooper Redux wasn’t showcased during the Nindies Summer Showcase, and didn’t get a new trailer either, but it did get a few new screenshots!

Rogue Trooper Redux (Switch – eShop) will be released this year worldwide.

Unbox: Newbie’s Adventure

Unbox: Newbie’s Adventure wasn’t showcased during the Nindies Summer Showcase, and didn’t get a new trailer either, but it did get a few new screenshots!

Unbox: Newbie’s Adventure (Switch – eShop) comes out before the end of the year in Europe and North America.
