Upcoming Nintendo Maintenance (Nintendo Switch, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, Mobile)

Starting today, we are changing the way we report on maintenance for the various Nintendo online services. Instead of posting separate posts for each day, we will keep on updating one single post (this one!) as more maintenance is announced and completed. Of course, we will push it on the front page each time, and send a notice via Twitter and Facebook for those of you who don’t visit the website on a regular basis.

Current incident:

All online services are functioning properly at the moment. Make sure to let us know if you notice anything wrong on your end, and we will investigate to see what’s up!

I’ve been waiting almost 11 hrs for the eshop to be back online. At first Nintendo said 5pm pacific time then 7pm now 8pm. I’ve spoken to 4 Nintendo reps and no one knew what was going on and gave me the worst customer experience I’ve ever had. I’ve been a loyal Nintendo follower but now I regret buy this DS console that I can’t even use. You suck Nintendo

You do realize they don’t know exactly when they’ll fix it right? Impatient as heck.

Nintendo says their maintenance is over but I’ve been trying to play Animal Crossing for twelve hours now and I still can’t connect to my friends. I’ve already screwed up getting a petition signed. I reallyyyy don’t need this right now.

Well thats not true. A lot of people are getting a 006-0612 error after the last maintenance which was like a week a go. T-T Its horrible everything was working properly then the “fixed” it with the maintenance.

Well, the problems some people have been having is that they can’t connect to Hubs in Monster Hunter Generations, there was no problems before the previous maintenance but after that these problems appeared. And I assure you that there is nothing wrong on our side of things, the problem lies in Nintendo’s side but damn if they are gonna fix it, no, because not everyone has this problem so why bother? Am I right Nintendo or am I right?

Sincerely, a bunch of pissed off customers.

My Nintendo Eshop on my Nintendo Switch is still “undergoing maintenance” and it was supposedly supposed to end 18 minutes ago!!! UGHHHHHHHH!!!!

    • 6 April 2017 at 12 h 05 min

Yes, the maintenance was extended by more than 1h. It usually ends before the announced end time, but it was really lengthy this time around. Unfortunately, I wasn’t around to edit the post, sorry : /

  • 4 April 2017 at 3 h 28 min

Any idea when the maintenance will be over? I was under the assumption it was to be finished by 9:00 p.m. EST – it’s now 9:30 p.m. and I still am unable to download my game I purchased. Thanks! :)

Hey Nintendo, Ive been trying to play Monster Hunter Generations online for at least 2 weeks now with no access! I see these server times and dates, but that means nothing when there is zero online access. Please get these servers back up! Thanks!

    • 6 April 2017 at 15 h 38 min

Hey Nintendo! The servers are back up! Wow! Thats so sick! Finally Im back in the game! Thanks Nintendo! Happy Hunting!

Yeah, still nothing. You know, this would be so much more better if Nintendo even acknowledged this problem exists and gave us information that they are investigating it but since that is a no and a small group of people actually suffer from this have stopped complaining about it because to them it seems Nintendo does not care and they will never fix it. There is still stuff in the Nintendo Support Forums about this, our Internet is fine, did try all the fixes on support pages, nothing worked and problems started with that one maintenance period. Yet still no fix in sight, it has been a goddamn month. What on earth did you do to your servers that certain people can’t play online with the networks they use? No other company has this problem, just Nintendo, so there us nothing wrong on our side of things, just them and they are not apparently going to fix it… It is going to be Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the Wii U all over again… Can’t play with others, great, just great… Even I feel like giving up, just forget Monster Hunter Generations ever existed and just play other games and let the New3DS I have to gather dust because it seems more useful as a paperweight right now than a gaming system. And yes, I am upset, who wouldn’t be? Just check the Nintendo Support Forums, for the error code 006-0612 on Monster Hunter Generations, there are new posts about that and we have done everything we can do to try solve it…

    • 30 April 2017 at 15 h 27 min

Nope, still nothing. I even checked my modem settings and gave my 3DS to pass through my firewall again just in case but really, there is nothing wrong on my end. Your server is currently just keeping people out from playing together, due to the type of Internet thy use. I really get the idea that Nintendo don’t know what they are doing with their servers, what sort of heinous server maintenance stops certain people from getting into an online game with others? And why can’t you fix it? Are our network types and your servers now incompatible with each other? Even when I did get the newest tech on wireless Internet available in my country… I would have to move into another place entirely if I want a physical Internet, and we all know I am not going to do that for just one game company’s online play to be “unlocked”.

  • 16 May 2017 at 22 h 37 min

Nothing has been fixed yet, yeah… Right now I can only have theories on what might be the problem, as a lot of others complain they can’t use their phones as hotspots to connect to a game anymore and I use a mobile Internet as my entire apartment’s Internet. Is this because a mobile Internet can only have its NAT type as low as Moderate? So your servers only allow people with Open NAT types in? Sigh…

    • 19 May 2017 at 20 h 57 min

Still nothing, sigh… I’ll come back after another month has passed. I will be sure to share my experiences with other people in the meantime, because this situation is inexcusable. I can understand a few days of problems, even a week, but this? Not acceptable, this is not how this should be but it just is at least with you and only with you.
