Runner3 delayed to Q1 2018, new trailer and latest screenshots

Last week, the Nindies Summer Showcase and Nindies@Night events allowed us to find out about plenty of new games coming to the Nintendo Switch. But it was also the occasion for indies to share some (long-awaited) updates about previously announced games… such as a certain Runner3, for example!

Unfortunately, Choice Provisions had some bad news to share: Runner3 was originally supposed to be released this year, but it’s been delayed to Q1 2018. Then again, if someone were to argue this isn’t really bad news at all, they would be right: this delay means that the developers are willing to take the time to make sure it’s of the highest quality possible.

But announcing a delay isn’t the only thing Choice Provisions did last week: they also shared a brand new trailer and some screenshots!

If, for some reason, you’ve never heard about Runner3, here’s what it’s all about:

Runner3, the latest entry in the BIT.TRIP series, follows the continuing adventures of CommanderVideo and all his creepy friends. The Timbletot is determined as ever to rid the multiverse of all its love and happiness. CommanderVideo, a lover if ever ther e were one, refuses to let this happen. He’s ready to jump, double-jump, wall-jump, slide-jump, underwear-jump, slide, kick, float, fly, and dance his way to victory, all across a medley of thrilling, challenging, and joyous levels.

And here’s the key features:

  • The rhythm-music gameplay of BIT.TRIP RUNNER and Runner2 is back and better than ever!
  • Runner3 introduces several new additions to the series, including: Hero quests, vehicle sequences, branching paths, an item shop, new collectibles, and more!
  • Defeat the Timbletot and return the multiverse to a place of peace, love, and headcheese!

Runner3 (Switch – eShop) will be released in Q1 2018 in Europe and North America.
