First of all, thank you for checking out this page. It doesn’t matter if you came here simply out of curiosity, or if you’re really interested in helping us out: the very fact that you’re here reading this means a lot to us.

We need your help

The reason we opened this page is because we need your help. Right now, we do have several people on our team, but only one full-time writer: myself (Lite Agent). A significant amount of time is spent working on the website (writing posts, updating pages, etc.), pretty much every week day, including on public holidays.

However, this does not include a significant amount of extra time spent every day looking up for news / sources, covering special events (such as E3, or Nintendo Direct), and more. This is often done at odd hours (very early in the morning, or in the middle of the night), and more and more often during week-ends.

Short story short: Perfectly Nintendo is, for me, a full-time commitment.

What’s wrong?

Our current problem is not the amount of work or time spent working on the website (far from it: we enjoy every single minute of it), but rather how much the website allows us to earn. Right now, ad revenue is ridiculously low (it literally took us months to get our first payment). So low that even getting a part-time job to help compensate would not be nearly enough. The only thing it would do is reduce the amount of free time to work on content for the website.

This would not be an option either, as I personally want to work full time on the website, and provide the best coverage (humanly) possible. I have been writing about the video game industry, and Nintendo in particular, for almost 11 years. Being an active part of it all, not just a passive fan, is something that I have been wanting to do for a long time, and something that I am not ready to give up on.

While it definitely sounds a bit (lot?) pretentious, our aim is to make Perfectly Nintendo a reference for Nintendo-related news and content. We’re quite aware we’re nowhere near that status, but with your support, we will strive to turn that pretentious statement into reality.

It’s for this very reason that we need your help. There’s actually several ways you can do so, and not all of them involve spending money.

I want to help, and I speak Japanese!

Do you speak Japanese? Interested in doing some translations for us? Please make sure to drop us a line, as we need your help to improve our news coverage, but also post content that is not available anywhere else.

I want to help, but I have Adblock enabled!

In that case, please disable it. We’re not going to chastise or guilt-trip you for using Adblock. But if you really want to help, just a couple of a clicks in your browser can really do the difference.

Over 50% of our visitors happen to use Adblock or a similar plug-in. That’s perfectly understandable. We also hate ads, and would get rid of them the second it became possible for us to keep going without them. Their baleful influence on online content is deeply regrettable, as they lead to many practices that only lowers the quality of content online. Any positive aspect about them is immediately offset by too many negatives ones.

Quite frankly, the web would be a much better place without them. Unfortunately, Adblock only hides them, and doesn’t remove them altogether. It’s the web browsing equivalent of an ostrich putting its head in the ground.

So if you want to help, please disable Adblock until we’ve found a way to make Perfectly Nintendo at 100% ad-free place.

I want to help, but I don’t have money to donate!

If you want to help, but don’t have the means / don’t want to donate money, no need to worry. Here’s what you can do:

  • send us feedback: tell us what you like, don’t like, would like to see more/less of, etc. While we can’t promise we will answer to every request, we will do our best to take your feedback into account, and make your experience on Perfectly Nintendo worthwile;
  • don’t hesitate to share links to our articles on social networks, forums, etc.. Every single click and retweet counts, and we’re not just talking about money: spreading the word about Perfectly Nintendo is probably as important (if not more important) than ad revenue or even donations. But when sharing our stuff, don’t forget to mention the original source (even if it’s not in English), and properly credit them too! We always mention the source in our posts, so check out the bottom of the page to find it;

I want to help, and I want to give you some money

If you want to help, and if you have money to spare, you can help us by donating via PayPal. You can either have a one time donation, or a recurring one. Just make sure you keep in mind the usual PayPal fees, so avoid too small amounts (>1€) that would result in you giving money to PayPal and not us.

If you chose to make a recurring donation, here’s how you can cancel it (at any time):

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Click Profile near the top of the page.
  3. Select My money.
  4. In the My preapproved payments section, click Update.
  5. Select the merchant whose agreement you want to cancel (Perfectly Nintendo) and click Cancel.
  6. Click Cancel Profile to confirm your request.

I want to help, have some money to spare, but don’t want to donate directly!

In that case, why not make a purchase at one of the websites listed below? We will receive a small commission on all purchases, and you don’t even have to donate anything: you’re simply buying something you already wanted in the first place. Our favorite option!
