Splatoon: new map to be added in a few hours (Museum d’Alfonsino)

When Nintendo detailed the first major Software update for Splatoon, in July, they made it pretty clear that new content (maps and weapons) for Splatoon would still be added to the game on a regular basis. The point is obviously to keep players interested, so that they keep on playing without getting bored with the same weapons and maps.

Splatoon 1Since the Ver. 2.0.0 update, new additions have been taking place only once a week (on Saturday morning / Friday evening, most of the time), as opposed to twice a week before the update. But this week is a bit different, as we are going to get two content updates instead of just one. The first one was the new weapon (the Neo Sploosh-o-matic), yesterday. The second one is a new map, to be added in a few hours.

The map in question is called Museum d’Alfonsino. It hasn’t been announced yet, but according to SplatNet (Nintendo’s web app for Splatoon, with friend list, map rotation details and more), it will be available as a Regular Battle and Splat Zones map in a few hours. Therefore, there’s no doubt it will be announced during the Nintendo Direct this evening!

Since the map will be available from November 13th at 3:00 a.m. (CET) to 7:00 a.m. (CET), it’s basically guaranteed it will be added to the game tomorrow morning at:

  • Europe: 3AM
  • UK: 2AM
  • North America (EDT): 10PM (Thursday evening)
  • North America (DPT): 7PM (Thursday evening)
  • Japan: 11AM

SplatoonThis new map will most likely be announced during the Nintendo Direct later today, which guaranteed that Splatoon will be showcased there. However, we don’t know yet if this is the only Splatoon-related announcement Nintendo will have during the presentation.
