Splatoon: new weapon to be added in a few hours (Neo Sploosh-o-matic)

When Nintendo detailed the first major Software update for Splatoon, in July, they made it pretty clear that new content (maps and weapons) for Splatoon would still be added to the game on a regular basis. The point is obviously to keep players interested, so that they keep on playing without getting bored with the same weapons and maps.

Since the Ver. 2.0.0 update, new additions have been taking place only once a week (on Saturday morning / Friday evening, most of the time), as opposed to twice a week before the update. That being said, this week might be different, as Nintendo will release an additional weapon on Wednesday (Tuesday evening for North America) instead of this week-end. Will we also get a new weapon/map this Saturday? If not, why the sudden change in schedule?

The new weapon is from the Shooters family: the Neo Sploosh-o-matic. Basically, it’s a custom Sploosh-o-matic with an original emblem on it. It comes with the Point Sensor (Sub Weapon) and the Kraken (Special Weapon), which makes it great for players who are good at flanking their opponents. Indeed, getting close to them is key to using this weapon!
