[N-Direct] The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD announced, Zelda U teased

During yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, confirmed all the rumours that floated around the internet in the past few weeks: yes, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD exists, and it will even be released on March 4th in both Europe and North America. The game is being developed in co-operation with Tantalus.

The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess HDFrom the looks of it, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD is based on the GameCube version (Link is a leftie, and the world isn’t mirrored). However, it’s unclear if the mirrored world will be included (as Hero Mode?), or if the game will be compatible with motions controls like the Wii version.

Besides the updated graphics, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will have some new features, such as amiibo compatiblity. Unfortunately, Nintendo didn’t explain what the amiibo would do, but revealed that you will be able to transfer data toward the next The Legend of Zelda on Wii U. Compatible amiibo include: Link, Zelda, Toon Link, Sheik and Ganondorf.

A new amiibo was also revealed: Wolf Link, who is carrying Midna on his back. The figure will be available separately at a later date, but in both Europe and North America, it will be available as part of a bundle including:

  • the game
  • the Wolf Link amiibo
  • a soundtrack CD (only in Europe, though it will be available as pre-order bonus)

Here’s the trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, with a little teaser for the next The Legend of Zelda Wii U at the end:
