ARMS: all the details, videos, and pictures from the official Twitter account (June 4th to June 11th)

On May 17th/18th, ARMS was showcased during the latest Nintendo Direct presentation, where the Global Testpunch was announced. Shortly after the presentation, the official website was updated: you can click here to check out all the details and pictures!

And also following that presentation, Nintendo increased the frequency of posts on the official Twitter account for the game (only available in Japanese). Just like we’re doing for Splatoon 2, we created this post in order to round up everything that gets posted on that Twitter account: details, screenshots, artworks, etc.. In this post, you will find those for the period going from June 4th to June 11th!

Previous posts:

June 8th

Over the past few days, Nintendo shared the following:

  • a video clip about charges. Here’s a little tip: the charge state lasts a few seconds, so you don’t have to punch right away. Naturally, the longer the charge, the longer the charge state will last. In fact, the duration of that state changes depending on the character you’re playing with.

  • a video clip of Kid Cobra facing Mechanica in battle, and using the Hydra to deal with her persky jumps;

  • a video clip showcasing the menu that lets you set the rules for lobbies when playing with friend or via local multiplayer. There’s several options for you to choose from, letting you have only regular battles or basketball matches, play on a specific stage, etc…

  • a countdown memo, featuring Helix;
  • an artwork of Kid Cobra;
  • pictures focusing on Spring Man and Ribbon Girl’s clothes
  • a picture and a report from the ARMS Labs. For many, the ARMS ability first appears at night, and most people end up discovering it only when they wake up. In general, it first appears when the person is in their teens, and it has been seen on a person as old as 74 years old. In some extremely rare cases, the ability is already there at birth;
  • an artwork of Spring Man.

June 6th

Today, Nintendo shared the following:

  • a video animation of Ribbon Girl, which was the character with the most wins during the second half of the Global Testpunch (Mechanica came second)

  • a picture and some details about the story. According to researchers, there is proof that the ARMS ability was already a thing about 1 500 years ago. Some experts even go as far as saying that it already existed about 4 000 years ago. What’s more, it looks like that this very unique ability can also be found in animals and plants, not just humans.

June 5th

Over the past few days, Nintendo shared the following:

  • a video clip with three Ribbon Girls getting ready for the Global Testpunch (not over)

  • a video clip of Twintelle, showing her using her “aura” even in the air, which certainly gives her an advantage. If you learn how to use that “aura” well, your opponents will have a hard time landing punches!

  • a video clip of Skillshot, showing that hitting your opponent does count as a combo. Not only does it allows you to both your opponents, but you can also increase your combo count… one stone, two birds!

  • a video clip of Ninjara and Twintelle, the two most popular characters during the second half of the Global Testpunch

  • a screenshot of Headlock, one of the experiments from the ARMS Labs. It got away, and attacked other players during the second half of the Global Testpunch!
  • a picture of a cute memo from Biff;
  • a picture showing the characters that were playable during the second half of the Global Testpunch;
  • a screenshot of the one and only Twintelle;
  • a screenshot of multicoloured Helix;
  • a screenshot of Spring Man;
  • a screenshot of the Item Helicopter: a small drone-like device that drops various items on the field during battle (such as a bomb, health, etc.). You can disable that in the settings in the full version;
  • another screenshot of Headlock, along with some details. When it latches on a fighter’s head, it brainwashes them, and forces them to do its bidding. If you do not manage to defeat it within 99 seconds, it flees;
  • a screenshot of all the fighters that took part in the Global Testpunch;
  • a special illustration to thank fans for participating in the Global Testpunch;
  • a special illustration and details about the mask all fighters wear. It turns out that mask is the one that allows the fighters’ arms to remain all springy. If you remove it, your arms go back to normal.

ARMS (Switch) will be released on June 16th worldwide.
