Another Code: Recollection – Where to find the Folded Cranes in R: A Journey Into Lost Memories

While exploring the beautiful area of Lake Juliet in the R: A Journey Into Lost Memories part of Another Code: Recollection on Nintendo Switch, you will come across some curious Folded Cranes. Those were left there by Richard Robins, Ashley’s father.

If you scan them with the camera of your DAS, you get to unlock special messages from Richard. Those are not mandatory to finish the game, but do provide some additional story details about Lake Juliet, J.C Valley, the various characters, more.

Those Folded Cranes are often hiding in plain sight, but some can be a bit tricky to find. That’s why we created this post, where we’ve listed the location of all 9 Folded Cranes in the R: A Journey Into Lost Memories part of Another Code: Recollection.

But first, a couple of tips for players who want to try and find them on their own:

• In the message list, selecting a message will highlight the place where you can find the Folded Crane on the map to the right.
• You have to search every nook and cranny (literally!) to find the Folded Cranes, as some are located in some not immediately obvious spots.
• all Folded Cranes are meant to be found in the same order the game has you explore each area
• remember, the Folded Cranes were left behind by Richard, which means they’re only found in places either directly related to him, or places he is likely to have visited (therefore, don’t bother looking in someone else’s house!)
• 4 of the Folded Cranes are located in the Lake Juliet area, while the rest is located in JC Valley. Important note: the 5 Folded Cranes in J.C. Valley can only be scanned while in J.C. Valley, which means it’s entirely possible to miss them. Make sure you have scanned them all before you proceed with the story! The first 4 can be obtained during the Epilogue, so don’t sweat it if you miss one!

Folded Crane #1

Located in the Guesthouse. You will find it on the table, located immediately to your left upon entering. Look between the Pamphlets and the Potted Plant!

Folded Crane #2

Located in Richard’s Room, on the second floor of Richard’s Cottage (in the Cottage Area). You will find it on Dad’s Desk, immediately in front of you upon entering.

Folded Crane #3

Located in Rex’s Room, on the first floor of Elizabeth’s Cottage (in the Cottage Area). You will find it on the table in front of the desk.

Folded Crane #4

Located on the counter in Bob’s Food Hut (in the Cottage Area). You will find it by the side of the Beer Tap.

Folded Crane #5

Located in Rex’s Office, in J.C. Valley (Basement, 2nd Floor). You will find it in the bottom right corner of the room.

Folded Crane #6

Located in Lab C / Room 202, in J.C. Valley (Basement, 2nd Floor). You will find it sitting on one of two Boxes of Junk located to the left of the room (in front of the desk).

Folded Crane #7

Located in Lab B / Room 201, in J.C. Valley (Basement, 2nd Floor). You will find it on the desk on the left (the one with the fishing equipment), just behind the laptop.

Folded Crane #8

Located in the Lounge / Room 104, in J.C. Valley (Basement, 1st Floor). You will find it by the bowl of candies on the table right in front of you upon entering.

Folded Crane #9

Located in Room 103 in J.C. Valley (Basement, 1st Floor). You will find it sitting on top a cardboard box on the right side of the room, to the left of the Cabinet.
