Azure Striker Gunvolt: over 130 000 downloads on Nintendo 3DS

Azure Striker Gunvolt was released last month on Steam, but the Nintendo 3DS version is still selling at a slow but steady pace. A couple of days ago, Inti Creates announced on Twitter that the game had been downloaded over 130 000 times in Japan, Europe and North America, which means 10 000 additional downloads since June.

Talking about the Nintendo 3DS version of Azure Striker Gunvolt, it will soon get a major update. It will add the Japanese voice mode that the PC version launched with, in August. It will allow players to chose Japanese for the in-game voices, and it will come with several changes:

  • the game’s script has been entirely re-translated, in order to fit with the Japanese voices. Japanese references to things such as takoyaki and tokusatsu shows are kept;
  • all the dialogues will be available in Japanese, from the mid-stage conversations to the chats with Joule;
  • you will be able to enable/disable the mid-stage conversations at any time
  • you will be able to select “Japanese voice mode” from the Languages settings, before starting the game.

Unfortunately, even though this update was announced a little while ago, we still do not know when it will be released. The developers explain that adding the Japanese voices mode to the Nintendo 3DS version was not as easy as flipping a switch, so they will need some time to make sure everything works properly.
