Etrian Odyssey V to be released on Nintendo 3DS?

Etrian Odyssey VEtrian Odyssey V was initially announced during a livestream for Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight, back in November 2014. Back then, only a short teaser was revealed, and no platform was mentioned. And in January, Shigeo Komori (Director) explained that the game was in its final stages, and that details would be revealed in the near future.

Today, a survey by Atlus (linked on the official website) may have accidently revealed the platform Etrian Odyssey V is for: the Nintendo 3DS. As spotted by Gematsu, the survey lists the game as being on Nintendo 3DS, even though Atlus hasn’t made any announcement yet. It looks like Atlus the company tasked to make the survey jumped the gun on this one!

Etrian Odyssey V listIt really wouldn’t be too surprising that the game ended up on the Nintendo 3DS, since the series has always sticked to Nintendo handheld’s ever since the first entry (which is mostly due to the dual-screen gameplay, with mapping).

Since the fanbase is already on Nintendo 3DS (which already has 5 Etrian Odyssey games, if you count the Etrian Mystery Dungeon spin-off and Persona Q), it wouldn’t be farfetched to claim that Atlus is developing Etrian Odyssey V for that platform.

Atlus should make an announcement regarding Etrian Odyssey V within the next few weeks
