Don’t Starve: Nintendo Switch Edition

Earlier this week, Klei announced Don’t Starve: Nintendo Switch Edition, releasing… next week, in Europe and North America. This version includes the base game, but also the Reign of Giants and Shipwrecked expansions, and costs $19.99 / 19.99€.

Here’s all you need to know about the game:

In Don’t Starve: Nintendo Switch Edition, You play as Wilson, an intrepid Gentleman Scientist who has been trapped by a demon and transported to a mysterious wilderness world. Enter a bizarre and unexplored world full of strange creatures, dangers, and surprises. Learn to exploit the environment and its inhabitants to escape and find your way back home.

If you’re ready for a new challenge, Reign of Giants expands the entire world of Don’t Starve with new characters, seasons, creatures, biomes, and other challenges to Don’t Starve.

If you’re looking for adventures at sea, Shipwrecked will set you off to explore a mysterious new tropical archipelago that you can explore on both land and sea! Don’t let the tropical breeze lull you into a false sense of security – the world might be different, but it is still equal parts unforgiving and uncompromising.

Do whatever it takes to survive, but most importantly, Don’t Starve!

Finally, here’s some screenshots:

Firewatch

Earlier this week, Campo Santo announced they were bringing Firewatch to the Nintendo Switch. Here’s what they had to say about this port:

When will it be out? All we can say is “soon!” Reengineering the sprawling meadows and towering trees of Firewatch’s wilderness to play perfectly on new hardware is no small engineering task. We’ve been hard at work stripping much of Firewatch’s tech down to the studs and rebuilding it to render the world more quickly, to stream and load faster, and to generally be more responsive. Nearly everyone in the Campo Santo office has a Nintendo Switch (and the rest want one). We know what a good Switch game feels like, and want to make sure Firewatch feels like one too.

Plus, we’re hoping to throw in a couple surprises just for the Switch release.

In this cult manager, there are sinners aplenty and not all are eager to confess. Each member of your community has 2 hidden traits – one virtuous, one heretical. If you’ve earned the favor of their House, you may investigate their reputation. Otherwise, you may appoint them to your seasonal council and watch their work for clues. Includes the Sunken Sins DLC, launched December 2017.

  • Choose a victim to sacrifice every season
  • Balance power across 5 political families
  • Randomly assigned secret virtues and vices
  • Purge the sinners!
