Today’s Super Mario Maker #19, DLC costume announced for Japan

With just a couple of hours left until release in Europe and North America, Nintendo is still going with its Today’s Super Mario Maker series, launched last month. Every day, the company is going to highlight a particular element from the game, via videos, screenshots, etc..

For Today’s Super Mario Maker, Nintendo uploaded not one, but two videos for Super Mario Maker. The first one shows how you can search for courses to play in the game. First, you need to select “Play” in the main menu, and then the second option. You then reach a screen with three options available:

  • the first one is for the 100 Mario challenge, with three levels of difficulty available: Easy, Normal, and Hard. This is where you unlock new costumes for Costume Mario.
  • the second one allows you to check the latest courses uploaded. You can search for the most recent courses, the most popular, etc.. You can even check out the percentage of people who downloaded and managed to beat each level.
  • the second option is for online ranking, with the most popular creators.

Here’s the video:

Head after the break for the second video!

The second video is basically a launch trailer for Super Mario Maker:

DLC Costume

Will Super Mario Maker get DLC? The answer is Yes… in Japan at least! In its latest issue, Famitsu magazine reveals that its mascot (Nekki) will soon get its own costume. Unfortunately, that’s all we know for now, and more details will be revealed at a later date. Will this costume also be available outside Japan? Will Nintendo release more costumes for the game? We should have the answer to these two questions within the upcoming days/weeks!

As bonus, here’s the recording on Nintendo UK’s livestream with Playtonic Games:
