Today’s Pokémon news: Halloween event now live in Pokémon GO, but also…

Pokémon GO

Yesterday, the latest event for Pokémon GO went live. As expected, this one is all about Halloween, and it runs until November 1st 1PM PT / 4PM / 8PM BST / 9PM CEST / November 2nd 5AM JST.

During this event, spooky Pokémon of the Ghost and Dark types originally discovered in the Sinnoh region (such as Drifloon, Shiny Drifloon, and Stunky) will appear, and Pokémon of those types appear more frequently. You will also be able to get double Candy for every Pokémon caught, because everyone knows Halloween is all about candies (as stipulated by Splatfest Law).

But that’s not all: there’s also some limited-time Special Research to tackle to unlock Spiritomb, alongside Field Research involving Ghost and Dark-type Pokémon. And if you want to add Giratina (the Renegade Pokémon) to your team, you’re in luck: it’s now appearing in Raid Battles until 1PM PT / 4PM / 9PM BST / 10PM CEST / November 2nd 5AM JST!

And there’s still more…For a limited time, Halloween Pikachu (and Pichu) are spawning again: now is your chance to get it if you haven’t already. This time around, it can also be shiny!

Finally, new avatar items are available in the Style Shop: Drifloon Cap, Gengar Backpack, and more. There’s also some new boxes available for purchase:

• Special Box (480 Coins): Incubator x2, Lucky Egg x1, Premium Raid Pass x3, Star Piece x1
• Great Box (780 Coins): Incense x3, Super Incubator x3, Lucky Egg x3, Premium Raid Pass x7
• Ultra Box (1480 Coins): Incense x6, Super Incubator x10, Lucky Egg x6, Premium Raid Pass x12

And in non-Halloween event news, it has been announced that the second Beldum Community Day for the Asia-Pacific region will take place on October 28th, from 12PM to 3PM JST. This is a repeat event, taking place because of the many issues that plagued the first one last week.

Today, pre-registration for the latest Team Match event went live. The event itself runs from October 26th to October 29th, with rewards available until October 31st.

This time, players have to choose between one of the following teams:

• Giratina
• Mega Banette
• Marshadow

Thanks to this event, you can earn various rewards, including a special Time Booster (Sparkle) which may contain a new figure (Shiny Sylveon).
