Monster Hunter XX: Shogun Ceanataur Deviant and Basarios confirmed

Last week, Monster Hunter XX (Double Cross) was showcased in Famitsu magazine, with a 10-page article detailing new and returning monsters, the 14 new Hunting Skills, and the new skills for the Prowler / Palicoes (click here to check out all the details, if you haven’t already).

And if you thought we would have to wait until February 23rd before the next article, you’re wrong: there will be one in this week’s issue (this was previously announced in last week’s issue). This is not too surprising, as the demo is releasing tomorrow (February 15th) on the Nintendo eShop in Japan, so it makes sense to have additional details about the game during the same week.

Today, the usual previews from Famitsu went live, and the one for Monster Hunter XX confirms that two monsters will be in the game:

  • Basarios (from Monster Hunter). It was already teased in last week’s article, but this time, it’s 100% confirmed!
  • Shogun Ceanataur (from Monster Hunter 2): this monster is getting a Deviant version in this game, and Famitsu will have details about it!

But that’s not all: Famitsu will also have an interview with Shintaro Kojima (Producer), Ichihara Daisuke (Director), and Takuro Hiraoka (Main Planner).

Here’s the preview from Famitsu magazine:

Finally, here’s pictures of Monster Hunter XX badges releasing on March 30th in Japan:

Monster Hunter XX (3DS) comes out on March 18th in Japan. The latest issue of Famitsu magazine will be available on Thursday in Japan.
