The following updates have been implemented for ☆ Taro Misaki’s “Assist Maker” skill in the paid DLC:

  • Effect Adjustment: The effect should work as originally expected.
  • Matchmaking Behavior Adjustment:Matchmaking will now occur normally with event matches.
  • Skill Can be Re-Equipped: Assist Maker will now be equipable again after removing it.

    • In the matchmaking settings for Online Versus, you can now set to match with the CPU instead of by region by removing “Matchmaking Range” from setting
  • Added function to withdraw in Online Versus match
    • You can now withdraw during Online Versus matches
  • Changed the matching system for Division Match
    • When matchmaking for Division Match, you will now be matched with any rating from the start. Along with this, the cost limit has been unified to 1600 for all ratings

  • The Hanawa MS training route will be introduced! Become an ace player and shoot for complete victory in the league!
  • You will join Hanawa MS as a 1st year student and challenge their powerful rivals with the Tachibana twins and other team members at the NHL!
  • Get acrobatic with two of the best aerial soccer players:
    • Kazuo Tachibana: The younger brother of the Tachibana twins, he is the captain of the team. His combination with Masao is outstanding.
    • Masao Tachibana: The older brother of the Tachibana twins. His ranking is equal to that of Kazuo but sometimes he shows his brotherly side.
  • Check out these new skills:
    • Super strength Skylab! What is this new aerial skill? You will be a talented addition to the Skylab Hurricane and develop new skills!
    • Appeal command: Tachibanas’ Scheme – When you select the player, another identical character will appear and you can communicate with him twice as much as usual!

How to download updates for Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions for the Nintendo Switch?

To download the updates for Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions, you have three options:

  • let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated, and didn’t completely turn it off

If not…

  • try to launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;


  • select the game > press either + or – to go to the Options page > select Software update > select Via the Internet.

To check that you have the latest version installed, simply select the game on the Home Menu, and press – or + to go to the Options: the version number is displayed just below the game title.
