Xenoblade Chronicles 3 now releasing on July 29th, new trailer and music track revealed, Collector’s Edition announced

Announced during the Nintendo Direct presentation in February, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was initially slated for a September release. But it turns out players won’t have to wait quite as long before losing themselves in the sprawling world of Aionios: Nintendo have just announced that the game will now release (almost) two months earlier, on July 29th to be precise!

To celebrate the announcement, Nintendo shared a brand new trailer for the game. This one gives us a good look at the battle system, along with some rather intense story cutscenes.

Here’s the second trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (English and Japanese versions):

In Japan, the official website was also launched. It allows us to listen to a music track that appears to be the main theme of the game, as it features the flute-based melody mentioned in Tetsuya Takahashi’s introduction message:

Not all sections of the website are open at the moment, but there’s already some footage of the game to check out.

Here’s a video featuring all video clips available as of writing (NB: no sound after the first 24 seconds):

Interested in getting the game? It’s now available for digital pre-order on the Nintendo eShop worldwide. If you’re more of a physical person, Nintendo have announced the game is getting a Collector’s Edition (called Special Edition in North America).

It includes the following:

  • a copy of the game
  • a Steelbook
  • an Artbook
  • a special box

It appears that this edition will only be available via the MyNintendo Store of each region (Europe + Australia/New Zealand, North America, Japan), with Japan getting two variants:

It’s not clear whether they will also be available for purchase in Europe and/or North America too.

Finally, if you happen to live in North America (or have a Nintendo Account set to that region) and want to check out the previous Xenoblade Chronicles games on Nintendo Switch, a special offer is now live on the Nintendo eShop. Until May 2nd, you can get double the usual amount of Gold Coins if you buy any of the Xenoblade Chronicles games/DLC listed on this page. A good way to catch up with the series before the relese of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 this July!

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (Switch) comes out on July 29th worldwide.
