Helheim Hassle

Perfectly Paranormal have announced their latest game for the Nintendo Switch: Helheim Hassle, a body-puzzle platformer releasing in Europe and North America “early this year”.

Here’s a trailer, some details, and some screenshots for the game:

Helheim Hassle is a narrative adventure game that is as much about friendship as it is about body parts. From the same universe (and set on the same Tuesday in fact) as previous hit Manual Samuel, comes this macabre adventure where you play as Bjørn, a pacifist viking who hates the idea of dying and going to Valhalla… who then ends up dying and getting taken to Valhalla. When Bjørn is resurrected to assist with a task for the mysterious Pesto, he sees a way to negotiate his way out. Using Bjørn’s undying corpse with its ability to detach and combine limbs at will, players must solve challenging puzzles and navigate tricky levels in order to retrieve a certain magical item… In return, Pesto will try to grant Bjørn a permanent residence in Helheim – what a hassle!

Helheim Hassle is a narrative adventure game tasking players with completing up to 70 quests over 14 levels, requiring the use of all manner of different body part combos to complete the game’s unique puzzle platforming challenges. On this adventure, players will come into contact with 80 different characters from all walks of life (and death) ranging from frustrated god souls, bear ghosts, dragons, elves, dwarves and blue-collar goblins; all voiced by 24 professional voice actors delivering 3,700 lines of spoken dialogue!

Underhero

Digerati have announced their latest game for the Nintendo Switch: Underhero, a colourful 2D RPG-platformer by Paper Castle. It will be released on February 13th in Europe and North America, with a 20% off discount at launch.

Here’s a trailer, some details, and the list of key features:

The debut game from Venezuelan studio Paper Castle, Underhero is inspired by Paper Mario (among many other RPGs) and offers its own oddball spin on RPG adventures with a special timing-based combat system, old-school platforming fun, a quirky cast of characters, and a lighthearted story about an unlikely hero on an unforgettable journey to save a kingdom.

Underhero turns the hero journey on its head, casting players in the role of an underling who begrudgingly embarks on a perilous quest. Aided by a magical companion, the accidental adventurer must purge all evil from the Chestnut Kingdom.

Underhero is an RPG-platformer where the chosen hero has failed, and an underling of the evil king reluctantly takes his place as the new hero. Use timing-based combat to defeat enemies as you venture across the land, face off against quirky bosses, and save the Chestnut Kingdom from your own evil boss, Mr Stitches!

  • A side-scrolling RPG adventure, complete with lush pixel art and cartoony aesthetics
  • Jump, slash, evade, talk, and bribe your way through a fantasy adventure with a satirical twist
  • Turn-based combat… without the turns! Precisely timed actions are your most powerful weapons
  • Level up, solve puzzles, find secrets in a world full of friends, foes, and weird inhabitants
  • A wonderful original soundtrack composed by Stijn van Wakeren
  • A story full of humor and mysteries awaits!

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened

Chromatic Games have announced that Dungeon Defenders: Awakened will now released in Q2 2020 on Nintendo Switch, in Europe and North America. It will offer English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese language options, and will offer cross-save functionality with the PC version at launch.

Here’s the latest trailer and some more details for the game:

As the despicable Old Ones hatch a time-traveling plot to rewrite history and undo the events of the original Dungeon Defenders, the young heroes of Etheria must reunite once again to ward off the forces of evil. Return to this vibrant fantasy world, take up arms, and battle waves of enemies across a collection of all-new arenas and reimagined fan favorites.

Join the fray by forming a team of up to four champions and choose between as many playable characters (with more to come after launch). Each hero possesses their own distinct combat style and special abilities. Harness these powers and work together to protect the legendary Eternia Crystals while building defensive fortifications to repel even the most imposing of foes.

Construct strongholds to slow the approaching hordes of orcs, goblins, dark elves, and other monstrosities while unleashing mighty attacks and devastating spells to turn the tide of battle. Survive the onslaught to earn new loot, reliable pet companions, and more customization options to prepare for the fights to come and epic showdowns with new larger-than-life bosses.

Forge a unique arsenal and enjoy countless hours of fast-paced medieval fantasy action across online and local co-op multiplayer matches spanning a legendary campaign with a new story, the progressively challenging Survival Mode, a tactical Pure Strategy Mode, the no-respawns Hardcore Mode, and a chaotic Mixed Mode sure to keep even veteran players on their toes.
