Just Shapes & Beats

Berzerk Studio have announced that Just Shapes & Beats is getting a Shovel Knight mixtape on December 4th. It will feature the following remixes, available in Challenge mode (random), or in the Playlist (to be unlocked with Beat Points):

  • Danimal Cannon – Strike the Earth! (remix)
  • Rainbowdragoneyes – Flowers of Antimony (remix)
  • Kubbi – In the Halls of the Usurper (remix)
  • Shirobon – La Danse Macabre (remix)

On the same day, the game is getting an update that will add amiibo support:

  • Shovel Knight: allows you to unlock the Shovel Knight remixes without using Beat Points
  • any other amiibo: collect 100 Beat Points (once per figure, up to 5 times per day)

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4

Bandai-Namco have clarified that players who pre-order One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 in Europe and North America will get the following bonuses:

  • early unlock of the Vinsmoke Brothers (Ichiji, Niji, and Yonji)
  • 2 exclusive costumes to be revealed at a later date

Also, not just one but 4 different costumes will be distributed for free on launch day:

  • Luffytaro (Luffy)
  • Zorojuro (Zoro)
  • Soba Mask (Sanji)
  • Onami (Nami)

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 (Switch) comes out on March 26th in Japan, and March 27th in Europe and North America.

Space Pioneer

QubicGames have shared some details about Space Pioneer, a “twin-stick, run and gun, RPG lite” developed by Vivid Games and releasing on December 6th in Europe and North America. It’s now available for pre-purchase on the Nintendo eShop for 10€ / $10, with a 50% off discount for players who already any of the previous QubicGames titles released on Nintendo Switch.

Legend of Valkyrie

The latest translated interview from shmuplations are about Legend of Valkyrie, and feature Hiroshi Fujii (Character Designer) and Koakuman (Main Designer). Here’s an except:

—By the way, did you also create personalities for the characters? I don’t get a strong sense of a personality from the Valkyrie character.

Fujii: When I look back it now, Valkyrie has kind of a weird personality. She rushes headlong into danger, thrusting forward with single-minded purpose. And she’s really greedy when it comes to money. (laughs) Of course I’m half-joking, but yeah, she doesn’t really have a clearly defined personality. When we were making the game, we didn’t think about that much. In terms of “personality”, I’d say more than Valkyrie, the supporting cast is more colorful. Xandra, Koakuman (poorly translated as “Quarkman” for the US, which completely loses the “little devil” meaning of koaku), and so forth…
