Nintendo Switch sales (October, US)

Nintendo have sent a press release to announced that last month was the best October to date for the Nintendo Switch in the United States, with no less than 735 926 units sold for the OG and the Lite models combined. That’s +139% Year on Year!

What’s more, it’s the second best performance in October for any video game console, as only the Wii did better with 807 000 units sold in October 2008 (and that was right before the console celebrated its 2nd Anniversary, so earlier in its lifecycle).

With such a strong performance, the Nintendo Switch has been the best-selling video game console in the United States for the 23rd month in a row: that’s more than any other video game consoles in history (ever since NPD started tracking sales numbers, of course).

November may put a stop to that impressive streak, what with the release of the latest consoles from Sony and Microsoft, but there’s no doubt it will be another strong month for the Nintendo Switch.

To date, the Nintendo Switch has sold over 22.5 million units in the United States alone, and over 63 million units worldwide.
