RPG Maker Fes: more details and screens (characters, enemies, events, more)

As announced on Tuesday, RPG Maker is one of the games featured in Famitsu magazine this week. And just like last time, Kadokawa has revealed the latest batch of details and screenshots for the game along with the article (covering more or less the same things).

As mentioned previously, RPG Maker allows you to create your very own RPG, down to very minute details. You can edit various variables and parameters, and that includes the Attribute and Resistance of various items and accessories.

RPG Maker lets you personalise your characters as you see fit: appearance, name, occupation, stats (including general speed, and level), title/class, bio, portrait + character model, equipment, and more. Naturally, the game comes with pre-set characters, that you can chose to edit if you don’t want to spend too long creating characters. Alternatively, you can start from scratch if you prefer!

As for enemies, you can chose among 6 types of Attributes:

  • Fire
  • Water
  • Ground/Rock
  • Wind
  • Light
  • Darkness

The Attribute chart is as follows: Fire > Wind > Rock/Ground > Water. Also: 4 elements > Light > Darkness > 4 elements.

There are 9 types of Resistances:

  • Poison
  • Burn
  • Paralysis
  • Sleep
  • Confusion
  • Silence
  • Blind
  • Slow
  • Death

You can also edit various parameters and variable: stats, name, color, family, attacks, drops (+ drop rates), and more.

Next, we have some advanced settings. If you want to add some spice to battles, you can set up various animations and special effects for attacks.

But what would a RPG be without some events? Naturally, RPG Maker Fes will let you have those too, and actually comes with pre-set ones. You can set character facial “animations”, movements, lines of text, and more (for a total of 10 parameters).  Of course, the game includes events to change your characters” profession, and more.

Finally, to make sure your RPG doesn’t turn into a surreal (or downright broken) experience, you can select the areas of a map characters are allowed to walk in. Basically, this allows you to prevent them from walking into walls, furniture, or obstacles. You can actually use that to place secret entrances, behind a wall or closet for example.

On the screenshots below, the X indicates the areas you cannot go through. Normally, you would put one on the closet, since characters shouldn’t be able to walk into it. That being said, you can manually remove the X on that closet to make it look like you can walk through it.

Finally, here’s the latest batch of screenshots for RPG Maker Fes:
