Nintendo NX: first glimpse of Nintendo’s new gaming platform coming later today
Thursday, October 20th 2016: that’s when Nintendo is finally going to give us a first glimpse at what lies behind the two letters that have been fascinating players for more than a year… the NX. First mentioned by Satoru Iwata in March, during the press conference with DeNa, the NX remains a secret to (almost) everybody…
… but not for much longer! Indeed, Nintendo announced a few hours ago that its new gaming platform would be revealed via a trailer today, at the following time:
- Europe: 4PM
- UK: 3PM
- North America (EST): 10AM
- North America (PST): 7AM
- Japan: 11PM
Right now, it’s not clear exactly what Nintendo will show during this very first official NX presentation. The official website in Europe explains that the trailer will “serve as Nintendo’s preliminary announcement of information regarding the platform”, and will last 3 minutes. Therefore it’s pretty safe to expect the following:
- a look at the console itself
- a brief explain of the main concept behind it
- the final name
- the date of the full presentation
On the other hand, it would be unexpected for Nintendo to reveal the exact release date, the price, or even the launch line-up during this presentation (those will most likely be confirmed closer to launch). Not to mention there’s most likely going to be another presentation within the next few days.
