Pokémon Sun and Moon – Mega Stone distribution

Today, the latest Mega Stone distribution for Pokémon Sun and Moon went live. It allows you to get the following Mega Stones (including some that were previously distributed to players who participated in the 2017 International Challenge April): Sceptilite, Blazikenite, Swampertite, Cameruptite, and Banettite. To get it, you need to use the following Serial Code: “MATSUBUSA”.

There doesn’t seem to be an end date for this distribution (yet), but as usual, it’s highly recommended to redeem the Serial Code as soon as possible. Also, do note that the Mega Stones listed above cannot be used in Rated Battle until July 18th.

Pokémon Sun and Moon – Battle Competition

Today, battles for the latest Battle Competition for Pokémon Sun and Moon went live. It’s called the tiny tourney, and here’s everything you need to know about it:

  • Format: Double Battles, 4 Pokémon per battle;
  • Pokémon restrictions: National Pokédex No. 001 through 801, excluding Pokémon over 1 meter (3’03”) tall;
  • Pokémon banned: Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Diancie, Hoopa, Volcanion, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, Necrozma, and Magearna;
  • Item restrictions: all items allowed except Mega Stone. Two Pokémon cannot be holding the same Hold Item;
  • Level: 1 to 100, but level capped to 50 during battles
  • Registration: June 14th to June 22nd. Participant limit: TBC
  • Battles: June 23rd to June 25th, with a limit of 15 battles/player and /day;
  • Results: announced sometime in July;
  • Participation gift (must complete at least 3 battles): Galladite, Gardevoirite, and Lopunnite Mega Stones.

Pokémon Duel

On Wednesday, a new update for Pokémon Duel was released: it brings the game to Ver. 3.0.11, with quite a lot fo changes and fixes impacting various figures. You can find more details, including detailed patch notes, on this page!

This update also added a new Plate (which works based on Electric-type Pokémon), a new Orange Time Booster (guaranteed to hold Electric or Ground-type Pokémon), and a Sextuple Booster (available for a limited, celebrating the game topping 20 million downloads worldwide).

Pokémon GO

Earlier this week, Niantic released a major update for Pokémon GO. This update brings Raid Battles and various other features to Gyms, which are getting a completely revamp. If you’re interested in seeing those changes for yourself, before the changes are live in your region, here’s a few videos from Famitsu magazine, who has had the opportunity to try it out before everyone else.

Right now, only Level 31+ players can participate in Raid Battles, and only at select Gyms around the world. More Gyms will be added pretty soon, and more players of all levels will be able to participate.

With that new update, a brand new loading screen has been added. If you want to download it in HQ, you can do so from the official Pokémon GO blog!

Also, Niantic has announced that you can now increase the max number of items you can carry around from 1 000 to 1 500, thanks to Bag Upgrades available from the in-game shop.

Pokémon Sun and Moon – Anime

Pokémon TCG

Earlier this week, The Pokémon Company annonced that the latest expansion for the Pokémon TCG, called Pokémon TCG: Sun & Moon—Burning Shadows, would be released on August 4th. It will include over 140 cards, including 12 new Pokémon-GC cards (such as Necrozma-GX, Tapu Fini-GX, Machamp-GX, Charizard-GX, Darkrai-GX, and Ho-Oh-GX).

Here’s everything included in this expansion:

  • Over 140 cards
  • 12 new Pokémon-GX
  • 6 new full-art Supporter cards featuring important human characters
