Pokémon GO news (April 10): Lucky Friend / Avatar Poses / Eggstravaganza
Today’s Pokémon GO news: Lucky Friends system now live, Avatar Poses now available, and latest Eggstravaganza event announced!
Lucky Friends
Yesterday, a new gameplay system went live: Lucky Friends. When you’re Lucky Friends with somone, the next time you trade with them, both Pokémon will become Lucky.
To become Lucky Friends, you need:
- to become Best Friends
- do any of the following:
- do a trade
- open a Gift from each other
- team up in Raids and Gym Battles
- Challenge each other to a Trainer Battle
NB: you get once chance per day!
When you become Lucky Friends, you get a notification, and you can check out your friend status in your friend list and on your friend’s profile page.
The catch is: you only become Lucky Friends temporarily. Once you have made a trade, and received a Lucky Pokémon as a result, you go back to being “just” Best Friends. Of course, you can become Lucky Friends again, though as mentioned above, it can only be done once a day.
Avatar poses
The latest update for the game introduces Avatar Poses: those let you customise how your Trainer is posed on your Trainer Profile, in the Friends List, in Raid lobbies, in Gyms, and in battle previews. Of course, avatar poses can be used with both male and female avatars, and you get it for both when you buy one.
Eggstravaganza
Another event was announced yesterday, and it’s the latest Eggstravaganza event! While it’s running, you will be able to get Pichu, Smoochum, and Magby from 2km Eggs, and there will be Egg-focused Field Research tasks to complete. Also, hatching Eggs will net you some bonus Candy. Finally, Buneary will show up during this event, and you may even encounter its Shiny form!
This year’s Eggstravaganza event will take place from:
- Europe: April 16th (10PM) to April 23rd (10PM)
- UK: April 16th (9PM) to April 23rd (9PM)
- North America (ET): April 16th (4PM) to April 23rd (4PM)
- North America (PT): April 16th (1PM) to April 16th (1PM)
- Japan: April 17th (5AM) to April 24th (5AM)
Here’s the list of features for this event:
- Pokémon like Pichu, Smoochum, and Magby will be in 2 km Eggs.
- If you’re lucky, you may encounter Shiny Buneary!
- You may find different Pokémon hatching from Eggs than before.
- Limited-time Egg-focused Field Research will be available during this event.
And here’s the set of bonuses for it:
- 2× Hatch Candy
- 2× Incubator effectiveness
- Lucky Eggs will last twice as long
