Megami Meguri: more details (food, customisation), screens, and new trailer

Yesterday, Capcom shared some more details and screenshots for Megami Meguri. This time, we learn about food: it turns out that Tsukumo just loves human food, and is a bit of a glutton. While traveling across Japan, you will gather various ingredients: you can use those to cook some delicious dishes, and eat them with Tsukumo. It looks like she can become really talkative when it comes to food!

When Tsukumo eat some of dishes you’ve cooked, you will not only get to enjoy a special conversation with her, this will also have an impact on her stats. Besides “regular” dishes, there are also local specialties to be found when you travel to specific areas (that can only be found there). Naturally, you are encouraged to travel throughout the country to find all those local dishes!

Here’s some examples:

  • Hokkaido area: Ishikari-nabe (hot pot)
  • Tohoku area: Wanko Soba
  • Chuubu area: Hitsumabushi
  • Kansai area: Okonomiyaki
  • Shikoku area: Saba Sugatazushi
  • Kyushu: Mochi Nabe (hot pot)

Next, Capcom details another feature of the Megami Speak Engine used in Megami Meguri. When teaching words to Tsukumo, you can also change the intonation and the reading of the words. For each word, you can chose between several intonations, which changes the way Tsukumo speaks.  As for the reading of a word, we get an example with 鎮魂歌: you can chose to have it read as “Chinkonka” (fantasy) or レクイエム (“Requiem”)

Finally, we get more details about customisation. Not only can you change Tsukumo’s clothes and hairstyle to your liking, but you can also change the colour of her eyes and her hair.

Here’s the latest trailer for Megami Meguri:
