Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology – Details from Famitsu (improvements, new story content, more)

Earlier today, Famitsu revealed that Atlus would be bringing Radiant Historia to the Nintendo 3DS, with Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology, a full remake. Thanks to Famitsu magazine, and more precisely the usual leaks, we now have a lot more details about the game (however, do note they may be inaccurate, those are leaks after all).

First, we learn that Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology will feature voice acting, along with improved graphics, and special illustrations for event scenes. According to the magazine, A-1 Pictures is in charge of the opening animation.

The game will have two modes:

  • Perfect Mode: a mode that lets you play through the original scenario right from the beginning, without having to go through the first two from the original game (Alternate History and Standard History). Perfect for those who already played Radiant Historia on Nintendo DS.
  • Append Mode: a mode where you go through the two scenarios from the original (Alternate History and Standard History), before playing the new one. Perfect for those who never played Radiant Historia on Nintendo DS, or those who want to get the full experience again;

What’s more, players will have the opportunity to select the difficulty level, though Famitsu doesn’t share any other details abou that.

Here’s some details about the characters

  • Stocke (protagonist, voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi): an agent in Alistel’s Specint program. He can foresee future events and travel back in time thanks to the White Chronicle (a mysterious book);
  • Nemesia (new character, voiced by Mikako Komatsu). A mysterious girl who meets the protagonist. She holds the key of the new scenario, and she’s in search of a mysterious material called Artifact.

The other party members are:

  • Eruca (voiced by Rie Takahashi)
  • Aht (voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa)
  • Raynie (voiced by Ayane Sakura)
  • Marco (voiced by Yoshitaka Yamaya)
  • Rosch (voiced by Wataru Hatano)
  • Gafka (voiced by Takaya Kuroda)

Finally, the interview with the developers has the Director (Katsura Hirano) reveal that it’s thanks to support from fans that they’re able to release Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology. There has been more and more voices calling for such a game within Atlus, and they’re finally able to make it a reality. He also explains that the team paid particular attention to playability, in order to improve it in this remake.

The new scenario isn’t just a parallel world, and everything is different from the Standard History and the Alternate History: how characters are treated, how the timeline is interpreted, and how this new history was born.

Finally, Famitsu reveals that development is almost complete: 95% of the work has already be done… no wonder, since it’s releasing in June!

Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology (3DS) comes out on June 29th in Japan.
