The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Explorer’s Edition also releasing in Japan, more details and pictures

Earlier this week, Nintendo announced that they would release The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Explorer’s Edition in North America, for Black Friday. It’s a special edition of the game that comes with a map and a guide book, but does not include the Season Pass (it’s not one of those GOTY editions, after all).

We initially thought this would be a North America-only release, but it turns out the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Explorer’s Edition is also headed to Japan. It will be released on November 23rd, and will cost 6 990 Yen. Nintendo specifies that it will be a limited edition, so if you’re interested, make sure to get it as soon as possible (it most likely will be available only for the holiday season).

The guidebook has 88 pages, filled with details about Hyrule, but also the various characters you get to meet during your adventure, the many weapons found in the game, and more.

But it’s not the only thing Nintendo will release on November 23rd: a download card for the Season Pass will also be released on that day (price: 2 500 Yen). If you don’t want to buy the DLC using your credit card, then you can purchase that card in stores and redeem the code on the Nintendo eShop instead.

By the way, Nintendo specifies that the second DLC Pack is still slated for a Winter 2017 release, it will not be available on November 23rd.

Here’s some pictures of the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Explorer’s Edition and the Download Card for the Season Pass:

Right now, nothing has been announced for Europe, and it’s not clear if this special edition is going to skip that region or not.

Speaking of Zelda, Nintendo has added a set of three posters on My Nintendo in Japan. They cost 300 Platinum Coins, but there’s a catch: the rewards you redeem is actually the “right to purchase the posters on the My Nintendo Store”. The posters are completely free, but you need to pay 500 Yen as shipping costs. They will be shipped sometime in December.

The My Nintendo reward is available until November 13th, and after that, you will be able to order the posters from November 15th to November 20th. Nintendo specifies that if you do not order your posters, even though you redeemed your Platinum Coins, you will not get a refund. And of course, only people residing in Japan can order from the My Nintendo Store, so no posters for you if you don’t live in that country!

By the way, the posters from that set are actually the very same one used to advertise The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the Season Pass in stores (which is why they feature things like the price or release date).

Here’s what the posters look like:

Unfortunately, we don’t know if those posters will ever be available for people residing in Europe, North America, and other countries.
