Bloodstained: details on the Wii U version, more

Wii U version funded

Last week, the Kickstarter campaign for Bloodstained got a Stretchgoal for a Wii U version (developed by Armature)… and it didn’t take long for it to be reached. In an update posted on the official Kickstarter page, it was confirmed that Bloodstained on Wii U would also get a retail version.

If you’re a new backer, you need to select any of the +28$ tier in order to be able to chose the Wii U version during the post-Kickstarter survey. If you already backed the game before the stretchgoal was met, you don’t have to do anything (except wait for the survey).

Armature Studios (who will port Bloodstained on Unreal Engine 4, just like the other versions) also gave a list of features they hope to include in the Wii U version of the game:

New stretchgoal

A new stretchgoal was also added: asynchronous multiplayer!

Bloodstained 2

  • “Borrow” a friend’s character stats for a certain amount of time (your friend will get a bonus)
  • Ghost Data (See friend’s saved character movements while fighting a boss)
  • Friend’s playthroughs affect your game in some way (e.g. a gravestone and an offering might mark the spot where your friend died)
  • Plus another surprise that we’ll unveil soon…

Special attacks

In a Kickstarter update, the developers are giving us a look at some of the special attacks of the game:

Gluttony Summon: Attacks enemy by summoning an angry spirit that devours anything and everything in its path.

Magical Throne: Materializes a chair that speeds up MP replenishment. Looks very relaxing.

Voltic Chain: Summons electrified chains to attack all enemies with electric volts. This is a special “seventh” ability—not a demonic one.

Winestained: Throws a wineglass in anger, increasing the effectiveness of certain abilities.
