Xenoblade Chronicles 2: all the details, pictures from the official Twitter account (November 6th to November 17th)

After Splatoon 2, ARMS, and even Super Mario Odyssey, it’s Xenoblade Chronicles 2’s turn to get regular updates via Twitter. And naturally, just like with the aforementionned games, we’re going to gather all the details, pictures, GIFs, videos, etc. in a single post… yes, this one!

This post only contains the details, pictures, etc., for the period going from November 5th to November 17th. For all the latest updates, make sure to check out this post instead.

November 17th

Today, Monolith Soft. introduced another Rare Blade: Rinne (official English name or spelling TBC). She’s a pretty gorgeous Blade, who refers to herself as “Ojo-sama” (lit. Lady or Princess… though in that case, Princess might be more accurate as she is wearing a crown). She was designed by Parsley, and Ari Ozawa is the one voicing her.

November 16th

Today, Monolith Soft. shared some details and pictures for Genbu, one of the Titans (where the Kingdom of Tantal can be found). It’s pretty cold place, offer breathtaking snowy landscapes. At night, you can see the beautiful aetherial glitter of the stars, from the back of the Titan. The screenshots below a yet-to-be-revealed Rare Blade that seems to be a young woman in a bathtub, and with drills for hair.

November 15th

Today, Monolith Soft. shared some details and pictures for Morag (voiced by Mitsuki Saiga), special executive officer of the Empire of Mor Ardain, and the Empire’s strongest Driver. Unlike a certain character, she isn’t a self-proclaimed “strongest Driver”. Her Blade is Kagutsuchi (voiced by Shizuka Ito), of the Fire attribute. The pair frequently cross paths (and Blades) with Rex and Pyra during the game.

November 14th

Today, Monolith Soft. shared some details and pictures for Akhos (voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki), Torna’s brains. He’s pretty skilled when it comes to gathering and analysing intel. Oh, and those red glasses of his are quite fashionable! His Blade is called Kamui (voiced by Yuri Yamaoka), who can finely manipulate the very flows of Aether. She assists Akhos in his intel gathering.

November 13th

Today, Monolith Soft. shared some details and pictures for Vandham (voiced by Tesshou Genda, the leader of a Mercenary band from the Kingdom of Uraya. He’s a formidable Driver, whose Blade (Suzaku, voiced by Takahiro Fujimoto) looks like a bird.

November 10th

Today, Monolith Soft. introduced another not one, but two new Rare Blade. Let’s start with Mikumari. A cute Blade with the Water attribute, but don’t be fooled by her looks: she’s pretty deadly with that lance of hers. She was designed by CHOCO, and Ayane Sakura is the one voicing her.

The second Rare Blade is called Seori. Since she uses an ice sword as weapon, it’s no wonder her attribute is Ice. She was also designed by CHOCO, and Ayako Kawasumi is the one voicing her.

November 9th

Today, Monolith Soft. shared some pictures and details for Mythra, the second form of the Aegis (the other one being Pyra). Her clothing and hairstyle are quite different, but so is her attribute (light). During battle, you can switch between Pyra and Mythra at any time, allowing Rex to become even more versatile. Of course, that second form also has a role to play in the story!

November 8th

Yesterday, following the Nintendo Direct, Monolith Soft. introduced not one, but 4 brand new Rare Blades:

  • Jikarao: a powerful demon-looking Blade. It was designed by Ryosuke Aiba (from CyDesignation), and Shunsuke Takeuchi is the one voicing it;

  • Teni: a woman riding a mecha dragon. It was designed by Hideo Minaba (from CyDesignation), and Aya Endo is the one voicing it;

  • Guren: a hot-blooded Rare Blade, with a strong sense of justice. It was designed by Minoru Iwamoto (from Bandai-Namco Entertainment), and Touru Furuya is the one voicing it;

  • Yaegiri: a strong Blade, full of energy, always looking for strong opponents to battle. It was also designed by Minoru Iwamoto (from Bandai-Namco Entertainment), and Ayana Taketatsu is the one voicing it.

Also, a new Party Member and his Rare Blade were also revealed:

  • Zeke (voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda). His full name is Zeke ・ B ・ Goku Genbu (English name TBC). He once said “The mind of a Hero is hidden under that eyepatch”. His muscular arms show he might very well be the real deal;
  • Pandoria (voiced by Ryou Hirohashi). Zeke’s Rare Blade, who has the lightning attribute. In the Japanese version, she speaks using Kansai-ben. The staff she’s using is actually part of the handle of a giant sword.

November 7th

Today, Monolith Soft. shared just one screenshot, showing a pretty breathtaking night sight:

November 6th

Today, Monolith Soft. introduced another Rare Blade. Mei. She features a gothic / punk design, so it’s pretty fitting her attribute would be darkness. Her thorny spear definitely looks deadly! She was designed by Yasuomi Umetsu, and Sayaka Senbongi is the one voicing her.

November 5th

Today, Monolith Soft. introduced another Rare Blade: Idaten. It’s a really unique Blade, that happens to be quite… round. It’s does look quite cute, but also pretty odd at the same time (it certainly is unlike any other Rare Blade!). It was designed by I-IV, and is voiced by Aya Hirano.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Switch) comes out on December 1st, worldwide.
