The Snack World: Trejarers delayed to August 10th

The Snack World is the latest cross-media project from Level-5. The manga debuted in December in CoroCoro magazine, the anime series began airing in April on TV Tokyo, and the game… has just been delayed. Today, Level-5 announced that the Nintendo 3DS game, called The Snack World: TreJarers, would be released on August 10th (instead of July 13th, as initially announced).

Officially, Level-5 decided to delay the game for quality reasons, but with less than a month left until release, it’s a bit hard to believe (it should have gone gold a while ago already). If there truly were issues regarding quality, they should have been spotted much earlier than this.

Fortunately, the delay isn’t too big a deal (a mere month), though that means the game will miss a large chunk of the Summer holidays, which is a great period for video game sales (especially kids and/or familiy-friendly titles). At the very least, it’s not going to miss on Obon, an important holiday.

Also, that delay is nothing compared to the one the mobile game suffered: it was originally supposed to come out in April, alongside the anime series, but it won’t be released before 2018 now… at the earliest.

The Snack World: Trejarers (3DS) comes out on August 10th in Japan. The Upcoming Releases page has been updated!
