LINE: Nintendo opens an official account in Japan

LINE a popular instant messaging application for mobile devices and PC, with millions of users all around the world. In Japan, it’s the most popular social network, and since Nintendo will soon launch its first game on mobile platforms (in the upcoming weeks), it’s pretty important for the company to have an official account there.

And this morning, Nintendo announced just that: the launch of an official account on LINE. You can add “@nintendo” manually, or scan the QR code found on Nintendo’s website. The account is managed by Toad, who can “chat” with you (in Japanese only). Quite obviously, it’s just a bunch of randomised messages, as there is no employee sitting at a desk and answering all the messages sent to the account.

When a journalist from Famitsu asks Toad to tell them more about the NX, Toad simply… talked about how great B-Dashing feels. Talk about random!
