Pokkén TournamentPokkén Tournament

Today, it was announced that Pokkén Tournament would get an update in Early April (most likely next week). It will bring the game to Ver. 1.2, with various fixes:

  • fixes an issue involving Shadow Mewtwo, that would force opponents to continually block by using certain moves repeatedly;
  • balance fix for Reshiram (Support Pokémon)
  • adjustments have been made for a more pleasant gaming experience

To download this update, you will need ???MB of free space on your Wii U or external HDD (the download size will be added once it’s known). To download it, you will have two options:

  • let the Wii U do its thing if you have automatic download activates. You should have the latest version installed the next time you launch the game;
  • if you don’t, you can launch Pokkén Tournament from the Home Menu of your Wii U (not the Quick Start Menu) in order to trigger the download manually.

To check that you have the latest version of Pokkén Tournament, simply launch the game. You should see “Ver. 1.2” at the top left corner of the screen.

Talking of Pokkén Tournament, Nintendo has launched a special offer for players who bought the digital version. They can get the Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card by doing the following:

  1. Register for our Nintendo Store. This is how we’ll make sure that your shipping address in our system.
    • If you have registered before, please make sure that we have your recent shipping address by signing in to update your profile.

  2. Email our support team. In order to qualify for this free offer, we’ll need to verify your purchase history to confirm that Pokkén Tournament has been purchased. You’ll be asked for the following information:

      • Email address – be sure to use the same email address you provided in your Nintendo Store registration from step 1.
      • Nintendo Network ID
      • Serial Number
    • To email us, click here.
  3. Wait for us to review and process your request. After we confirm your Nintendo eShop purchase, we’ll reply to your email with shipping information for your order. Please allow up to two weeks for processing time.

This offer is only for North American players, and lasts until July 31st. Unfortunately, it’s not clear if other regions will also get a similar offer down the line.

Jirachi distribution

Today, the second online distribution for the Pokémon 20th Anniversary celebrations went live in Europe and North America. It allows you to get Jirachi in Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire. You have until April 24th to get it via the Nintendo Network:

  • launch the game while being connected to the internet
  • select Mystery Gift
  • select Receive Gift
  • select Get Via Internet

Pokémon scrap

Today, it was revealed that the Pokémon Scrap campaign (in Japan) would start on April 28th, and last until August 31st. By redeeming a certain amount of codes (receiving by buying specific merchandise), you can get the following:

  • 1 code: Serial Code for Venusaur (Hidden Ability: Chlorphyll, holds the Venusaurite)
  • 4 codes: Serial Code for Charizard (Hidden Ability: Solar Power, holds the Charizardite Y)
  • 8 codes: 5 Max Revives
  • 12 codes: Serial Code for Blastoise (Hidden Ability: Rain Dish, holds the Blastoisinite)
  • 16 codes: Serial Code for Shiny Mewtwo (Hidden Ability: Unnerve, holds the Mewtwonite Y)
  • 20 codes: Serial Code for a Master Ball
