A New Hero – Ino
Wave 2 of the Expansion Pass for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 features a brand new Hero: Ino (voiced by Aoi Koga in Japanese), which was designed by PALOW. Before you can add her to your Heroes roster, you will first need to clear her Hero Quest, which will be available from Chapter 3.
Ino is a rather unique mech-like girl who speaks like a Nopon — in fact, she’s exceedingly fond of them. She calls herself an “Artificial Blade”… but what does that mean exactly?
There’s one thing Ino loves as much as Nopons (if not more…): a special kind of ether called HD Ether. She likes to collect and drink HD Ether Cylinders, which conveniently happen to boost her various abilities.
Ino’s class is Noponic Champion (a Defender). You can customise her abilities thanks to a feature called Inoswap. By collecting HD Ether Cylinders from all over the world, you can upgrade her abilities and more.
And just like with all other Heroes, the other party members will be able to switch to her class once their bond with her has reached a certain level (which will also unlock her outfit if you want just the looks and not the abilities!).
Challenging Battles Against Powerful Enemies
Wave 2 of the Expansion Pass for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 also features a brand new mode called Challenge Battles (similar to the Challenge Battle mode in Xenoblade Chronicles 2). In this mode, you get to take part in a series of battles against powerful enemies. If you can defeat them all, you can earn some nice rewards!
Completing challenges allows you to earn Nopon Crystals, which are then exchanged for rewards such as powerful accessories or items to improve class mastery.
Just like Ino’s Hero Quest, Challenge Battles will be available from Chapter 3.
New Fashion Equipment – Swimwear
Among the rewards available via Battle Challenges, there’s a set of swimwear costumes (which come in several colours).
