Xenoblade Chronicles 3: all you need to know about the DLC and the Expansion Pass

During the Nintendo Direct presentaton entirely dedicated to Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (on June 22nd 2022), Nintendo announced that the game would get some DLC. Xenoblade Chronicles X already got some (though it was included from the get-go in the western release), and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 got even more (including a full-blown expansion, Torna ~ The Golden Country), and so it’s no wonder that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 would get some too!

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Expansion Pass

• Release date: July 29th 2022 (worldwide), but already available for digital pre-order
• Price: 29.99€ / £26.99 / $29.99 / CA$39.99 / 3 000 Yen
• Contents: all the DLC Packs listed below

NB: as usual with Expansion Passes from Nintendo, each set of DLC Pack can not be purchased separately. Also, the content will only be available on the day it’s released (check out below for more details), and you do not get early access by buying the Expansion Pass.

Also, keep in mind you need to download the relevant Software updates before you can access the various bits of DLC. You will find which version you need in the list below!

DLC Wave #1 – Adventure Support Pack

• Release date: July 29th 2022 (worldwide)
• Requires: Ver. 1.1.0 or more recent

• How to claim and where to find the contents:
  • All: Press X to go the Main Menu > Select “Expansion Pass” > Select “Adventure Support Pack” > Press Y to “Receive Contents” > Select the items you want to receive (or press Y to “Receive All”)
    • Expandable Items: automatically added to your Inventory (“Items” in the Main Menu)
    • Accessories: automatically added to your Inventory (“Items” in the Main Menu). You can only equip Accessories once you have cleared the Container tutorial.
    • Clothing: automatically added to the Clothing menu, but you first need to reach Chapter 3 and clear the first Hero Quest before the Characters > Clothing menu is unlocked.

DLC Wave #2 – New Hero & Intense Enemy Battles

• Release date: October 13th 2022 (North America) / October 14th 2022 (Europe, Japan)
• Requires: Ver. 1.2.0 or more recent

DLC Wave #4 – Story Expansion: Future Redeemed

  • New Challenge added to Time Attack mode in Challenge Battles (to unlock it, you need to clear both the main game and Future Redeemed)
• How to access the new content:
  • Future Redeemed: simply press + on the title screen of the main game to switch to the title screen for Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed!

Free DLC: Miibomii Quest

• Release date: July 19th 2023 (North America) / July 20th 2023 (Europe, Japan)
• Requires: Ver. 2.1.0 or more recent
• Size: N/A
• Contents:
  • New Quest
  • New Weapon Skins: Aegis weapon skins for the Swordfighter class
• How to access the new content:
  • Make sure to download Ver. 2.1.0
  • Head to Llyn Nyddwr, in Ribbits Flats (Fornis Region). To access it, open up the map, select “Fornis Region”, then “Fornis Region, Full”. The closest teleport point is the Llyn Nyddwr Camp.
  • Talk to Miibomii at the camp, and accept her quest. Complete it, and you will receive the Weapon Skins.
    • NB: you can unlock the Weapons Skins automatically by tapping the Pyra and Mythra amiibo.
