System Improvements

Optimization

  • Optimized overall memory usage to improve issues where the game would freeze or force close during extended play sessions or when moving between regions.
  • Improved excessive frame rate drops that occurred during specific segments such as cutscenes or in-game sequences.
  • The language change feature is now only available from the title screen.
    (※ To ensure stability, the language change option has been removed during gameplay. The language can still be changed via the settings menu on the title screen.)

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where, if the bulletin board was closed during the mission acceptance sequence at the Sea People Village bulletin board, the check mark would appear abnormally large when re-entering.
  • Fixed an issue where the Salvage Drone UI button was not displayed properly near the head or tail of hammerhead sharks.
  • Fixed an issue where snubnose spiny eels could pass through walls or their movement would stutter unnaturally.

New Content

In-game Achievement System Added

  • The Jungle Achievements app has been added to the smartphone.
    • This is a system where you can progress through In the Jungle-related achievements in-game, separate from platform achievements.
    • Progress from previous play will also be reflected in the achievements.
    • Completing all achievements will grant a special interior decoration for Dave’s home.

RPG

  • 1 new Cobra skill has been added.
    • The new skill is unlocked after completing all ending events.

System Improvements

Village/Seta Forest

  • Added an “Auto Run” feature that lets you keep dashing in the village, Bancho Grill, and Seta Forest.
    • Controls: Press the button below while moving to keep running automatically.
      • Controller: Click the movement button (L Stick)
  • Improved the monster preemptive strike button in the field so it is easier to recognize.

Mini-games

  • Mini-games that previously became skippable after 2–3 failures can now be skipped after 1 failure.
  • Improved Zaka’s guitar mini-game so notes appear precisely to the beat. You can now play more naturally in time with the rhythm.

Gathering

  • Improved Rifa’s breeding area so you can check the list of lizards sold or gifted to Rifa.

NPC/Affinity

  • Viper meat has been added to the foods that Perak likes.

Other Improvements

  • Improved the character skill list UI so that pressing once more at the top or bottom of the list moves to the opposite end.

  • Fixed an issue where Dave could not be controlled if Burgessomedusa took damage during its button-mashing action.
  • Fixed an issue where red-bellied piranhas might not appear in the lake even after the red-bellied piranha discovery sequence.
  • Fixed an issue where Goliath tigerfish might stop appearing after a certain point.
  • Fixed an issue where sleeping fish could not be sucked in with the Utara Vacuum.

  • Fixed an issue where Zboon’s fruit basket gift would intermittently reactivate even after being received that day, and attempting to receive it again would grant no reward.

Missions

  • Fixed an issue where, if another mission from Basu was in progress, the wolf turtle-related mission dialogue would not proceed, making further progress impossible.
  • Fixed an issue where the game could freeze or the boss might not appear during the “Clumsy Slime?” mission.

  • Fixed an issue where the poison effect of the Toad Bracelet would intermittently not apply.

  • Fixed an issue where lizard feed could be placed inside Murau Temple.
  • Fixed an issue where the toad’s tongue would be hidden behind its body when using a skill.

Utara Village

  • Fixed an issue where Dave could get stuck and become unable to move when traveling by kickboard in certain areas of the shooting range.
  • Fixed an issue where some items and furniture could overlap in the housing system.
  • Fixed an issue where the mortar placed on the table in Dave’s home could not be interacted with.
  • Fixed an issue where the CD player music stopped after the Pop Ucom mini-game ended.

Mini-games

  • Fixed an issue where acquired Atlas beetles might not appear in the Beetle Battle collection box.
  • Improved the movement of the fishing line so it looks more natural.

Gathering

  • Fixed an issue where selecting an insect in the Beetle Battle collection box and then switching to another tab would reset the selection.
  • Fixed an issue where Dave could pass through tree crops in Zboon’s garden.
  • Improved an issue where the interaction range in Zboon’s garden was recognized awkwardly or intermittently.
  • Adjusted the interaction range for crops in Zboon’s garden so interactions work more smoothly.

Blue Hole Sea Exploration

  • Fixed an issue where the Jungle Gun’s firearm mode could not be changed in the underwater lake area of the Blue Hole.
  • Fixed an issue where, while the Jungle Gun was equipped, unusable firearm upgrade kits could appear from weapon boxes, and using them would display incorrect weapon information.

Other Fixes

  • Fixed character voices, various sounds, and sequence effects that did not match certain situations.
  • Adjusted issues where some text UI areas overlapped.

For Ichiban’s Holiday Content Pack Owners

  • Fixed an issue where, if the “Operation Sea Blue!” mission overlapped with the timing for Duff’s firearm upgrade unlock, the screen would remain dark and prevent normal gameplay.

  • Fixed an issue where, in rare cases, the game could not be progressed when exiting the Shipwreck Interior while carrying 60kg or more.

  • Added more locations where feather-type items can be obtained.
  • Improved the UI in the Equipment Enhancement menu to make it easier to identify items available for enhancement.
  • Added instructions on how to purchase a secondary tool when none is equipped in the Equipment tab.

  • [After entering Chapter 7] Fixed an issue where items obtained during the “Bombs Away” mission were not being rewarded properly.
    • If you were unable to receive certain boss reward items due to this issue, they will be restored to your inventory after the update when you log in again.
  • Fixed an issue where the game could force close when a character reached the max level (Lv.20).
  • Fixed an issue where the Hide and Seek mission did not fail properly and remained in an abnormal state, preventing game progression.
    • The mission fails if you leave the area during the mission.

How to download updates for DAVE THE DIVER on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2?

To download the updates for DAVE THE DIVER, you have three options:

  • let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated, and didn’t completely turn it off

If not…

  • try to launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;

OR

  • select the game > press either + or – to go to the Options page > select Software update > select Via the Internet.

To check that you have the latest version installed, simply select the game on the Home Menu, and press – or + to go to the Options: the version number is displayed just below the game title.
