Mod System Expansion

The modification system has been expanded with a few old but good guns – the Sidewinder Venom, the Cobalt Kinetics EDGE Rifle, and the M1911A1. They have got a considerable buff and golden versions to light your way to victory!

Sidewinder Venom

 

The first thing we’ve thought of is damage. The Sidewinder Venom now features a total of 920 damage (which means 92 damage per pellet). We’ve also altered the minimum and maximum spread values to make the shotgun more accurate. The range decreased slightly – from 6 to 5 meters.

The golden version features higher damage and better range. The golden version of the gun will be available later.

 

Cobalt Kinetics EDGE Rifle

 

As for the Cobalt Kinetics EDGE Rifle, now it boasts increased damage (going from 86 to 96) and a RPM of 735. We’ve also improved the recoil pattern and accuracy and increased the zoom in and out speed.

The golden version features a higher RPM and mag capacity. The golden version of the gun will be available later.

 

M1911A1

The M1911A1 is a powerful semi-automatic pistol with good damage and high accuracy. And now it’s available in the mod system as well!

Aim-Assist for the Sniper Rifles

The aim-assist is now active on all sniper rifles. The activation radius is slightly narrower, the aim snapping is weaker, and it sticks closer to the centre of the body. We consider this AA configuration most comfortable for Snipers and it fits well into the existing game balance.

  • Sentry 12: fixed a bug, due to which the fire rate with the “Lightweight Pellets” mod installed was displayed incorrectly.
  • Fixed a bug, due to which the weapons in the event store would be marked as “purchased” if the player had a temporary version of the same weapon in their inventory.
  • S&W Survival Tanto: fixed a bug, due to which some of the sounds when using the weapon were missing.
  • Cobalt Kinetics EDGE Rifle: fixed the bug, due to which the TI-RAID silencer reduced the weapon’s accuracy.

The “Outlaws” Event

Can you hear the roar of engines? See the dust cloud looming down the road? That’s right, the “Outlaws” event is finally in the game, and along with it – a wealth of new content. Check out the dedicated publication to learn the details!

Throwing Tomahawk

Effective, deadly, and easy to use at short distance. Yet, it requires some serious in-game skill to use it at mid and long range. The idea is simple: you throw it – you pick it up, regardless whether you managed to strike the opponent or not.

You can install up to two mods of your choice out of 4. With them, you can:

  • increase the weapon switching and throwing speeds;
  • increase the movement speed with the Tomahawk equipped;
  • after an elimination, instantly restore 55 HP and increase movement speed for 2.5 seconds;
  • have an extra Tomahawk at your disposal.

Ranked Matches

  • The time to reconnect to the match has been extended by 50% (from 3 to 4.5 minutes).

Bug Fixes

Important

  • Fixed a bug, due to which the player could get kicked out in the middle of a match. The issue was on the server side.
  • Fixed a bug, due to which the player could get stuck on a climbing point. A player used a double-climb spot and got stuck there, while to the other players it seemed that the player was elsewhere.
  • Fixed a bug, due to which the turrets played no sound or showed shooting effects when firing.

  • Fixed a bug, due to which it was impossible to equip Eagle Shot SAR 109T Specs.

Cobalt Kinetics Stealth Pistol (and its skinned versions): the damage multipliers to the head and torso have been increased, and the damage reduction by distance has been reduced. The weapon’s specs have been tweaked:

  • Increased damage from 88 to 92,
  • Increased rate of fire from 720 to 840,
  • Increased range from 10 to 11.

Bug Fixes

Important

  • Fixed the reasons for freezes and crashes when changing the settings of a created custom  PvP room. 
  • The game no longer crashes when a player breaks a Molotov when the match ends. 
  • Improved the display of shotgun damage on the modifications screen. Now you see a total damage scale divided into segments equal to the number of pellets per shot.

We’d like to present to you a festive in-game activity with lots of rewards you can get for participating. Before rushing into battle, you’ll have to choose which side to fight on — Warface or Blackwood. Choose wisely as it’ll affect the rewards you get in the end. After making the decision, try and earn as many points for the chosen team and do your best, together, to get the unique rewards!

 

Available Soon

HK433

The HK433 is a German modular assault rifle fit for 5.56×45 bullets. It has a number of characteristics similar to the G36 and the HK416. This rifle was first introduced in 2017 and is branded as a universal, highly reliable weapon.

The HK433 offers a good combination of specs: high base and minimal damage, high fire rate and accuracy, as well as increased damage multipliers to the head and the extremities. The rifle has a number of unique attachments.

 

You can install mods on it, unique ones included. The first one increases reload speed by swapping the magazine to a smaller one, and you can unlock it on the second mastery level. The second mod changes the firing mode to bursts-of-3 and boosts damage, whereas the fire rate gets reduced, and the recoil – increased.

The golden version offers better fire rate and a more spacious magazine.

Ursula Ellis Suit

Ursula Ellis is a young woman, a helicopter pilot, born in East London. Soon she will share her story. Until then, let’s have a look at the contents of her themed set. There you’ll find the Ursula Ellis Suit, the HK433, the Buckled Lupara and the Khopesh of the new “Rainforest” series, as well as camos for those models, an achievement set, and a “Pilot’s Helmet” weapon charm.

As always, the themed charater-related items will be available via special contracts, the launch of which we will announce later.

  • Fixed a bug, due to which the turrets in the “Sunrise” SO dealt no damage to the player.
  • Fixed a bug, due to which, when playing as SED, the weapon’s heat indicator was incorrectly displayed in some special operations.

St. Patrick’s Day Content

To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, we’ve added a new themed contract “Lucky Quatrefoil”. The rewards include the “Clover” skins for the Cobalt Kinetics EDGE Rifle and the Hunting Knife, the Leprechaun Helmet and Leprechaun Gloves for 14 days, as well as a set of achievements and a lucky weapon charm. 

Contract for Parts

The game now offers a free regular contract “Reaching New Heights” by completing which you can gain parts. The contract includes three changing tasks. For each completed stage, you will receive 10 parts, and 300 parts as a final reward.

Important: If you have already unlocked the Mauser Kar98k “Heavy Frame” mod, the first time you log into the game after the update the mod will be displayed as locked in the weapon progression. In return, you will receive 3,000 parts. They can be used to re-open the mod with the new stats or spent on other upgrades.
  • OTs-14 Groza: added an achievement for 2,500 eliminations with the weapon.

Important

  • Fixed one of the bugs that could cause players to load into a match without weapons. This fix does not guarantee a complete solution to the problem. Share your observations in the comments!
  • Fixed a bug due to which, if one or more players were dead, the checkpoint did not work in some PvE missions and the “Anubis” Special Operation.
  • Fixed some causes of game client crashes.

Festive Contracts

The game now offers four festive contracts. By completing them, you can get the long-awaited Molotov Cocktail, which will add some fire to your combats and bring unique gameplay and tactical features to the game. Rewards include a festive NY Sphere Charm to cheer you up and add some Christmas spirit and a Random Box containing the H&K G36 Assault of the new “Present” series.

Molotov

The Molotov is already in Warface! After the explosion, the fire covers a small area for several seconds while the enemy caught in it endures repeating damage. The Molotov is equipped into the same slot as the frag grenades — you can equip either a frag grenade or the novelty when getting ready for battle.

The Molotov is currently not allowed to use in Ranked matches. We will monitor your feedback about the novelty and will make a decision about its inclusion later.

 

Present H&K G36 Assault 

A weapon decorated for Christmas and New Year is the best gift for a Warface player.

Upgrades and mods of legendary weapons

The legendary guns are making a comeback. The AK Alpha, Typhoon F12, Kriss Super V Custom, and CDX-MC Kraken can now be upgraded and have mods installed! With mods, they become worthy opponents, even to the latest models. Furthermore, the models’ basic specs have been slightly improved as well.

Modification System

The modification system is a progression mechanic for in-game items. It allows changing the specs of certain primary or secondary weapons, as well as the “Spectre” vests by applying mods. The modification system allows the player to improve their guns and customize the characteristics to better suit their individual game style.

In the modification system, by completing special contracts, or levelling up through the item progression, you can get a special currency — parts, which can then be used to upgrade the mods. Weapons and gear level up while playing with them. The more you use an item in the game, the higher its level, and the greater the range of available mods. For different types of weapons (assault rifles, shotguns, etc.) there is a different set of mods available.

Weapons and gear

We continue making small changes to the weapons’ stats. In this update, among other things, we have tweaked the medics’ guns: the Buckled Lupara, V3 Tac-13, and SIX AUTO-SD. They proved to be ineffective against enemies wearing newer gear: they could not one-shot them from up close. This does not follow the shotgun archetype as a powerful close-range weapon.

SIX12 AUTO SD

We have increased the base damage and reduced the amount of pellets, which will make the shotgun more effective at a close range.

V3 TAC-13

The amount of pellets has been changed, and the general damage has been considerably increased (up to 768). This change increased the chances of one-shotting enemies from a short distance and brought the shotgun closer to its competitor, the Benelli Super Black Eagle 3.

Buckled Lupara

The amount of pellets has been decreased, and the overall damage increased to 603. This will increase the chances of one-shotting the enemy at a short distance.

“Knockout Trials” Event

We are glad to present to you a new in-game event! You are in for lots of rewards for specials contracts and hot PvP combats.

PvP mode “Knockout Trials”

The mode can be described as a mix of “Team Deathmatch” and “Bag and Tag” — you will have to combine joint efforts if the team wants to win, and its participants will have to try and stay alive as long as possible.

At the beginning of the battle, each player has one skull token. When a player is eliminated, a skull with a counter will appear in their place. The counter displays the number of skulls that the player lost after their death. The player who picks up the skulls will increase theirs and their team’s number of accumulated skull tokens. The winning team will be the one whose participants will manage to save or accumulate more skulls than their opponent team by the end of the match.

The teams will consist of six players and take place on the updated maps of the “Plant the Bomb” mode — “Gas Station”, “Pyramid Modern”, “Destination Modern”, “D17 Modern” and “Bridges Modern”.

“Gas Station” (“Plant the Bomb”)

Good news for fans of the classic “Plant the Bomb” mode — a new map has appeared in the game! “Gas Station” is a colorful map with a futuristic design. It features unique destruction mechanics: players can blow up doors and gates, and, thus, gain more tactical options.

 

But there is an important detail! Although players get more ways to attack by destroying objects, the explosion sound will give out their position.

Play on the new map and leave feedback about the new gameplay features on the “Gas Station” map.

Updated Buckled Lupara

The new secondary weapon will become a reliable ally for Snipers. It sports high damage and an excellent rate of fire. It will help you at close range if the enemy caught you by surprise when you are out of ammo.

The combination of its advantages is offset by a lower magazine capacity and moderate range — you will have to shoot accurately, firing at long distances will not work. The weapon is very effective in combat, but requires increased concentration.

 

Please note: players who already have the Buckled Lupara will receive a new item with updated specifications.

“Raider” Series

This weapon series is indispensable to survive out in the wild. The weapons are fixed with the blue electrical tape, but they are time-tested and have excellent characteristics! The series includes the IMBEL IA2 Assault, SIX12 AUTO-SD, Desert Tech MDRX, Barrett M82A1 and the Hunting Knife.

Vepr VPO-X3

The Vepr VPO-X3 is a new weapon for Medics. If you like weapons firing short bursts, this new one is for you! The Vepr VPO-X3 is a semi-automatic shotgun capable of firing 3-round bursts with a minimal delay. At close ranges, this shotgun is guaranteed to eliminate the enemy by hitting any part of the body, regardless of the equipment worn. This advantage is offset by a short firing range and the lack of possibility to reload one round at a time. Attachments include a unique scope and a special suppressor, as well as a standard set of barrel modifications.

KH9-EX

We are glad to present to you a new weapon for Engineers. The gun is equipped with unique attachments that cannot be replaced with standard modifications. Its silencer does not reduce damage, while the grip reduces recoil. One of the unique sights (2x) indicates the distance to the target. In terms of the specifications, the model is close to the SAR 109T Specs: it has increased damage, improved rate of fire, excellent accuracy and impressive range of fire, offset by the minimum damage values, moderate head and limbs damage multipliers and most importantly — recoil which is more difficult to control.

Agent Taishan Pack

The agent’s pack includes “Avalanche” weapons and camos, a Medic suit, a special weapon charm and achievements designed in the agent’s style. You will be able to get the items by completing new contracts. The contracts will be available soon, stay tuned for news.

Map rotation

In one of the previous publications, we talked about changing the list of available maps and modes. Some of them will be available on a temporary basis and rotate every two weeks, while other maps or modes will become seasonal, appearing in the game as part of special events. In this update, we have disabled some of the maps — they are no longer available.

The “Domination” mode will remain available in Quick Play till the next maintenance. So those players who have already started gaining progress in the contract “Rookie training” will have time to finish it. Please note that this contract will be disabled with the next maintenance.

Soon, two new weapon models will be added into the game: Desert Tech MDRX and K&M Arms Model 17S.

K&M Arms M17

This is a modern version of the Bushmaster M17S bullpup assault rifle, produced by K&M Arms. The novelty has several cool features at once — a hybrid sight and rangefinder.

On the rifle screen you can see the rest of your rounds in the magazine, your ammunition and the distance between you and your target. In addition, you will be able to switch between the collimator and optical sight.

While being similar to the IMBEL IA2 Assault rifle, the novelty differs from its counterpart thanks to increased damage multipliers and higher rate of fire, however it does have reduced base damage.

 

The golden version features a higher rate of fire and an even more spacious magazine.

Desert Tech MDRX

The bullpup weapon with a shortened barrel was designed by DesertTech Inc. The novelty has a good combination of high damage, good damage multipliers and impressive long-range damage. This allows you to eliminate enemies with a single headshot, even if they have topnotch equipment.

These characteristics are offset by a low rate of fire and a strong recoil (when compared to its nearest competitor, SIG 552 Commando and SAR 109T Specs).

 

Please note that the weapons mentioned above are not yet available in the game. We will tell you about the ways of obtaining them in the near future.

“Highway” and “Truck Parking” Maps

Blackwood is advancing again! Now, the enemy decided to assault trucks of the largest logistics company ELS. However, their plan has been derailed: a Warface squad immediately arrived at the site and put up a fight.

The maps are balanced so that any class can find comfortable positions for combat. Medics and Engineers will unleash their potential in close-quarter encounters among containers and trucks, while Snipers will easily occupy vantage points on high ground. As for Riflemen, they will efficiently fight in open spaces.

AWP

The AWP is a modification of the legendary Arctic Warfare rifle produced by the British company Accuracy International. The rifle can be equipped with a unique collimator sight, which will increase the convenience of firing at any distance.

 

Agent “Baudo” Set

The set includes arms and camouflages of the “Anaconda” series, a Rifleman character skin, a weapon charm and achievements designed in the style of the agent, as well as new contracts, by completing which you can get the listed articles and other useful items.

“Eagle Shot” Series

We are glad to present to you a new weapon series with an unusual appearance. The weapon frames are decorated with feathers and other impressive elements. In addition, the models of the new series have a unique geometry. The weapon series includes the SAR 109T Specs and the AWP.

As an experiment, Random Boxes with “Eagle Shot” camos have guaranteed drops for the 50th and the 100th opening. Share your thoughts about this innovation in the comments!

Special Operation “Heist”

In the new special operation, you’ll have to pull off a full-blown bank robbery and destroy data that mustn’t fall into the hands of General Lee Warton. “Heist” is a mission for two partners, who with the help of new cable mechanics will move along the bank building, open three storage facilities with increasing levels of difficulty, while simultaneously fighting the police and special forces and, of course, immerse themselves in the atmosphere of a dynamic action-packed thriller.

Themed Safe House

The guards of the bank, which you will have to rob during the new special operation, train in the Safe House. The Safe House is decorated with themed elements and looks pretty realistic. “Parkour” training is also updated. The location got new easter eggs, which reveal new details of the plot. Technical changes

Improving the situation with “freezes”

Technical problems with “freezes” have the utmost priority in our work. We direct a lot of resources to investigate the situation and find a solution. In the proccess of analyzing the problem, we found several reasons that might affect the appearance of “freezes”. In this update, we have prepared a solution for part of the cases and have already implimented it into the game client. The rest of the changes are work in progress – we’ll tell you more about them in the future.

Please assess these changes and share your feedback in the comments – this will help us in the next stages of solving the issue. We’re continuing to investigate the situation, studying feedback and technical data. We will also be gradually implementing new solutions that can solve problems with “freezes”.

Crouch/stand up command improvements

We know that some players continue to abuse the mechanics of frequent crouches, receiving a bonus to shooting accuracy during the execution of the “crouch/ stand up” commands. To make it unprofitable for players to spam these commands, we have made additional changes. Now the shooter will receive a bonus to accuracy only in the “crouch” position. While the player is in-between commands, neither bonuses nor penalties will come into effect. This will make the “crouch spam”  ineffective and useless.

Improving the “bloody” effect upon impact

You may be familiar with this situation: there is an active shootout, you make a shot, you see blood on the opponent, but the game does not count the damage and in the next frame you’re dead. This is confusing – there was blood, but the damage was not counted. Why? The truth is that the  mechanics are not perfect  – the game client processes the information independently and compares it to the server, which leads to these misunderstandings. We want to improve the mechanics in this update. Below we explain how this used to happen before we implemented the changes.

  1. First, you receive a fatal shot, but you don’t know this, because the game client has not yet got this information from the server.
  2. Almost at the same time, with a delay of a few milliseconds, you shoot at the enemy (on your client’s side). You see the shot on your screen, and the information which is about to be sent to the server for verification.
  3. Next comes the step of confirmation (validation) of the shot from the server. At this stage, the server has already received information about your death, which happened a frame earlier, confirmed it and sent it to you.
  4. A moment later the server has processed information about your shot, but rejected this event (since it happened later) and sent the corresponding data.
  5. You sequentially saw two types of events:
    • the client’s view of the events: the fact of your shot happening, it hitting the enemy (later, as it turns out, it being too late), the “bloody” effect on the opponent’s body;
    • the server view of the events: the initial death of your character, hence the impossibility of receiving damage, the lack of the “damage cross” indicator when shooting at the enemy and then the death frame. The absence of the “cross” of damage is due to the fact that its display now depends on the server’s information, and not the client,  like it used to be before improving mechanics in one of our previous updates. 
  6. The exchange of information “from client to server to client” takes milliseconds, the same amount of time passes in-between these events. In short, all of the described steps occur so quickly that it may seem as if they are fixed at one point in time. However, this is not the case: there is a slight delay of a couple of milliseconds between the client’s and the server’s outcome. During this time, the client manages to display the result that was rejected by the server – this causes misunderstanding and frustration.

Now, the server will be responsible for the permission to draw the “bloody” effect upon impact like it happens with the “damage cross”. In other words, “blood” and “damage cross” now reflect the actual fact of inflicting damage, validated by the server, and not the speculation of the game client before the server checks the shot.

In addition, we have improved the “bloody” effect for shotguns. Now every pellet will have its own effect – blood drops. In this way, you will be able to better understand which part of the pellets hit the enemy, and which missed the target. If all the pellets hit the enemy, the effect will be most obvious – there will be lots of blood, and if some of them missed the objective, each pellet will cause separate blood splashes.

Equipment Presets

Now the player can create and save up to three equipment sets (weapons, camos, skins, gear, additional ammunition, and weapon charms). There are special tabs in the Inventory. By switching between them, you will open the saved sets. The choice and configuration of equipment is no different from the usual actions.

  • Fixed a bug due to which the installed achievements were not saved if at least one of the set elements (a badge, a mark or a stripe) was not selected and the slot remained empty.
  • Fixed a bug due to which, in some cases, the weapon pick was not saved if the player changed camouflages or charms on the arm.
  • Fixed a bug due to which players could silently plant/defuse bombs.

  • Guerrilla Sniper: fixed a visual error due to which the textures of the suit on the shoulder were displayed incorrectly.
  • “Gorgon” Squad, Elite “Gorgon” squad: fixed a bug due to which on the post-match statistics screen the hair of the model changed its color to black.

  • “Pripyat”:
    • fixed some visual artifacts in locations;
    • Act 1: fixed a bug due to which the player could get stuck in the textures of the fallen rack.
  • “Sunrise” (Hard): fixed a bug due to which, in some cases, the portable shield was not destroyed after taking damage from grenade launchers.
  • “Black Shark”: fixed an unintended advantage which prevented bots from attacking the player at a certain point.
  • Mars (Act 1): eliminated an unintended advantage due to which the player could occupy an advantageous position between the rocks and attack the boss from the cover.
  • “Blackwood” Operation: fixed a bug due to which a mine would explode twice if it was destroyed by a shot at the moment of its activation.

The new arm is an upgraded version of the Israeli assault rifle Galil ACE. The novelty sports excellent specs and can easily compete with the AS Val Custom. The new weapon boasts increased damage, good accuracy and an impressive rate of fire set off by slightly reduced damage multipliers and high recoil.

The golden version features a larger magazine and higher ammo capacity.

April Fool’s Day Content

The game now features special April Fool’s Day content. You will have the opportunity to decorate your profile with unique achievements and equip a cool weapon charm for good luck. The funny novelties will be available in a special contract!

The update also sports a thematic weapon pack including the Reversed Maxim 9 and the Cardboard Cleaver. Moreover, you will be able to dress up for the occasion with the all-new Foolish Helmet and Gloves.

The festive April Fool’s Day contracts will be available in the game starting from March 31.

“Rock Solid” Gear

The specs of the new equipment have been tweaked due to very high defense stats. Here are the changes:

Agent “Viking” 

Soon, we will tell you more about the agent’s story. In the meantime, let’s focus on the novelties. The set includes weapons and camos of the Asgard series: Quarter Circle 10 SMG Custom, TEC-9 and Khopesh as well as unique charms and achievements designed in the agent’s style.

Contracts with the set content have been added to the game. By completing their tasks, you can get weapons from the Asgard series, a box with the Agent Viking Skin, unique achievements in the agent’s style, a weapon charm, and other useful items. Contract details and the date of their launch will be announced in future publications when the new agent becomes available.

Streetwars (Halloween Wars)

For the duration of the holiday, the Halloween version of the map will substitute the regular “Streetwars” in “Team Death Match”.

You’re tasked with eliminating enemy soldiers, and the first team to reach 150 kills (or to gain more kills in the given period of time), wins!

Farm (Cemetery)

The mythical, eerie Halloween version of “Farm” makes a return this season! It replaces the regular “Farm” and “Farm: Sunset” in “Team Death Match”.

 

Take to the fields of battle set at a graveyard among the open caskets, moving scarecrows, flying witches, and pumpkin streetlights!

 “Heist” Map for the “Blitz” mode

The update brings the new map for the “Blitz” mode. The battle on the map will unfold in locations inspired by the namesake Special Operation “Heist.” The main field of battle is an elite bank located in a skyscraper. The rules remain the same: you have to find and defuse a bomb. However, the task is not as easy as it might seem – the enemies will do their best to derail the mission and detonate the charge.

The arm comes equipped with 5 unique attachments: a flame suppressor, two handles, a collimator sight, and a regular sight.

 

“The Big Score” Series

The looks of the models will remind you about the success of the mission – just look at the weapon frames and enjoy the detailed cutscene with the opening of the vault. The Kalashnikov USA Komrad 12 is an automatic shotgun boasting excellent specs. “Shapeshifter” Gear Set

“Shapeshifter” gear is equipment for hired robbers. It is essential for them to have good protection from bullets in shootouts with the police. The new gear has the best direct armour protection (more armour points for vests, and more damage absorption points for every shot); however, it is less appealing in all other respects since it features lower movement speed values, reduced number of secondary bonuses (for example, bonuses to recoil, spread and reload), and moderate health restoration, as well as a complete lack of armour replenishment.

In addition, due to the special distribution of armour points among the class vests of the set, it was possible to achieve an increase in the efficiency and value of the Rifleman on the battlefield – this class received the highest number of armour points. With the new armour, the Rifleman will be able to survive longer and gain precious seconds to complete the battle in his or her favor.

“Shapeshifter” Skins

The exclusive “Shapeshifter” skins offer a unique boost – they increase the overall sprint distance by 60%. The skins are the outfit of robbers who hide their identities with frightening masks. They instill fear in any opponent and are available in 4 class-specific versions: the mask of a wolf, a bull, a monkey, or a raven.

Get ready to face arachnids – predatory mutant beetles. This is a fundamentally new opponent with unique combat tactics waiting for its victim in the most unexpected places and protected by hard chitinous covers.

To fight the beetles, you can use the unmanned armored vehicle “Samantha” or, even better – a flamethrower. Infinite ammo will allow you to burn down whole hordes of bloodthirsty creatures.

 

By completing the whole Special Operation within a certain period of time, you will get the most generous rewards: a box of powerful “Parasite” weapons covered with chitin and poisonous saliva of bloodthirsty arachnids. The series includes HArms CQR, Fostech Origin-12, Bushmaster BA50, Thompson M1928 and XM556 Microgun.

 

The “Swarm” season offers cool ways of decorating your coat of arms and personal profile. The new Special Operation yields plenty of unique achievements. Get them all to demonstrate your skills to others.

Battle Pass “Swarm”

We are reworking our Battle Pass system. All future BP content will have the following changes implemented: 

The progression system has been recalibrated: 

  • The rewards for daily missions have been increased. 
  • Daily login streaks will now give BP points as well. 
  • Only the most active players will be able to complete the Battle Pass and earn quality rewards. 
  • BP points can now be gained as rewards through seasonal contracts.

The overall cost of content included in the Battle Pass exceeds 20 thousand Kredits. It includes:

  • The “Arachnid” skins for 4 classes (upon reaching level 50);
  • 10 permanent guns, including unique and season exclusive weapons such as the IWI Carmel and the SAI GRY LMG;
  • Charms / Achievements / Weapon skins.

Other changes:

  • Increased the number of BP points gained by winning matches in PvE. 
  • The price for purchasing a level has returned to 150 Kredits. 
  • The crate gained upon completing certain conditions in the Battle Pass has been removed. It is replaced with a special contract. This type of contract will be exclusive to players that have reached level 30 in the premium version of the Battle Pass. As a reward for its completion, participants will get powerful permanent weapons.
  • We’ve added the display of several rewards for a level. For example, players will now be able to preview 4 bodysuits.
  • You can now preview the looks of skin on your character before acquiring it.
  • Currencies and grenades have been removed from the rewards. You will gain visuals, guns, and boosters.
  • Added an option to purchase the premium Battle Pass from the welcome screen.
  • Added a crate with seasonal content for WF$.

Ruger Mk IV Lite

The USA pistol Ruger Mk IV Lite will become one of the best precision pistols. Its main rival is the CZ 75 Czechmate Parrot. The novelty differs from the latter thanks to higher accuracy and reduced maximum spread; it also boasts an increased damage multiplier to the head and limbs. However, the main advantage of the new pistol is a silencer that does not reduce damage.

 

The owner of the golden Ruger Mk IV Lite will be able to get a unique stripe for eliminating 999 opponents.

 

IWI Carmel

The new assault rifle offers combat specs similar to those of one of the most favoured weapon AK-12. The IWI Carmel differs from the latter due to a slightly increased rate of fire and a greater attachment variability. These advantages are offset by a lower effective range. Details.

 

AN-94 “Abakan”

In the game, the rifle fires two bullets in a semi-automatic firing mode. The weapon specs are perfectly balanced: excellent damage and rate of fire, good aiming range and the availability of a unique grip that reduces spread and increases the arm reloading speed. Details.

In the game, the new gun sports controlled recoil, excellent damage and a good rate of fire. Moreover, it can be equipped with a unique silencer that does not reduce damage. In some respects, the PP-19-01 “Vityaz” outperforms the AMB-17, but its advantages are offset by a slightly reduced hip-fire accuracy, as well as a smaller magazine and ammo. Details.

“Snow Leopard” Series

Expanded “Great Gatsby” series

SAI GRY LMG

The SAI GRY LMG is an improved version of the American weapon SAI GRY AR-15 well familiar to every Warface player. It is designed to occupy a niche between assault rifles and machine guns. The SAI GRY LMG differs from its predecessor in higher damage and a better rate of fire, as well as a more spacious magazine. The SAI GRY LMG favourably compares to other machine guns thanks to its excellent accuracy and soft recoil.

 

“Reaper” Pistol

“Reaper” is one of the most accurate pistols in Warface. It favourably compares to the Ruger Mk IV Lite, another novelty of the “Swarm” season, thanks to its higher damage, better range of fire, reduced spread, a larger magazine and one-of-a-kind looks.

 

Technical Improvements

Improved shotgun damage indicator 

A number of algorithms have been reworked to speed up the damage indicator response when firing shotguns. Previously, when hitting an enemy with a shotgun, the damage was registered separately for each pellet. Thus, in some cases, the processing time increased and there might be delays in the “damage cross” display.

Reworked mechanics

We often received requests to rework the key mechanics related to the character’s movement while shooting. Surely you have found yourself in a situation when the enemy actively uses the “crouch” and “prone” positions; as a result, the animation of the model is fully played even if the action is performed partially. In the current update, we have reworked the logic and mechanics of these positions. 

“Crouch/stand up” positions

The character position now depends on one of the chosen mechanics of using the command – “to hold a key” or “to press a key”. Two main points have been revamped: the synchronization of animations in the first and the third person views, and the effectiveness of the “crouch” command and its fading upon repeated activation.

  1. If the player presses the key, the character model will crouch completely, and if the button is held, it will perform the action depending on the time the key is being pressed. If it is a short-term action, the crouch animation will be partial and the character will soon return to its standing position. Upon a fleeting holding of the key, the enemy silhouette will practically not change in size – it is not easy to notice a change in the enemy height by a couple of centimeters.
  2. Each subsequent short-term key holding will be less effective, and at a certain point it will stop working altogether – the character will not take the “crouch” position. The ability to use the command will be restored after a few seconds of inaction.

“Prone/stand up” positions

The “prone” position has an intermediate “crouch” animation stage. Some players used to abuse this mechanic and deliberately skip the mentioned movement in the “prone/stand up” commands. In this case, the character animation looked jerky and abrupt. Now, it will be impossible to skip the intermediate “crouch” stage. This will also apply to those situations when the player performs various movements alongside the action; for example, uses an instant exit from the “prone” position through a jump.

Improved logic of slide sounds

If the player performed an action and collided with an obstacle (a wall), the sliding sound continued to be played and did not stop; some players deliberately exploited this in combat. Now, the sound is synced to the active action. If the slide gets interrupted ahead of time, the sliding sound will also stop playing.

Important

  • Improved behavior of the character model when being damaged. Now the reaction to impacts is smoother and more realistic – the character twitches and shakes less.
  • Added additional seasonal “Swarm” achievements. We will tell you about the ways of obtaining them in separate publications.
  • Added individual achievements for killing enemies with “Great Gatsby” weapons.
  • Optimized algorithm operation of various player actions in matches. We expect that this change will partially reduce the load on the server and the client sides while counting game achievements.
  • “Platform”: updated the surface type on the second floor of the location. Previously, the sounds of moving around the floor were similar to those played on the first floor; now the sound of walking on the second floor will be different – more sonorous (“metallic”) instead of dull. We’d like to learn your feedback on this change – be sure to share your impressions in the comments.
  • The PvP map selection in Quick Play has changed. New rotation features following maps: Team Deathmatch “Tunnels”, Free for all: “District”

Raid “Blackwood”

We are glad to present you the brand new Raid “Blackwood” that has already been mentioned in the development roadmap for 2020. The Raid will feature one-off bosses, different completion order and other unique features! You join “Omega Black” and set off on your first raid under the command of Oberon White. The goal is to retake the research base captured by Warface forces and prevent Blackwood secret developments from falling into the opponents’ hands.

 

The raid “Blackwood” is a blend of new mechanics and the most successful gameplay of the previous raids. It will feature bosses with one-off features, a large open location to explore, role separation, teamwork, “meaty” gameplay, and much more.

The SpecOp “Blackwood” employs a cyclic reward system already familiar to you from “Hydra”. A week is allotted for mission completion. During this time you can destroy bosses in a different order. Once the cycle is over, you will automatically receive from one to three boxes with a reward. Therefore, each time you complete the raid you need to kill a new boss last. Details.

A new map “Blackwood Base” for the “Storm” mode inspired by the Raid “Blackwood” has already appeared in the game. Blackwood Weapon Series

By completing the Raid “Blackwood” you will be able to earn unique weapons of the “Blackwood” series. Including such arms as F90 MBR, Tavor TS12 Custom, ACR CQB Custom, H&K G28 and M134-GAU19b Hybrid. By killing opponents with the guns of this series, you can add a new stripe to your achievement collection.

By killing 10 000 enemies with the Blackwood guns, you can unlock a new distinction — the stripe “Dark Choices”.

Chiappa Triple Threat

The Chiappa Triple Threat is a new semi-automatic Medic weapon that offers high damage, excellent rate of fire, good hip fire accuracy and decent effective range. Moreover, the gun deals equal damage to the body and to the extremeties. However, since it is a break-action shotgun (like the familiar double-barreled gun), you can fire it only three times before having to reload it. 
 
In terms of gameplay, the Chiappa Triple Threat resembles the so much favoured Christmas Gingerbread Gun; however, the possibility to perform the third shot makes the new arm more versatile and deadly. 

 

Proud owners of the golden version of the Chiappa Triple Threat can receive a one-off stripe by eliminating 999 enemies.

 

 

“Apache” Series

The weapons of this series depict a warrior of the famous North American Apache tribe in war paint and wearing a recognizable headdress made of eagle feathers. The strong-willed Apaches are known for their excellent fighting skills. The arms included in the series will certainly appeal to everyone who is not new to the ways of war.

H&K 121

The H&K 121 has expanded the Rifleman machine gun lineup. Its toughest competitor is the Stoner LMG A1 to which the new weapon compares favourably thanks to an increased rate of fire, better accuracy, a larger magazine, and a higher damage multiplier to the arms. These advantages are offset by a slightly lower damage, moderate range and ammo.

 

The owners of the golden version of the H&K 121 can get a unique stripe by eliminating 999 opponents.

 

 

New Seasonal RM Skins

Our new seasonal Ranked Matches camos were inspired by the playing cards. The skins are decorated with colourful images of cards flying in different directions and framing lifeless “ladies” and “kings”. The design conveys a clear message: the owner of such a skin is no joke! The series includes skins for such weapons as F90 MBR, Tavor TS12 Custom, SIG MPX SBR Custom, Truvelo CMS 20×42 mm, Maxim 9 and the Gerber Tomahawk.

Technical Changes

Additional changes to the movement system are still in development, but as part of this update, we are applying server settings in the game, which are already working and include the “60 Hz” mode and increased data throughput capacity within the server.

 

Improvements to the action synchronization system

We have recently told you how in-game events sometimes create a short-term, but abnormally high load on server algorithms. Such a peak load causes micro-delays when performing in-game actions for example, dealing damage, moving characters, etc.

As result of the study of the previously collected data, we have elaborated a plan and carried out measures aimed to eliminate the “load peaks”. We will talk about further system improvements in future publications.

Other Changes

Important

  • Reworked the system of log-in rewards.
    • Now in one set there can be several reward streaks instead of just one (at the moment, there are three of them).
    • To access the next streak, you must complete the previous one without interruption.
    • In reward sets of several streaks the last one will repeat. After completing it without interruption, you will return to the beginning of the same streak instead of the first one.
    • The last streak contains the most valuable rewards.
    • The entire set and the streaks now have separate timers. At the moment, 7 missed days reset the progress of the current streak and return you to the previous one; while 30 missed weeks reset the progress of the entire set.
  • The “Quick Play” matchmaking rules have been updated: now the user will not be able to join the match from which he or she was kicked.
  • The rules of the “Storm” mode have been changed:
    • the round time for each side was reduced to 10 minutes (it used to be 15);
    • the fighters of both teams will now respawn faster;
    • the time required to capture a command post has been reduced;
    • now for the fastest possible capture of a command post, you need 3 soldiers instead of 4;
    • the ratio between the time spent in the match and the rewards received (both for the first victory of the day and in case of victory/defeat) has been preserved.

  • Added identification of players who found a match together and entered it as a battle group (“stack”). Color indicators are displayed next to nicknames in rooms, as well as on loading screens, in-game and after-match statistics screens.
    Please note: if you are invited/join an already found room, or when you re-enter the match, the stack indicator will not be displayed since the main principle (joint search for a match) is not observed.
  • Added 3 marks and 3 badges for victories and the first place on the map “TDM Phantom Zone”.

Raid “Hydra” 

The new Raid “Hydra” is already available. While creating “Hydra”, the developers’ team decided to get back to the basics, making the gameplay intuitive and more “meaty” unlike that of the latest Raids such as “Pripyat”, “Sunrise” and “Mars” that featured a large number of complex mechanics and a well-developed plot.

In “Hydra” players will have to defend a special terminal located in the center of the map, with each enemy wave being more dangerous than the previous one. In total there are 20 waves. During the last one players will become engaged in the final stand-off with a powerful boss.

Upon completing the Raid, you can get 15 new achievements, one of which is a secret. To collect all the badges, marks and stripes, you will have not only to defeat the enemies but also demonstrate an excellent teamwork.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Starting from the 10th wave completed, you will be able to get rewards including temporary and permanent “Hydra” weapons. The series includes popular models for Riflemen, Medics, Engineers and Snipers and their corresponding camos. Of course, 10 000 kills made with “Hydra” weapons will bring you a unique stripe “Hydriform”!

Tickrate Improvements

The speed of information exchange between the game client and the server (TickRate) in PvP matches has been significantly increased – up to 60 transmissions per second.

THE TICKRATE ON SERVERS HAS BEEN DOUBLED!

This is an important change that will improve the accuracy of character positioning in battle. After updating the motion registration system transition to a higher tickrate is a logical step that will increase users’ comfort in the game and complete a long period of work aimed at improving the movement system.

KEL-TEC SUB2000

We are glad to present you a new secondary weapon which stands out among its peers thanks to its elegant looks and impressive specs. Thanks to an almost complete absence of spread, the Kel-Tec SUB2000 allows its owner to make accurate and deadly shots. The gun’s advantages are offset by a moderate rate of fire and semi-automatic shooting mode. The Kel-Tec SUB2000 is meant to become one of the most accurate secondary weapons, just like Taurus Judge invariably remains the benchmark for melee revolvers/pistols.

 

By killing 999 enemies with the golden weapon version, you will be able to get a unique stripe.

 

STEN MK IIS

The Sten MK IIS is a cool Rifleman primary that packs a superb punch. The weapon can boast an integrated silencer and two unique sights – a fast zoom front sight and a 2x scope. It will be up to you to choose at what distance to open fire since the gun will be equally effective at short and long ranges.

 

The owner of the golden Sten MK IIS can unlock a unique stripe by killing 999 enemies with this weapon.

 

HOWA TYPE 89 CUSTOM

We are glad to present you the Howa Type 89 Custom – a new powerful weapon in the Rifleman’s arsenal. As for combat performance, the AK-12 and the CZ 805 BREN A2 are its closest rivals. Among the main advantages of the Howa Type 89 Custom are its superb damage, and good range. In addition, the gun is effective at any distance; it can kill your enemy with a single headshot. Moreover, the arm boasts a comfortable recoil and three unique accessories.

 

By killing 999 enemies with the golden version of this weapon, you will be able to get a sleek stripe.

 

M4 CUSTOM

This Engineer primary can compete in efficiency with the most popular PvP guns. A more manageable recoil, greater range and slightly increased head damage distinguish the M4 Custom from another recently presented novelty Cobalt Kinetics Stealth Pistol. Among other weapons, the carbine also stands out due to its flashy looks while four unique attachments make this gun even more desirable!

 

ACR CQB CUSTOM

Another novelty for “Engineers” that will definitely appeal to you is the ACR CQB Custom! It is a utility arm since it is lethal at close and medium distances. Thanks to a high-capacity magazine and excellent sights, the ACR CQB Custom will be able to become one of the best PvE guns for Engineers.

 

EXTENDED “IDOL” SERIES

The “Idol” series has been extended with new weapons which depict the most recognizable attributes of such a popular cultural phenomenon as “retrowave” – sunset and palm trees on the coast of Miami or Los Angeles, designed in neon colors. “Idol” will appeal to many users apart from romantics nostalgic for the 80s. The series includes some of the most popular guns in the game: CZ 805 BREN A2, Kel-Tec KS7, AM-17, SV-98, Maxim 9 and the Balisong Knife. Although futuristic supercars have not yet appeared in Warface, the new “Idol” items will become a bright neon touch of this update.

By eliminating opponents with the “Idol” weapon series, you can get a unique badge, mark and stripe. If you want to get your hands on even more achievements, earn expert stripes of any gun model!

FRAGMENTATION GRENADE FG4

The line-up of offensive weapons has been expanded with a new fragmentation grenade FG4. It offers an increased range and higher damage than the M26, but since it is heavier, the FG4 can be thrown at relatively short distances.

Certain weapon specs have been improved including those of WF$ guns; some body skins now boost sprint distance, and all sniper rifles deal increased damage to cyborgs.

REWORKED RAID “EARTH SHAKER”

Traditionally, Raids have three difficulty levels in the game: “Easy”, “Normal” and “Hard”. “Earth Shaker” is one of our first Raids; so, historically, its settings differed from the rest. In this update, “Earth Shaker” has been redesigned to bring it to the common difficulty standards.

We have removed the “Nightmare” difficulty in order to totally rework the “Hard” level. Do not get upset by the absence of your favorite difficulty – now it will be even easier to earn unique rewards. The second tweak to the Raids is the rewards update. Now you have more chances to get permanent “Earth Shaker” helmets on any difficulty level.

Golden Smoke Grenade

After the visual update of smoke screens, the golden version of the grenade lost its distinctive features and the unique effect. It has been upgraded: the animation of grenade explosion has been reworked; moreover, now there will be sparkling particles in the smoke cloud. Watch the video below to see the described changes.

New SED Items

We are glad to present new equipment and weapon for the SED, which will allow you to diversify the class combat strategy and its habitual gameplay.

The new “Mercury” gear set will give fresh gaming experience to those who were not “hooked” by the original SED. The modules increase the robot’s speed of movement and reduce its armor. Thus, the SED will be able to assume the role of a more mobile but less enduring fighter. At the same time, the previous armor sets will remain unchanged.

Apart from the equipment, the SED will also acquire a new weapon M134-GAU19b Hybrid. It stands out among other SED weapons thanks to an incredibly high rate of fire. In addition, the new weapon overheats and cools faster meaning that the arm is more suitable for shooting in deadly short bursts rather than for continuous fire.

 

The “Mercury” equipment and the M134-GAU19b Hybrid machine gun are already available for Crowns in the game shop.

Remastered “Blackgold” map

Much time had passed since the location creation, so it required being brought to modern standards. While reworking the map, the developers paid attention not only to its appearance but to the gameplay as well. “Blackgold” is now more balanced and dynamic. Moreover, some “problem areas” have been eradicated, for example, unintended vulnerable spots.

 

The map became more “living” after lighting adjustment and replacement of objects and textures with more detailed and modern ones. At the same time, now players are more visible against the background. The location is now even more atmospheric thanks to new animations, and special visual and sound effects that guarantee a complete immersion into the gameplay!

Despite all the changes, the map has retained its familiar appearance and will certainly be of interest to both project veterans and beginners.

“Gorgona” Series

“Gorgona” is a new weapon series and camos that will appear in one of our future Battle Passes. The new weapons look amazing! Bright flames, frame parts as if oozing poison, green snakes and an image of a real Gorgon will remind your enemies of the well-known myths… and the long-forgotten fear…

Reworked damage indicator

The damage indicator (“cross”) is one of the oldest interface elements. It is extremely important for every fighter at every game stage. At the same time, the previous version of the “cross” often confused users and did not communicate the expected information during the gaming process. We decided to fix it by reworking its mechanics and making them more intuitive.

Reasons for Reworking

New mechanics are much simpler and clearer.

  • Now the ”cross” sports both indicators: damage dealt to the enemy’s health as well as to the armor.
  • The size of the indicator now depends on the current state of the enemy in a gun battle.
  • The more you hit the enemy, the more damage you deal him; therefore, the size of the displayed “cross” grows. In other words, the weaker the enemy is, the larger the indicator will become with every hit.
  • The full damage indicator means the death of the enemy.

Thus, the new system provides more understandable data about your shooting efficiency, the state of the enemy and your chances of winning the battle.

The game now features 24 new achievements at once! You can get them in PvP battles on 4 classic maps – 6 achievements for each map: 3 marks (win 10/25/50 matches) and 3 badges (take the 1st place 25/50/100 times).

Battle Royale: Exclusion Area

The map “Exclusion Area” makes its return to the game. Its story will unfold immediately after the events of the Special Operation “Pripyat”. The remnants of the Warface and Blackwood forces are under the mortal threat of radiation. In attempts to simply survive, “free-for-all” is the only principle they apply.

  • Optimized algorithms of account data storing and processing.
  • Optimized resource consumption by models of some weapons in the first-person view.
  • Added special achievements to mark Valentine’s Day.
  • Added a new smoke grenade “Tornado” and its unique achievements.
  • The location of hip and aiming mode accuracy parameters in the game interface has changed. Now the comparison of different weapon models when choosing a SED is more correct.

  • Now achievements for killing enemies with the “Idol” weapons can be obtained by using the following models of the series that previously did not count for achievement unlocking: FN FAL DSA-58, Winchester 1887, Desert Tech MDR‐C, AMP DSR‐1, S&W M&P R8 and M48 Bowie knife.
  • The indicated “Idol” weapons are already available in the game shop!
  • Smoke Grenade “Morion”: the smoke effect is optimized to increase performance.
  • The size of the league icon in the player’s personal card has been reduced.
  • “Palace”: at one point, the QuickScope player logo has been placed on the wall.
  • The lines “Accumulated Warface Dollars” and “Accumulated Crowns” have been removed from the player personal statistics.
  • Minor localization corrections.
  • For future equipment developments, added the ability to resist damage dealt by a certain weapon type. At the moment, no items have this characteristic.
  • Improved the in-game ban timer for more accurate calculation of the ban expiration time.
  • Improved the nickname verification logic at the stage of name creation. Now, if the nickname is occupied or does not meet the requirements, the “Create” button will be inactive, and a notification giving the reason for it will be displayed above.
  • Achievements for future events and winners of the Armageddon League tournament have been added.
  • The friend list capacity has been increased (from 100 to up to 120 people).
  • Remington Model 870 “U.S.”, M4A1 “U.S.”: updated the durability and repair cost values.
  • Barrett M98B: now the weapon takes up less space on the screen when viewed in the first person view.
  • The visual style of Blackwood skins has been slightly changed. Now it will be easier to distinguish between fighters of different teams. Further changes are planned.

  • Quick Play: now, in case of a long search for a room, the game will offer to switch to a neighboring regional server to speed up the process. The search for a match in regions other than the one selected in the game client at the start of the game will not begin without your consent.
  • Added the current match status verification for an in-game pause in Ranked Matches. Now, if after the pause the match should end automatically, it will not be activated.

How to download updates for Warface for the Nintendo Switch?

To download the updates for Warface, you have three options:

  • let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated, and didn’t completely turn it off

If not…

  • try to launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;

OR

  • select the game > press either + or – to go to the Options page > select Software update > select Via the Internet.

To check that you have the latest version installed, simply select the game on the Home Menu, and press – or + to go to the Options: the version number is displayed just below the game title.
