Ace Attorney 6: some details on Case 3, more returning characters confirmed

NB: this post contains details that could be considered spoilers by some fans. Make sure to keep that in mind if you plan to read it (along with all subsequent posts about the game).Gyakuten Saiban 6This week, Ace Attorney 6 will once again be featured in Famitsu magazine (probably the last major article with new details before the game’s release, on June 9th). This time around, the new details will focus on the third case of the game, which sees Maya Fey once again accused of murder (we don’t know who the victim is right now).

During Case 3, Phoenix Wright will have to deal with the “Dragons of the Rebellion”: a revolutionary group which has been taking action in the shadows in Kurain Kingdom. Unfortunately, that’s all we know about them right now, but there’s no doubt they are involved in the murder case Maya Fey is tried for. Given the nature of the group, it’s quite likely one of their members is the murderer.

The preview scan below shows a brand new artwork for the game, and confirms that Miles Edgeworth and Simon Blackquill (the main prosecutor of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies) are both back. We already knew they would be in the non-canon short stories, but it wasn’t clear whether they would be in the main game. Also, we don’t know exactly what role they will play in the story.

The preview scan also allows us to see Ema Skye in Kurain, the crime scene (with the victim), Maya Fey in the Detention Center of a police station in Kurain Kingdom (she’s apparently wearing her usual spirit medium clothes, from the previous Ace Attorney games), a new witness, and more (if you squint hard enough!).

Here’s the preview scan:

Ace Attorney 6 (3DS) comes out on June 9th in Japan. A European and North American release has already been confirmed.
