Today, Nintendo made several announcements for Splatoon 2 on the first day of gamescom 2017. You can find them all in the video below, but keep reading if you want some more details!

Here’s the special video message from Hisashi Nogami:

First, we have a new Battle Stage (for Turf Wars and Ranked Battles), called Manta Maria. It will be available on August 25th/26th, at the usual content update time (check out this post for more details).

Next, we have a new type of Special Weapon, called the Bubble Blower. As the name implies, it allows you to blow bubbles, that can explode and splat everything near them. A great weapon for offense… but also defense! It will be first be available as part of a set including the Forge Splattershot Pro, coming on September 1st/2nd at the usual content update time (check out this post for more details).

Finally, we have a brand new stage for Salmon Run, called Lost Outpost. It will be available in a few hours, when the latest update (Ver. 1.2.0) is released. At first, it will only be available in local multiplayer, but then will be available online when Grizzco is hiring.

About the update, it will be released in a few hours, following some maintenance. You can find details about the maintenance on this page, and the full patch notes for the update (Ver. 1.2.0) on this page! In Early September, there will be another udpate, this time focusing on some Special Weapons and some Main weapons.

For all the latest content updates (new maps, weapons, etc.), make sure to check out this post! As for Splatfest, it’s that one!
