- adds new playable characters from the Ninja Gaiden series:
- Ryu Hayabusa
- An unprecedented hero possessing three “Shinobi” emblems. His unique strategy, “The Dragon Ninja,” increases the speed and attack rate of the controlled hero by 15%.
- Ryu Hayabusa’s Player Hero Trait: Increases the number of “Speed” and “Power” emblems he possesses by 50%. After using Transcendence on him, both are further enhanced to a 70% increase, making him a hero who can gather those emblems very easily.
- Ayane
- Her Unique Strategy “Mugen Tenshin Style” increases the attack power of heroes possessing the “Speed” emblem by 50%. This ability serves as a core asset when building a ninja-themed team.
- Ayane’s Player Hero Trait: Increases her attack power by 7% for each “Shinobi” emblem she has. Ryu Hayabusa has three “Shinobi” emblems of his own, so if you form a bond with him, your attack power increases by 21%!
- Additionally, by using Transcendence on Ayane, she gains the “Grace” emblem and a trait that restores health for every 50 enemies defeated.
- Rachel
- Her Unique Strategy “Fiend Blood” doubles the attack power of heroes possessing the “Might” emblem. This ability is especially good for “Independent” heroes!
- Rachel’s Player Hero Trait: Increases her attack power by 10% for each “Might” emblem she has. After using Transcendence on her, she gains an effect that causes defeated enemies to explode, as well as the “Flower of War” emblem, giving her excellent compatibility with Kai.
- Momiji
- Her Unique Strategy “Heaven Breaker” increases attack power by 5% for each “Speed” emblem. It is expected to perform well in “Speed” builds around strengthened “Speed” emblems.
- Momiji’s Player Hero Trait: Increases the number of heroes shown by the Crystal Saplings by +1 during gameplay. After you use Transcendence on her, she gains the “Flower of War” emblem and a trait that restores 10% health upon entering an area, allowing a stable strategy to be achievable.

- While it requires a lot of Karma Embers, this feature adds new emblems to heroes with few and alters the effects of their unique strategies.

- You can now raise your hero’s level cap in the Hall of Bonded Souls with Karma Embers.

- This is a time-limited challenge where players strive to progress as far as possible before the timer runs out. Defeat powerful enemies to extend your time. You can also gain Crystal Saplings in this mode!

- This is a mode where the aim is to defeat Gouma under various conditions. Players can challenge themselves up to the highest traversal level achieved in normal mode. You receive first-time clear rewards for clearing each level.
- makes djustments: Traversal Levels
- The highest unlocked traversal level will be shared across all heroes, allowing any hero to attempt the next traversal level once it has been cleared. Additionally, from Traversal Level 1 onward, the amount of cumulative level increase upon clearing will be enhanced, becoming greater as the traversal level rises.
- makes adjustments: Summoning Skills
- The damage of all summoning skills will be increased, with a focus on skills that were difficult to deal a lot damage with. Additionally, the damage reduction rate of the special barrier that blocks Summoning Skills in Traversal Level 6 will be lowered, making it easier to deal damage.
- makes adjustments: Unique Weapons
- Heroes equipped with unique weapons will now have their attack power permanently increased by 50%. Please note that the new “Transcendence” feature can only be performed by heroes who possess unique weapons. Take this opportunity to start collecting unique weapons!

New Features
- Added the new heroes Ryu Hayabusa, Ayane, Rachel, and Momiji.
- Added the new game mode Training Hall.
- Note that to challenge yourself in the Training Hall, you must have already defeated Gouma at least once.
- The highest Traversal Level you can attempt in the Training Hall is the max Level where you have defeated Gouma with any hero in normal playthroughs.
- You can also obtain a First Completion Reward for each Traversal Level completed in the Training Hall.
- Added the new game mode Void of Ephemerality. The option “The Depths and the Void” will be added to the Great Hall, and from there you can select either the Depths of Torment or the Void of Ephemerality.
- Note that to challenge yourself in the Void of Ephemerality, you must first defeat Gouma and save your stats as a Soul Record on the Results screen.
- Depending on the results of your run in the Void of Ephemerality, you can also obtain Records of Sin.
Added the timed battle mode Void of Ephemerality in response to high demand from players. Unlike in the Depths of Torment, Trials triggered during each Phase in the Void of Ephemerality will not weaken the player hero. The game will end when the time runs out, but the time limit will be extended slightly each time you defeat powerful enemies like One-eyed Ogres, so you’ll have to use more aggressive strategies to achieve victory. To make it more beneficial to complete difficult missions where you fight strong enemies like One-eyed Ogres in the Depths of Torment, we have added treasure chests with additional Spirit Essence that appear only after the mission is complete.
You can obtain Records of Sin based on the amount of Spirit Essence you have acquired in both of these modes, giving you the freedom to select whichever play style is more enjoyable for you.- Made it possible to activate Transcendence, a feature allowing you to upgrade your heroes to even greater heights.
- In the Hall of Bonded Souls, you can expend Karma Embers to activate Transcendence for heroes whose Unique Weapons have been unlocked. You can also deactivate Transcendence, which will return all of your expended Karma Embers.
Transcendence is a new element added in response to requests for ways to permanently upgrade heroes. While it costs a large amount of Karma Embers, it enables upgrades in the form of additional Emblems for heroes with fewer Emblems, changes to Unique Tactics with limited usability, and expansions to strategy based on each hero’s unique characteristics. It will also offer status enhancements, so activating it can be a strategic way to challenge yourself in Traversal Levels that were once too difficult to complete. Deactivating Transcendence will also reimburse all of your expended Karma Embers.
Activate Transcendence for a variety of heroes to see how it benefits you the most.- Made it possible raise a hero’s Cumulative Level by expending Karma Embers in the Hall of Bonded Souls.
This feature was also added in response to player requests. When the Cumulative Level is increased to certain points, the hero’s status will also increase. This affects the amount of damage dealt by summonable heroes when their Summoning Skill is activated, which increases the Cumulative Levels of various heroes whenever you attempt difficult Traversal Levels, giving you an edge in battle.- Added six tracks to Music in the Collection menu, all of which are unlocked from the start.
Adjustments / Improvements
- Increased Attack by 50% for heroes with Unique Weapons, regardless of whether they are the player hero or a summonable hero.
In the previous update, there was a bug that increased Attack by 100% regardless of whether the required conditions had been fulfilled if you had Player Hero Traits, Unique Tactics, or Records of Sin with the following effects:
Increases Attack by 〇〇% towards enemies with Burn. Increases Attack by 〇〇% towards enemies with Freeze. Increases Attack by 〇〇% towards enemies with Shock. Increases Attack by 〇〇% towards enemies with Disorient. This bug significantly affected the balance of game stats and also greatly widened the gap between heroes’ ability levels. In fixing this bug, the play feel will change greatly for heroes like Ginchiyo Tachibana and Mature Yukimura Sanada, who were added in the previous update and whose Traits include those listed above. For this reason, we have fixed the bug, but we have also made changes so that Attack will increase by 50% for all heroes whose Unique Weapon has been acquired and by 100% when Transcendence is activated.- Made the following adjustments in regard to King’s Cauldrons:
King’s Cauldrons now appear after the defeat of Level Bosses in the Desolate Expanse. The number of heroes who appear at King’s Cauldrons will not decrease for Traversal Level 2 and above. The amount of Tears of Blood paid at King’s Cauldrons at each Traversal Level has been adjusted.
Previously, there were cases where King’s Cauldron portals never appeared during a single playthrough, giving the player no chance to spend their hard-earned Tears of Blood before the game ended. Therefore, we made adjustments so that a King’s Cauldron will always appear after a Level Boss has been defeated in the Desolate Expanse. Additionally, because fewer heroes appeared at King’s Cauldrons in higher Traversal Levels, it became less beneficial to choose King’s Cauldron portals and or to activate Traits and Unique Tactics that provide Tears of Blood. For this reason, we made adjustments to prevent a decrease in heroes appearing across all Traversal Levels.- Made the following adjustments to portals:
Karma Embers and Tears of Blood no longer appear in the phase immediately after a Level Boss. The amount of Karma Embers you can acquire at Karma Ember portals has increased. The higher the Traversal Level, the greater the amount of Karma Embers.- Unified Traversal Level progress for all heroes so that if one hero has completed a Level, then any hero can attempt the next Level.
- Made it possible to raise the max Cumulative Level via the First Completion Bonus in the Training Hall. When a hero reaches certain Cumulative Levels above 500, their Movement Speed will permanently increase.
- Made changes so that your Cumulative Level will increase more after you have completed Traversal Level 1 and above.
Made it easier to increase the Cumulative Level now that the max Cumulative Level has been raised.- Added a fourth Increase Reroll Chances to the Enma’s Blessings that can be unlocked in the Hall of Bonded Souls.
- Made it less likely for the same hero to appear multiple times in a row when rerolling at a Crystal Sapling.
- Increased the limit for how many Karma Embers you can possess from 999,999 to 9,999,999.
- Adjusted the Effect Upgrades that can be obtained through “Vigor,” “Skill,” and “Speed” Emblems.
- Upgraded the Effect Upgrade “Launch Slashes” for the “Vigor” Emblem.
- Adjusted the amount of damage dealt with Summoning Skills.

- Reduced Gouma’s Attack when he appears under certain conditions in Traversal Level 6.
- Adjusted the Summoning Skill damage reduction for special barriers that defend against Summoning Skills.
- Made changes so your Cumulative Level will increase even when you have leveled up in the Depths of Torment.
- Made changes so that treasure chests will appear after you have completed missions to defeat strong enemies in the Depths of Torment. These treasure chests may include Spirit Essence.
- Reduced the amount of Karma Embers needed to obtain Records of Sin from the second record on.
Because the implementation of “Transcendence” and “Cumulative Level Increase via Karma Embers” have led to an increased demand for Karma Embers, we have greatly reduced the number of Karma Embers needed to obtain Records of Sin from the second record on. We also made it possible to convert Records of Sin into Karma Embers at a later point, depending on the rank of the Records of Sin you acquire, which allows you more freedom in selecting Records of Sin.- Made it possible to acquire Karma Embers based on the number of phases you have reached in the Depths of Torment.
- Adjusted the strength of enemies in the beginning of the Depths of Torment.
- Increased the number of Records of Sin you can obtain across all Traversal Levels after you have acquired a large amount of Spirit Essence in the Depths of Torment.

- Added the new mode the Depths of Torment. To challenge yourself in the Depths of Torment, you must first apply the update, defeat Gouma once, and then save your Soul Record on the results screen. You can obtain a new type of item, the Records of Sin, based on the results of your run in the Depths of Torment.

- New heroes Sophie, Ryza and Yumia have been added to the game!
- 7 tracks have been added to Music in the Collection, all unlocked from the start.
- We have added a Download Content option to the Great Hall. Update information can be viewed from the pause menu.
- At the War Banner of the King where you select heroes for your formation, a boost icon now displays to show which heroes are affected by the currently selected hero’s Unique Tactics.
- The boost icon displays yellow for heroes who activate the Unique Tactic and gray for those who do not.
- For example, if your current selection is a hero with the Unique Tactic “Increases Attack by 50% for heroes with the ”Wei“ Emblem,” the boost icon will display for heroes with the Wei Emblem.
- We have adjusted the hero display order in the Hero List tab of the Status Menu. Also, it now shows the slot number of heroes in your Formation.

If you feel the background music is too quiet during gameplay, try raising BGM Volume and lowering Voice Volume and SFX Volume.

How to download updates for WARRIORS: Abyss for the Nintendo Switch?
To download the updates for WARRIORS: Abyss, you have three options:
- let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated, and didn’t completely turn it off
If not…
- try to launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;
OR
- select the game > press either + or – to go to the Options page > select Software update > select Via the Internet.
To check that you have the latest version installed, simply select the game on the Home Menu, and press – or + to go to the Options: the version number is displayed just below the game title.
