Sine Mora EX: Nintendo’s interview with Reinhard Pollice and Brandon Sheffield

Developed by Digital Reality and Grasshopper Manufacture, Sine Mora is time travel shoot-‘em-up releasing on the Nintendo Switch this Summer. We still don’t have a release date for that game, but we do have an official interview with Brandon Sheffiled (Localiser, Designer) and Reinhard Pollice (Executive Producer).

The interview covers various topics, such as the game’s mechanics, they key differences between horizontal scrollers and vertical scrollers, the game’s plot, the biggest challenge encountered during localisation, the changes introduced in the “EX” version of the game, adding co-op to the game, and more.

Here’s an excerpt about a poem found in the game:

There’s a really old Hungarian poem called In The Sieve Of Time, by Endre Ady, that had never been translated before and I thought, “This is a job for a PhD, not for me.” But Digital Reality were like, “Can you just give it a shot?”, so I did. So in the Attract Mode, there is Hungary’s most famous poem. Something that was only translated for the first time with machine translation and me, and it is still only published within Sine Mora. I was actually looking around through libraries and I found that a bunch of his stuff has been translated and put into English, but just not that one. But that one had to do with time and death, so it was really appropriate.

Finally, here’s some screenshots for the game:
