PokéNews (Aug. 8, Round 2): Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon (Dusk Lycanroc) / Pokémon Duel

Today’s Pokémon news (Round 2), with more details about Dusk Lycanroc in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, but also…

  • Pokémon Duel
  • Pokémon World Championships

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon

Last week, Dusk Lycanroc was revealed during the latest episode of Pokémon no Uchi Atsumaru?! on TV Tokyo. Unfortunately, we didn’t get many details about this new form, not even how you will be able to get it in-game.

Fortunately, the latest issue of CoroCoro has some more details about Dusk Lycanroc, and thanks to the usual early leaks, said details are already available online! The magazine reveals that Dusk Lycanroc has both Accelrock and Counter, moves usually associated with the other two forms. Its ability is Tough Claws.

What’s more, CoroCoro reveals that Rockruff will be distributed from November 17th in Japan. Unfortunately, it’s not clear how (serial code, online distribution?), or what’s so special about this Rockruff.

The scan below confirms that it’s tied to Dusk Lycanroc… not to mention that there would otherwise be no need for a distribution: Rockruff is a pretty common Pokémon after all. Maybe this one will come with the required item to have it evolve in the Dusk form?

Pokémon Duel

Today, a new update for Pokémon Duel was released: you can find the official patch notes on this page! But now that the update is available, more details about the update are available.

First of all, we have a new type of item: the Carmonite, that boosts your figures to Level 10 (and fuses with them). There’s also new Room Matches, such as Halls with special restrictions (using specific types of Pokémon, for example), as well as a brand new League.

As for the new figures, we have:

  • UX: Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Beedrill
  • R: Avalugg, Pangoro
  • UC: Bergmte, Pancham

Looking for boosters? This update adds a new Orange Time Booster, guaranteed to hold Dragon-type or Ice-type Pokémon. There’s also a 10 pack booster, guaranteed to hold EX or UX drops.

Finally, the update adds two new Plates: one focused on Mega Evolutions, and one for the Eon Flute.

Here’s a trailer for the update:
