Japan: Nintendo to discontinue the remaining Mario Kart 8 bundle soon

On November 13th, last year, Nintendo launched two Wii U bundles for Mario Kart 8 (white and black models), just in time for the holidays. The bundle with the black Wii U was already discontinued a few months ago, but the Premium Pack with the white Wii U is still being sold at retailers… but not for much longer!

According to Nintendo’s website, the remaining Wii U bundle for Mario Kart 8 will be soon discontinued. Once discontinued, it will still be possible to find it in stores as long as retailers have units left in stock. Since the Wii U isn’t quite flying off the shelves, there isn’t any immediate “risk” of this specific bundle become scarce, but it’s still recommended to buy one as soon as possible if you’re interested.

A few days ago, Nintendo not one, but two Wii U bundles for Super Mario Maker (including one with an amiibo figure, which is a Limited Edition) in Japan. It’s pretty common for Nintendo to discontinue bundles/colours before new ones are released, therefore it’s pretty much guaranteed the Mario Kart 8 bundle is discontinued precisely because of the upcoming Super Mario Maker bundles.
