Dragalia Lost – Comprehensive list of issues (and possible fixes)

On September 27th 2018 (Japan, United States, Maccau, Taiwan, and Hong Kong) and late November (worldwide), Nintendo released Dragalia Lost on Android and iOS. Unfortunately, it did come with some issues, which is why we created this page: to list as many of them as possible, and offer workarounds and possible solutions (or simply more details, when there’s nothing that can be done).

We intend to keep this page updated as long as possible. If you see an issue missing, or if you’ve found a solution on your own, make sure to let us know in the comments below. Also, do note that this isn’t an official support page, just a handy page for fellow Dragalia Lost players.

In some cases, you may need to contact Nintendo support: you can find a link within the app, or on the official Nintendo website of your region. But before you do, make sure to check out the official FAQ, where you will find plenty of details about the game. You might find the answer to your question, or the solution to your problem, there!

Issue #1 – This device isnt authorised to play the game [Support Code: ???] (added on September 27th)

  • Devices impacted: rooted/jailbroken Android and iOS devices
  • Cause: on Android, this issue seems to pop up if your phone is rooted, or using a non-stock ROM (regardless of root status). To make sure you can play the game, download one of the many tools to check if your device passes the SafetyNet check: if it doesn’t, then the game will not run. On iOS specifically, this occurs if your device has been jailbroken in the past (regardless of whether it still is or not).
  • Fix or workaround: no fix is available, as this is standard protection feature for Nintendo games on smart devices. As a workaround, you can use tools to bypass the security check, but those are not guaranteed to work (and even if they do, future update will most like break things again).

Issue #2 – The screen does not respond when running the game [Support Code: ???] (added on September 27th)

  • Devices impacted: iPhone Xs and Xs Max
  • Cause: unknown.
  • Fix or workaround: to be fixed in the upcoming Software update. In the meantime, you can restart the game to get the screen working again.

Issue #3 – Issue when purchasing paid items [Support Code: ???] (added on September 29th)

  • Devices impacted: all devices
  • Cause: unknown
  • Fix or workaround: if you experience any issue while trying to purchase paid items, you can try one of the following solutions:
    • Tap the Shop icon in the home screen, then scroll down the “Diamantium & Luxury Items” menu and tap the “Complete Purchase” button.
    • Restart the app

If you’re still encountering an issue after trying both solutons, you will need to contact support.

By the way, in some instances, the purchase processing on the store side may take some time, so it’s recommended to wait a little bit and try again later.

Issue #4 – Stuck at co-op tutorial, cannot progress beyond the room creation step [Support Code: ???] (added on September 29th)

  • Devices impacted: all devices
  • Cause: unknown
  • Fix or workaround:developers are working on it, and a fix should be available soon. In the mean time, if you’re using a VPN to play, it’s recommended to avoid using it for now.

Issue  #5 – Many issues (too many issues to list here) (added on October 5th)

  • Devices impacted: all devices
  • Cause: unknown
  • Fix or workaround: check out this post for more details. Developers currently working on a fix, to be included in upcoming Software updates.

Issue  #6 – Treasure chest rewards sometimes cannot be obtained from defeating bosses in co-op (added on October 16th)

  • Devices impacted: all devices
  • Cause: unknown
  • Fix or workaround: updating the game to Ver. 1.0.6 makes the rewards appear on the battle result screen, even if the treasure chests do not appear after defeating a boss. This will be fully fixed with future updates.

Issue #7 – Game hangs in Chapters 5 / 4-1 Zethia and 6 / 4-4 Diadem of Light after updating to Ver. 1.1.2 (added on October 29th)

  • Devices impacted: all devices
  • Cause: bug introduced in Ver.1.1.2
  • Fix or workaround: issue fixed by downloading the latest data update (released on October 30th)

Issue #8 – In the High Midgarsorm’s Trial, “Storm Chaser” is dealing more hits than it should after updating to Ver. 1.1.2 (added on October 30th)

  • Devices impacted: all devices
  • Cause: bug introduced in Ver.1.1.2
  • Fix or workaround: none at the moment. Developers are currently working on a fix.

Issue #9 – Bread Displaying Incorrectly in the Dragon’s Roost, causing them to be unuseable in some cases (added on October 30th)

  • Devices impacted: all devices
  • Cause: bug introduced in Ver.1.1.2
  • Fix or workaround: fixed in Ver. 1.1.5.

Issue #10 – Some visual effects are not displayed correct (Naveed’s skill “Crystalline Blades”, Cerberus’ skill “Infernal Damnation”, Hypnos’ attacks and skills, Storm Sentinel’s attacks and skills) (added on October 31st)

  • Devices impacted: all devices
  • Cause: unknown
  • Fix or workaround: restarting the app will resolve this issue. All the damages and effects from these skills and attacks are being applied correctly. Developers are currently working on a fix.

Issue #11 – Issue with purchases (added on November 8th)

  • Devices impacted: all devices
  • Cause: unknown
  • Fix or workaround: fixed the in the latest Software update. If you’ve been impacted by this issue, please do the following:
  1. Tap Complete Purchases at the bottom of the Diamantium purchase screen or at the bottom of the Value Packs purchase screen.
    Tap Close when the message below appears:
    “The purchase process has been reinitiated. If an incomplete purchase currently exists, that purchase will now be completed.”
  2. Close and restart the game. Diamantium and Value Packs can now be purchased normally.

Issue #12 – Not enough rupies to complete the Halidom tutorial in Chapter 1, Story 4-6 (“With Holy Shard and Shadow”) (added on November 15th)

  • Devices impacted: all devices
  • Cause: unknown
  • Fix or workaround: developers currently investigating this particular issue.

Issue #13 – Issue impacting Lowen’s Skill: “Winds, Heal Us!” (added on November 21st)

  • Additional details: Lowen does not use it during quests when you ahve him as AI adventurer in your team. Occurs regardless of skill level. Issue does not occur when controlling Lowen directly.
  • Devices impacted: all devices
  • Cause: unknown
  • Fix or workaround: developers currently investigating this particular issue.

Issue #14 – Issue Regarding High Midgardsormr’s Trial (added on November 26th)

  • Additional details: “Storm Chaser” deals more hits than it should. Previously fixed, but popped back up in Ver. 1.2.0.
  • Devices impacted: all devices
  • Cause: unknown
  • Fix or workaround: fixed in the latest Software update.
