The latest episode of Nintendo Minute is the first part of their annual “Game of the Year” series. Once again, you can vote and try to win the games mentioned in the video. For more details about that, check out the description on YouTube!

Hi, we can’t believe it’s that time of year again but it is! It’s time for us to look back and think about all the great games we played in 2016. This will be a two part series so be sure to check back next week for the exciting conclusion where we reveal our pick for Game of the Year. We’re going to kick it off today by talking about our favorites in these categories.

Free Comic Book Day

Free Comic Book Day is an annual event taking place every year in May in the United States. Its main purpose is to bring readers to independent comic book stores, but also celebrate comics in general, introduce them to new readers, and thank comic book artists.

And last week, it was announced that VIZ Media would distribute a special book called The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess / Ocarina of Time — FCBD 2017 Edition. It’s a 32pages (black and white) book featuring excerpts from the manga adaptations of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Splatoon

Yesterday, Nintendo of America shared an excerpt from Episode 3 of the Unlocked TV show, with Shigeru Miyamoto explaining why Nintendo came up with motion controls with the Wii:

Next week (on December 21st), one lone game will be released on the Wii U Virtual Console service in Japan:
