PokéNews (Nov. 3): Pokémon GO getting daily bonuses / Genesect distribution

Today’s Pokémon news: Pokémon GO getting daily bonuses, but also…

  • Genesect distribution

Pokémon GO

Yesterday, Niantic shared some details about a new feature that will be added “soon” to Pokémon GO: Daily Bonuses. Basically, the developers want you to play every day, and they seem to have found a great way to achieve that. It’s pretty simple: by performing certain daily activities, such as catching a Pokémon or visiting a PokéStop once a day, you get a Daily Bonus. Do it several days in a row, and you get a bigger bonus!

Here’s some of the Daily Bonuses that will be available:

  • Catching a Pokémon every day: 500XP, 600 Stardust
  • Catching a Pokémon every day for 7 days straight: 2 000 XP, 2 400 Stardust
  • Visiting a PokéStop and spinning the Photo Disc every day: 500 XP,  a number of additional items
  • Visiting a PokéStop every day for 7 days straight: 2 000 XP, a greater number of additional items

It looks like the period for Daily Bonuses is not based on when you pick up your first bonus. For example, if you get a bonus on Tuesday at 2.30PM local time, you will be eligible for the next bonus on Wednesday from 12AM local time (not 2.30PM).

Here’s two screenshots for that new feature:
