Nintendo: new home page in Europe

In the past few months, Nintendo of Europe has made many changes to its official website. Some were small and barely noticeable (such as when the gamepages were gradually readied for the web eShop), some just could not be missed (like the renewal of the Home Page, last year). And Today, Nintendo launched a brand new version of its Home Page in Europe: you can click here to check it out!

The new Home page is fully responsive, and will therefore work with any type of screen: desktop, smartphone, tablet (that’s reponsive for you). The overall look seems based on the official Nintendo website in Japan, though without the focus on videos (that the web designers at Nintendo Co., Ltd seem pretty fond of).

There are videos on the page, but you need to click on them to launch them (via the proprietary video player, not YouTube). The “Upcoming Releases” and “Recently Released” “widget” is also back on the Home Page.

Other sections of the website have also had a complete refresh, such as the News section, but it uses the same template. Most of the website seem unchanged though, such as gamepages, the Nintendo Direct or the Support sections, etc. It’s not clear whether those will be updated in the future or not.

Here’s screencaps of the new Home page:

Since this new version of the Nintendo Home page is more in line with the Japanese equivalent, it makes one wonder if Nintendo of America’s website will get a similar refresh in the (near) future).

Thanks Axis1500 for the heads up.
