Nintendo Direct: Monster Hunter presentation announced for Thursday (no Nintendo Switch)

On Thursday, Nintendo finally revealed its brand new gaming platform: the Nintendo Switch. And exactly one week later, on Thursday (October 27th), Nintendo will stream a brand new Nintendo Direct presentation. This one is a bit special, as it will not be hosted by someone from Nintendo but by Ryozo Tsujimoto, Producer of… the Monster Hunter series.

Please note that the page clearly specifies that this presentation will not include any Nintendo Switch or mobile game news/announcements. In other words, whichever game ends up announced will most definitely be for the Nintendo 3DS (chances of a Wii U games range from extremely slim to non-existant).

Of course, the timing of this announcement is certainly intriguing. We’ve known for months that Capcom was expecting an unannounced Monster Hunter game to sell at least 2 million units during the current fiscal year. The fact that’s it’s being revealed this week, instead of the Tokyo Game Show, would imply they couldn’t announce it until now.

This new Nintendo Direct presentation dedicated to Monster Hunter will be streamed live on October 27th at the following time:

  • Europe: 1PM
  • UK: 12PM
  • North America (EST): 7AM
  • North America (PST): 4AM
  • Japan: 8PM

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like there will be a similar Nintendo Direct presentation for Europe and North America.

If that’s not enough for you, there will also be a Monster Hunter Tokuban 2016 Autumn livestream right after the Nintendo Direct presentation!
