  • Resolved the issue where players encounter the following issues when playing offline multiplayer game modes.
    • Affected game modes:
      • Thunder Shrine > Begin Playing – 2 Player Offline Multiplayer
      • Taiko Land > DON-Chan Band – 2-4 Player Offline Multiplayer
      • Taiko Land > Great Drum Toy War – 2 Player Offline Multiplayer
    • Observed issues:
      • Certain parts in the save data for 2P to 4P users are unintentionally reset
      • Errors were encountered afterwards when saving the game for 2P to 4P users
  • Resolved the issue of frame rate drops during play for game modes: Taiko Mode, Great Drum Toy War, DON-Chan Band, Online Ranked Matches, Online Room Match
  • Updated correct Online Ranked Match event name to “Dondoko Matsuri” on the “This Month’s Ranking Rewards” window.
  • Improved usability and overall game stability.

Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival – Ver. 1.2.1

  • Fixed some expressions in Taiko Mode
  • The “Refresh Music List” function was added to the “Select Song” screen when selecting a Taiko Music Pass item

Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival – Ver. 1.2.0

  • Release date: October 11th 2022 (North America) / October 12th 2022  (Japan)
  • Patch notes:
  • “Auto” has been enabled as an option for two-player offline play in Taiko Mode.
  • A display window for “This Month’s Ranking Rewards” has been added to the Online Ranked Match section.
  • The player’s current consecutive wins record has been added to the Online Ranked Match results display screen.
  • When the network communication was lost or compromised, or when sleep mode was initiated while the “Communication in progress” status was displayed on the loading screen, the loading process would occasionally take longer or stop altogether. This issue has been fixed.
  • Issues affecting DON-chan’s movements while playing have been fixed.
  • The following issues regarding the Extra Extreme difficulty level of “Gurenge” have been fixed:
    • The gauge did not fill up when playing this song in the “Great Drum Toy War”.
    • When using Concierge Mode without selecting a section, the song would start from section 5.
  • The music score for “Funiculi, Funicula” has been corrected.
  • The transition between different sections of the song “Colorful Voice” did not always work properly in the Extra Extreme difficulty when using Concierge Mode. This issue has been fixed.
  • When a significant number of toys were deployed in the “Great Drum Toy War”, the game would occasionally suffer from a processing lag. This issue has been fixed.
  • Motion control sensitivity has been adjusted for Players 2, 3 and 4 in the “DON-chan Band” mode.
  • Touch drums were displayed during Taiko Mode when using TV Mode. This issue has been fixed.
  • Other adjustments have been made to improve control stability and usability.

How to download updates for Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival for the Nintendo Switch?

To download the updates for Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival, you have three options:

  • let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated, and didn’t completely turn it off

If not…

  • try to launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;

OR

  • select the game > press either + or – to go to the Options page > select Software update > select Via the Internet.

To check that you have the latest version installed, simply select the game on the Home Menu, and press – or + to go to the Options: the version number is displayed just below the game title.
