Sky: Children of the Light – Ver. 0.28.0.308028
- Release date: January 16th/17th 2025
- Patch notes:
Season of Radiance
A world of color awaits you! Sky’s next Season introduces a feature that many players have been requesting: dyes! The Season of Radiance Guide welcomes you to Aviary Village’s new Dye Workshop, and through Seasonal Quests they’ll teach you about colored Light that can be gathered in the realms, and how you can use it to forge dyes to customize the colors of your outfits.
Three Spirits who you may recognize from Sky’s earliest Season will return, too! These Season of Gratitude Spirits come back to share in Sky kids’ discoveries, and this time, they’re bringing three new expressions, not to mention a variety of capes, outfits, instruments and more—and just about everything can be dyed!
The Radiance Guide offers two Ultimate Gifts for Season Pass holders to unlock while the Season is active. They’ll also bring a uniquely shaped cape which can be unlocked with Hearts even after the Season ends—a memento to mark the opening of the Dye Workshop.
Season of Radiance begins January 20th and runs through April 6th (all times Pacific). Content is accessible to all players who have progressed to at least the third quest from the Hopeful Steward.
New Feature: Dyeing Cosmetics
Transform your ensemble into unique creations! Over the course of Season of Radiance, eight different base colors will become available to gather from special Dark Plants in the realms—some colors will be more common than others. Use these base colors as their own dye, or mix them to create a total of over 70 colors!
- In 0.28.0, most capes, masks, and outfits (e.g. pants, dresses, tunics) have dyeable areas; items in other categories, such as head and neck accessories, are planned to become dyeable in 0.28.5. Some cosmetics are not dyeable—for example, hair color, Season pendants, collaboration items, and so on.
- You can preview color combinations before dyeing a cosmetic.
- Up to two different dyed versions of an item can be saved for you to wear as “Outfit Styles,” in addition to the original version.
- Some of the seasonal spells in the Radiance Spirits’ Friendship Trees will give dye.
Days of Fortune
Let the biggest reunion party of the year begin! From January 27th through February 9th, celebrate with Spirits in the Valley of Triumph, play minigames with friends, and dance to the best dance track this side of Eye of Eden.
Talk to the Event Guide in Aviary Village or Home to teleport to the center of the action in Valley of Triumph. That’s where you’ll find a new minigame waiting for you in the ice rink. You’ll also find some familiar Spirits joining in the celebration there, so be sure to say hello!
A felicitous dragon friend returns to share Light, and they’ll be floating in the air for you regardless of what time you visit them. You’ll be able to transform into a dragon chain with fellow Sky kids once again, and yes, the Secret Area accessible from the ground floor of Vault of Knowledge will be open to all.
The Fortune Gift Envelope will be back as well. This will be in the Friendship Trees of friends with whom you’ve unlocked the carry (piggyback) interaction and allows you to use 14 Candles to gift 5 Hearts. The Fortune Gift Envelope can be given once a day per person, like regular Heart gifts.
(Note: The Fortune Gift Envelope feature requires manual enabling, which means it will become available at approximately 00:00 on the day the event begins until approximately 23:59 the day it ends. Thank you for your understanding!)
Event Tickets
Five coin-shaped Event Tickets (previously referred to as event currency) can be forged each day by playing the new minigame. There are also 15 one-time bonus Tickets that can be gathered throughout the event!New Items
New cosmetics are available for IGC (in-game currency) and for purchase. Plus, three red and gold themed props can be unlocked for regular Candles, and once the event ends, those props will be added to the Nesting Workshop rotation to unlock later in the year.

Days of Fortune is available to all players who have at least started the third quest from the Hopeful Steward.
Days of Love
Celebrate all the different connections at the heart of Sky, and beyond—Days of Love arrives from February 10th through 23rd.
Check with the Event Guide in Aviary Village or Home to teleport to where the event unfolds: the Jellyfish Cove area in Starlight Desert. That’s where a strange crystal formation has appeared from meteor showers, glowing mysteriously in response to emotes. Work together with other Sky kids to discover the secrets hidden within these shimmering shards!

Join Us to Stress Test an Upcoming Feature!
If you saw our Community Concert during the 5th Anniversary last year, you might remember the special limited feature that allowed performers to share their music performances with other players across servers when Festival Tech was active…
And perhaps you’ve wondered what we have in store for the Aviary Village concert hall since Season of Duets wrapped up…
One of our projects is an upcoming feature which allows players to enter a queue in the concert hall to share a brief musical performance on stage for the rest of the concert hall, for audiences anywhere from a couple dozen to a couple hundred people.
Some parts of this upcoming feature need to be verified in the live version of the game, similar to how we had a dress rehearsal test before the AURORA concert launch. So before we officially launch this feature, we’re inviting everyone to be part of dress rehearsal stress tests in the concert hall!
We’ll temporarily enable this feature in the concert hall from 10:00 am Friday January 17th to 10:00 am Tuesday January 21st PST (UTC -8) for this stress test! If you’ve completed the 2nd quest from Season of Duets, you can participate in two ways:
- Join the queue in the concert hall to perform a short song—all ability levels welcome!
- Join the audience to listen to your fellow Sky kids’ melodies.
The data we get from this will be super helpful to work out bugs and potential surprises on the backend, so thank you in advance if you choose to join. Otherwise, stay tuned for more news about this feature in future updates!
Aviary Village Updates: Event Announcement Board and More
The construction crew has been at work in Aviary Village! You’ll notice a few changes in the area:
- There’s a new announcement board in the spot where the Event Shop entrance used to be. When an event is active, it will tell you how many days are left. If an event is not active, it will count down the days until the next event begins.
- Event Guide Spirits will appear near the event announcement board when their event is active. They’ll offer the option to teleport to their event area, and once you’re in that area, you can check with Spirits and such there for event items.
- In the plaza at the entrance of Aviary Village, the decorative pole has been relocated, and in its place is a Constellation Table where you can view your friends’ stars.
Even More Updates
- As promised in our last patch update, the in-game News feed is now available for players on Switch, Playstation 4/5, PC, and Steam Deck. This means players on all platforms can easily access critical information about in-game events, patch notes, and bug fixes. A few additional notes:
- For non-mobile platforms, we recommend using the QR code provided in-game for the best browsing experience.
- Players on older or less powerful mobile devices, particularly iOS, may experience some performance issues when accessing the News feature.
- Based on player feedback, we’re working on some updates to outfits with the longer term goal of making it easier to select shoes for certain outfits. This may happen gradually, but in 0.28.0 you’ll see some changes such as a new tab in the outfits closet for onesies, i.e. outfits where shoes are a set part of the ensemble.
- If you’ve set your game to start in your Nest, the game login sequence will load directly into your Nest, instead of transitioning through cutscenes from Home and Aviary Village.
- We’ve increased the max length of Shared Memory recordings from 30 seconds to 60 seconds!
Improvements and Bug Fixes in this update include:
Highlights
- Jam Station: Instruments that are categorized as placeables, like Duets pianos, are now a sound option.
- Fixed sustained instruments cutting off abruptly when played rapidly.
- Added a closet in the concert hall.
- Fixed a bug that could get a player stuck in the Trial of Air if they were handholding and then fell off a platform.
- Increased the maximum amount of medium and large items that can be placed in a Shared Space.
Gameplay
- Increased max polyphony possible for instruments.
- Resolution that should fix a bug that was preventing completion of meditation Daily Quests.
- Don’s Memory Spirit in the Office can be completed properly again.
- Fixed an issue that could lead to a player becoming softlocked when reliving a Spirit’s memory.
- Fixed some bugs with the beacon icon/signal, which could get stuck in certain cases such as transitioning between parts of Hidden Forest, skipping the bell tower sequence in the Village area of Daylight Prairie, or using the Return Shrine to go back to the Graveyard area of Golden Wasteland.
- Players in their own Nest are able to properly join a friend in their Nest.
- Players can properly collect Light fragments during the Leaping Dancer’s memory quest.
- Fixed a bug preventing players from interacting with friends or Spirits they summon from the Constellation after being in certain levels.
- Props can no longer be placed on top of the Constellation Table (and thus blocking it) near the realm portals in Aviary Village.
- Fixed handhold and carry breaking when using the Cave of Prophecy STAR pin.
- Fixed an issue where handholding a friend prevented a player from leaving the Windpaths via tunnels to other levels.
Cosmetics
- On the tier 2 teal cape, increased the contrast between the main cape color and the border color.
- Fixed an issue with props that could cause disruption to player movement in certain cases.
- Color Bubble machine prop reacts as intended to player’s cape color.
- Due to a bug, if a player had multiples of an item unlocked from the Nesting Workshop and placed them in their Nest, visiting friends could only see one of them. Now, each duplicate item is properly visible.
- Avatar’s legs won’t appear stiff and unnatural when wearing shoes.
- When using the Wonderland Cafe Corridor prop, other players will shrink down as intended when entering its door.
General Fixes and Improvements
- Knees will no longer bend during avatar flight animation.
- In the Settings menu, the label for the “Home” button is updated to “Portals.”
- You can once again trigger a “trip and fall” animation while falling in motion.
- When teleporting to the SkyFest Aviary Village using the SkyFest Wireframe Cape, the parade performers now walk their full parade route instead of causing a supernatural Spirit traffic jam.
- Fixed a bug that caused markers for Seasonal Spirits to appear on maps for new players who hadn’t yet been through Eye of Eden.
- Fixes for bugs related to Player Creations:
- Viewing a Shared Memory of yourself holding a plushie prop will no longer cause a crash.
- We have (re)solved the mystery of props that would inexplicably disappear from some players’ Shared Spaces, so those should no longer vanish into thin air.
- Fixed sustained notes playing infinitely after playing a Shared Memory in Aviary Village if the Memory had an instrument playing a sustained note.
- Fixed a bug with notifications that said a Shared Memory had been liked, regardless of what kind of Player Creation had actually been liked.
- “More” button displays correctly when more than 12 comments are posted to a Player Creation.
- No more surprise teleports to Aviary Village when positioning your Sky kid behind your Nest’s edit crystal.
- Fixed a bug that allowed more props to be placed in a Nest than there was space for.
- Props in your inventory won’t be greyed out before Nest capacity is almost full.
- While viewing a friend’s star, the pencil icon will no longer disappear when displaying their name when it has over a certain number of characters.
- UI & interacting buttons from the environment will no longer go missing when the player transitions levels while News is open.
- Fixed duplicate prop icons that could appear briefly when cancelling edit in the Emote Favorites menu.
- Fixed a bug preventing players from scrolling through the gameplay tips while using a controller.
- Fixed different fonts being used in chat text vs. Player Creation text when device is set to Japanese
- We’re not sure how it would make sense to use the handstand emote while swimming… But players who had been doing that will now find that their Sky kid won’t be subjected to an odd animation in the process. Well, more odd than doing a handstand while swimming, at any rate.
- Fixed animation bugs that could affect the somersault emote in certain cases.
- Fixed animation error causing avatars to overlap when a player accepted the carry interaction from a friend.
- Resolved weird avatar twisting during carryball Spirit memory quests.
- Various fixes for various Season of Moomin quests:
- Fixed crashes that could happen when teleporting to the Moomin Storybook area from the Moomin Guide’s Friendship Tree.
- Fixed a crash that could happen when teleporting back to the first or sixth Season of Moomin quests.
- Improved Spanish localization for the first Season of Moomin quest title.
- Fixed a German localization error during the first Season of Moomin Quest.
- Fixed a bug in the fifth Moomin Seasonal quest that could turn a player invisible.
- Fixed bug that could cause soft locks during the fifth Moomin Storybook Quest.
- Accessing the fifth Moomin Storybook quest won’t return player to the sixth Storybook quest.
- Fixed bugged audio of wind blowing during the sixth Moomin Seasonal Quest.
- Fixed part of the credits text after the sixth Moomin Storybook quest being cut off when device language is set to Japanese.
- If a player scans a STAR pin that another player owns, the pin no longer erroneously indicates that a friend request can be sent.
- Took avatars to the chiropractor so that their spines will no longer bend inward in certain sitting positions.
- Fixed an issue for mobile players using controllers that could cause their avatar to keep moving if the player opened the News feature while moving.
- While searching for more jellyfish to befriend, the rock spotted a very curious creature! Was that…a crabbit? After following the crabbit, the rock discovered a giant room full of all kinds of treasures: books, mushrooms, and even a wonderful tea party with friends! The rock felt like a tiny pebble in comparison to the huge space, and spent days wandering, meeting new creatures, and appreciating the magic their new crabbit pal had introduced them to.

Season of Moomin Continues
More chapters of Season of Moomin are waiting for you to explore! As the remaining quests become available, check in with the Storybook Guide to experience the rest of this classic tale alongside Moominmama, Too-ticky, and Little My—not to mention Ninny and the rest of the Moomin family.
While the Season continues, be sure to unlock themed hairstyles, capes, outfits, and more. These are available in the Storybook Guide’s area, which you can access by talking to the Guide when you see them in Aviary Village or Home.
With this update, a new cape will appear in the in-game shop after completing the final Seasonal Quest, which becomes available on December 9th:
- Moominmamma’s Masterpiece cape: $24.99 (all prices USD)
As part of this special collaboration, this cape comes with the ability to teleport to the inside of a special version of the Moominvalley house! The ability can be activated after completing all six Seasonal Quests. Although the Moomin family and their friends won’t be home during your visit, you can bring your friends with you and explore the space together as Sky kids.
Moominmamma’s Masterpiece cape and other special collaboration in-app purchases will be available only during the Season and are not currently planned to return once it concludes. If you see something you’d like, be sure to check the in-game store and the Storybook Guide’s area before the Season ends!
As for the emote and the two items available in the Storybook Guide’s Friendship Tree in exchange for regular Candles, these are planned to continue to be available after the Season ends.
Season of Moomin continues until 23:59 December 29th (all times PST, UTC -8).
Days of Music Echoes in the Realms
From November 25th through December 8th Pacific time, Days of Music returns! This year’s event brings a suite of updates, with activities, features, and more inviting you to share music in brand new ways.
Talk to the event guide Spirit in Aviary Village or Home. They’ll teleport you to stages across the realms.* Each location provides a unique prompt to create a song to share with others, as simple or intricate as you’d like. Choose from one of the instruments provided nearby, and then record your tune using a Shared Memory.
It’s the perfect opportunity to listen to other players’ creations, too! Browse through the other Shared Memories at the stage and you may even find inspiration for the next song you compose.
Four event currency can be forged each day from event currency Light. This can be gathered as you take part in the event’s activities. Plus, 15 bonus event currency will be placed around Aviary Village for the duration of the event, so no need to hurry to find them on the first day (keep your eye out for musical symbols)!
Days of Music will feature new items plus mementos returning from previous years. New items available during the event are:
- Marching Band Cape: 50 event currency
- Music Marching Uniform outfit: $9.99
These next two items will be introduced when Days of Music starts, and they’ll remain permanently available to unlock or purchase in Harmony Hall even after the event ends:
- Jam Station: 250 Candles
- Fledgling Upright Piano: $4.99
- This piano appears in the prop category, which means that other players will be able to try it if you place it somewhere such as your Nest.
For details on returning Days of Music items, please refer to patch notes from previous years. As for items originally introduced for event currency, the Marching Band hat and saxophone will be 55 and 125 Candles respectively; the Marching Band hat will be available only during the event, but the saxophone will remain in Harmony Hall permanently. Free trial spells for all items can be found in Harmony Hall.
Speaking of the Jam Station: This item offers a TON of new features to enjoy! It offers a default instrument for each of its four parts, and every other instrument you already have in your closet are options to choose for each part too (the exception to this are instruments that are categorized as a placeable, like Duets pianos or the Fledgling Upright piano). Instrument selections and patterns will autosave, and the updated UI makes it easier to edit each part.
There’s more packed into the Jam Stations than we can fit in the patch notes, but we can’t wait to see the performances you make with them!
(*The event guide in Home will be missing the teleport option in its Friendship Tree. This is not intended, and the teleport function will be available as intended in future events.)
Sharing Gifts During Days of Giving
From 00:00 December 9th until 23:59 December 22nd PST (UTC -8), Days of Giving returns. During this time there will be:
- Double Seasonal Light: 8 clusters of Seasonal Light can be collected in the daily realm for a total of two Seasonal Candles each day.
- Double Treasure Candles: There will be 8 locations of large Treasure Candles in the same realm each day, instead of four.
- Double Hearts: Every Heart and partial Heart gift sent during the event to a friend will be doubled.
Note: Hearts and partial Heart gifts are doubled when they’re sent during the event. If a gift is sent before Days of Giving begins but is then collected during the event, it will not be doubled. Double Hearts will not apply to Hearts sent through Player Creations.
Sky x Alice’s Wonderland Cafe: A Curious Adventure
From December 23, 2024 through January 12, 2025 get ready for a fantastical twist on Sky’s Days of Feast celebration! This special collaboration brings the magic of Alice in Wonderland to Sky with an event filled with memorable characters, stories, and surprises.
When the event begins, keep your eye out in Home and Aviary Village for a creature who’s in a hurry. Follow them to find the entrance to an all-new event area where you’ll experience Sky from a very different perspective.
Take a moment to talk with the various event Spirits there; they’ll also share some event currency Light if you help them with their requests. If you need a break from their shenanigans, their tea party offers Sky kids some Social Light, too.
In fact, five event currency can be gathered by completing the two activities with the Wonderland Cafe Spirits each day. Plus, as you explore what the area has to offer, you can find 15 bonus event currency tucked away around the Cafe. Like the bonus event currency in Days of Music, these are available during the entire event, so feel free to take your time to search for them.
Don’t forget to explore around the rest of Sky, too! Days of Feast favorites are back in places like Dreams Village, Home, and the Secret Area available from the Vault of Knowledge. So if you’ve been looking forward to being transformed into a snow kid or spending time with a favorite Spirit in the snow hut in Home, you’ll have the chance to do just that.
New items coming with Sky x Alice’s Wonderland Cafe are:
- Wonderland Stacked Hat: 18 event currency
- Wonderland Frantic Hair: 30 event currency
- Wonderland Teacup Bath prop: 36 event currency
- Wonderland Hare Hairstyle: 150 Candles
- This item will be permanently available to unlock after the event ends by traveling to the Wonderland Cafe via the Wonderland Cafe Corridor prop
- Wonderland Primrose Pinafore Set: $11.99
- Includes a hair accessory and a primrose-yellow dress inspired by the outfit Alice wore in Lewis Carroll’s classic story
- Wonderland Cafe Corridor: $19.99
- This passageway allows you to travel back to the Wonderland Cafe from everywhere but the stormiest places in Sky, even after the event ends. Once placed, the travel ability can be used by any player who interacts with it.
For details on returning items, please refer to patch notes from previous years. As for items introduced for event currency last year, the Winter Pine Cone Hairclip and Winter Feast Snowboard will be 35 and 145 Candles respectively. Free trial spells for all items are available in the Wonderland Cafe.
A Special Group of Visiting Spirits is On Its Way
A group of past Seasonal Spirits is set to arrive and add extra energy to the start of the new year!
Mark your calendars for January 13th through 26th 2025. During that time, one of the Spirits from this group will appear in Aviary Village and Home to teleport you to where they and their friends will gather. While they’re visiting, you’ll have the chance to unlock seasonal items that they brought with them during their original seasons.
New Year’s Fireworks
To celebrate the beginning of 2025, don’t miss Sky’s special fireworks show! It will be held in Home and Aviary Village starting at 02:00 December 31st (the earliest New Year, 00:00 in Kiribati), and repeating every hour until 04:00 January 1st (the latest New Year, 00:00 on Howland Island).
To enter the New Year’s fireworks show in Aviary Village, teleport from the fireworks staff. This will be available if you’ve completed the quest at the top of the Hopeful Steward’s Friendship Tree.
Watch with old friends, join with new ones, or mark the moment in whatever way is cozy to you.
Even More Updates
News in Sky
Players have shared a lot of feedback asking for ways to keep up with official news and announcements shared through blog posts and patch notes. In 0.27.5, we’re excited to start rolling out a News feature that will make these easily accessible in the game!
In this update, players on mobile platforms will find this feature in the Settings menu. Simply tap on the News icon and you’ll be able to easily scroll through Sky’s most recent blog posts and patch notes.
If you’re on Steam, Switch, or PlayStation, don’t worry, we’ll be unveiling this feature for you soon! In the meantime, we’re working on optimizing it to work smoothly and meet the unique needs of console platforms. Stay tuned for a future update!
Start Sky in Your Nest, and Other Nesting & Aviary Updates
Another feature we’re adding based on your feedback: You can now choose to start the game in your Nest! This is a quieter and calmer starting point, so you’ll still need to hop down to Aviary Village to check your Friendship Constellation and Daily Quests. Note that when you use the option in the Settings or Expression menus to teleport back to your “home base,” players with their Nest set as their starting point will be teleported to the realm portals in Aviary.
“Hop down?” you ask. “From where?” Great question—you’ll be able to hop down to Aviary Village from the cozy balcony that has also been added to Nests in this update.
Meanwhile in Aviary Village:
- The Nesting Workshop has a new prop that you can use to hang one of your masks as a wall decoration. Find it in the workshop menu under a newly updated “permanently available” selection of items that can be unlocked.
- Speaking of items in the Nesting Worskhop—the Nesting Workshop now has a section for permanent offerings in addition to a rotating items section. This will make it possible to unlock certain Nest essentials without having to wait for their rotation to come around.
- The place to pick up the daily Season Candle and Hearts gifted through Player Creations has been moved from the Friendship Shrine to the statue near the gates to the levels.
Construction Work in Aviary Village
In 0.27.5, you may notice some construction work in the area where the events workshop was. While that construction is underway, this will still be the place to go if you’d like to travel to an event area quickly—Spirits will be waiting for you here while their event is active, and they’ll offer you a teleport option. Those event locations will also be where event cosmetics can be unlocked or purchased, too.
Save Custom Chat Messages in your Emote Favorites Menu
If there’s a particular phrase you use a lot when chatting with friends, now you can add it to your emote favorites menu! Use this to quickly send custom chat messages like “Thanks!” or “Meet me back in Aviary Village,” or “No, you shouldn’t try to hug a Dark Dragon.”
Friendly Account Linking Reminder…
We have some fun stuff planned to share with you in December. On a related note, if you have a Twitch account, be sure to link it with your Sky account.
Continued Daily Quest Improvements
Along with another batch of new Daily Quests (we hope you’ve been enjoying them!), we’ve included some quality of life improvements. For example:
- In the realms, use your Sky kid’s call to reveal a radar point for Daily Quest Spirits whom you haven’t already met.
- Photo quests have a progress meter.
- When you turn in your Daily Quests to a Spirit, the icon has been updated from an exclamation mark to a checkmark.
- In Aviary Village, the Spirit behind the counter will offer you a small treat after you turn in all of your quests.
- Daily Quest list text will update with hints once you start to do them.
Improvements and Bug Fixes in this update include:
Gameplay
- Fixed a bug that was warping players to the location of the Snufkin tent prop whenever they spawned into an area.
- Fixed bug that prevented players from interacting with certain UI elements while moving the virtual joystick.
- Resolved a crash that could occur when entering edit mode at the Shared Spaces shrine in the Butterfly Fields area of Daylight Prairie.
- Fixed a bug that was changing the musical key an instrument would play in even when the background music was muted or faded.
- Updated conditions to be able to gift friends an in-app purchase; in addition to the existing pre-requisites, the giver must also have progressed to at least Valley of Triumph.
Cosmetics
- Players with short avatars or wearing the chibi mask probably noticed that several capes, namely the Duets ultimate cape, Snowflake Cape, and Mischief Gossamer Cape, had appeared strangely shrunken when equipped. These have been put through a special unshrinking process and should now appear normal again.
- All of the notes on the Passage ocarina play properly again.
- Harmonica sounds are once again consistent.
- Corrected the teal color of the tier two teal cape to more appropriately match the teal of the tier one version.
- Related known issue: The contrast between the main cape color and the border is not as distinct as it should be. This will be resolved in a future update.
- Fixed bug that caused shoe cosmetics to oddly layer on top of the Roving Snufkin Robe outfit.
- Glow spell glows the right way again.
- Improved the wooden grain texture of the Mischief Withered Horns.
- Updated the Season of Moomin scarf to reduce clipping with certain capes.
- Tweaks to the Season of Moomin bow neck accessory to reduce clipping with various capes and outfits.
General Fixes and Improvements
- Updated the description when using the “teleport home” feature to make it clearer that you’ll be returning to the realm portals in your chosen area, to avoid confusion that could arise with using the term “home” to refer to more than one area.
- Chat translations can once again be reverted in the chat log.
- In areas where there is both a Shared Memory shrine and a Spirit, the shrine no longer disappears after a player completes their memory quest.
- Flying or diving while wearing the Mischief Raven-feathered Cloak won’t leave black pixellated streaks in the sky or water.
- Fixed a bug in the outfit shop in Aviary Village that could make the Moth and Sparrow Appreciation Pack displays appear to be black or unlit.
- Fixed a bug that could prevent mobile players from using a bluetooth keyboard.
- When a nearby player who was using the reading expression exits the game, their book should no longer remain floating awkwardly in the level as it if expects you to put it away or something.
- If a players is asked to complete an in-game survey and starts to fill it out, tapping outside of the survey window should no longer cause survey results to be lost or reset.
- A blocked player’s Shared Memories, Shared Spaces, and Message Boats should no longer load into the level, even if you had selected the option to “follow”/see more of their creations.
- The warning that appears when you’ve reached the maximum capacity for a Shared Space is a bit clearer now.
- Updated the minimum distance that Player Creations can be placed from the Ancestor’s Table in the Elevated Clearing.
- Corrected a typo in the confirmation text before activating the glow spell.
- Fixed the highlight outline appearing over the play/stop button while viewing a Player Creation when the button wasn’t selected.
- Fixed a bug that skipped players directly from Home to the Valley of Triumph Coliseum area.
- Fixed the slightly disturbing issue of the Admiring Actor not really having a face under their mask.
- Additional notes: none.

- Patch notes:
Season of Moomin
Sky’s newest collaboration arrives in this update! Enter a timeless story as an invisible child meets the friendly family of Moomintrolls and struggles to emerge from the shadows of her past.
Meet the Moomins and their companions as they get to know Ninny the invisible child. As you explore the enchanting world of Tove Jansson’s classic characters, you’ll discover the ways that friendship and acceptance can restore color no matter how faded the world may seem.
To begin your journey, check in with the Moomin Storybook. This guide offers a series of quests that gradually unfold to tell the story of the Season from both the Moomins’ perspective and a Sky Child’s perspective.
Along the way you’ll have the chance to unlock themed items that reflect the Season—special outfits, capes, hairstyles, an instrument, and more!
The Moomin Storybook brings several items in their Friendship Tree: A new expression, plus an outfit and a cozy family portrait that can be unlocked for regular Candles. Season Pass holders will also have the chance to unlock three Ultimate Gifts.
In the in-game shop menu, you’ll also find special collaboration items inspired by some of the characters you’ll encounter during the Season:

Days of Mischief
First it was Dark Dragons, then it was Dark Crabs—but this year, something else altogether has been unleashed, and the Spirits in the Cackling Crab need Sky kids’ help!
The Spirits tried to summon a creature to the area above the cave, but something wasn’t quite right. Instead, something much more chaotic has appeared.
In each of the event’s three weekly phases, the Spirits will ask you to lend a hand to keep the chaos at bay. Help them take care of what they’ve brought in—on land, in the air, or even by the brooms they’ll lend you— and you can find event currency Light in the process too!
Up to 5 event currency can be forged each day by gathering event Light. That event Light can be gathered while participating in the activities the Mischief Spirits ask for your help with. Event currency can then be used to unlock this year’s new items:
- Mischief Star Sticker accessory: 16 event currency
- Mischief Cauldron: 22 event currency
- Take a sip of this cauldron’s brew to temporarily turn your Sky kid green!
- Mischief Spider Bun hairstyle: 36 event currency
These items can also be purchased:
- Mischief Raven-Feathered Cloak: $17.99
- Mischief Withered Broom: $19.99
- This prop offers your avatar a way to fly in all but the stormiest of places in the realms
Items from earlier years of Days of Mischief will be back, too, for those who are interested. For all details on older items, please check out our patch notes for the event from previous years. As for the IGC (in-game currency) items introduced last year, the Goth Garment and Goth Boots will be 58 and 38 Candles respectively, and the Crabkin Accessory will be 36 Candles.
As usual, free trial spells from all items can be found in the event shop in Aviary Village.
And of course, the Secret Area accessible from the Vault of Knowledge is open to everyone while the event is running.
Days of Mischief will run from October 21st through November 10th Pacific Time. With tricks, pranks, spells, and transformations galore, there’s plenty for everyone to enjoy during Sky’s spookiest event of the year!
New Daily Quests
0.26.5 included our first set of new Daily Quests. Now in 0.27.0, we’re including another round that we hope you’ll enjoy! Perhaps you’ll discover new ways that the Spirits of Sky are connected to the realms, and to each other.
(We’ve also included some small changes related to using the counter where these Spirits wait, which you may also notice!)
Nesting Workshop Updates
Starting in 0.27.0, when you go to unlock an item that’s available in the Nesting Workshop rotation, you can find them sold as individual items rather than in sets of two or more.
Once you unlock an item from the Nesting Workshop, it’s now also possible to get additional copies of it while editing a Shared Space. When you’ve placed all the copies you have of that item, a “+” symbol will appear on its icon if additional copies can be purchased.
We hope this makes it easier to enjoy the items you like at the pace that you want!
Twitch Account Linking
Beginning in this update, when logging into Sky, iOS and Android players will have the option to link their Sky account to a Twitch account. (If you’re on another platform, don’t worry—we’ll bring that option to more platforms in future updates!)
For more information about account linking, see our FAQ page:
https://thatgamecompany.helpshift.com/hc/en/17-sky-children-of-the-light/faq/703-how-do-i-save-my-progress
Reminder: Daylight Saving Time Ends
Daylight Saving Time ends at 2:00 am Pacific Time on Sunday November 3rd, moving clocks back an hour. Time notation for events in Sky will change from PDT (UTC -7) to PST (UTC -8).
If you are in a region that does not observe this time change, after November 3rd the daily reset will occur an hour later for you.
Other Updates
- A new type of accessories category for face items. This allows avatars to wear glasses and earrings or glasses and head accessories at the same time. We also updated the icons for some cosmetics, as well as those used for the neck accessory and head accessory categories.
- 0.27.0 includes a few more changes to the new player experience. One which players with more experience may encounter depending on how many Spirits they’ve met: If you’ve rescued a Spirit but haven’t brought them to the temple in their realm, they will now follow behind you until you bring them to their temple.Other changes include:
- Adjustments to the social space in Daylight Prairie to make it easier for new players to understand where to go.
- Move the Winged Light that was near the gate between Daylight Prairie’s Butterfly Fields and Village area; it will now be in the Daylight Prairie social area.
- In Hidden Forest, the beacon hint shows when a new player calls.
- The end of the cutscenes after completing a Spirit’s memory quest are a bit shorter.
- One of the feedback topics we’ve been hearing from the community was about the tea tables and their chat functions—namely, that it often felt confusing that chat wasn’t possible without drinking a full cup of tea from some tables but not others. From 0.27.0, chat becomes possible at any tea table after only one sip of tea.
- The “You are about to be reborn” text has been added back into the game.
- Spells activated from the emote favorites menu can now be canceled from the emote favorites menu.
- Increased the max number of spells that can be used at the same time to five.
- Thai localization has now been added.
Improvements and Bug Fixes in this update include:
Highlights
- Camera hints for Spirits’ memory quests should now only trigger if both of these conditions are met: you have not completed that Spirit’s memory quest before, and you also haven’t opted in to participate in doing that memory quest again.
- Freshly served Light goodies in the Elevated Clearing won’t sink if you don’t burn them before the Spirit brings out the next batch of goodies.
- Fixed an issue where some expressions, spells, and stances would not be saved in the emote favorites menu after the game was restarted.
- For players who have gone through Eye of Eden at least once, a Winged Light will appear near the exit of the first tunnel in Isle of Dawn.
Gameplay
- Fixed a bug with the Guide system that would prevent handholding between the guiding player and the player that requested assistance.
- When a player leading someone by handhold views a Shared Space followed by a Shared Memory, the player being led by handhold should no longer see the Shared Space pop in and out in a loop.
- Restored the ability to chat at the table near the Aviary Village archway counter once Daily Quests are completed.
- Meter that indicates how many props you can add to the Nest should be more accurate when adding or removing props.
- Fixed a bug where the shadowy creatures in the Fire Trial would turn into dark spheres if you touched them after meditating at the trial’s shrine, instead of making them disappear.
- Skipping cutscenes when reliving a Spirit’s memory in the Valley of Triumph Dreams Village should no longer relocate the player elsewhere in the level.
- Fixed a bug for Season of Remembrance quests that caused prompts to follow Spirits to their preferred location to be missing.
- Fixed a bug involving the Daily Quest counter in Aviary Village that caused Spirits a player hadn’t met yet to rotate and face them when they were interacted with.
- Some Daily Quests on specific dates were not being translated to supported languages. This should now be resolved.
- Fixed a bug that prevented the Sleepy Traveling Merchant from appearing for some players.
- In cases where copying text is not supported, the option for the copy text function has been disabled.
- Relationship menu options that are inactive due to piggyback, handholding, carry, etc. can no longer be selected. This will resolve several issues, among them an issue where players in Cradle Carry could force and be forced to hold hands with other players.
- When activating a spell, the spell description should now more accurately indicate whether it affects only you (for example, the pinwheel spell), or both yourself and friends you’re holding hands with.
- Fixed a privacy bug related to Nests: When two friends each enter their own Nests at the same time, they can no longer see any chat messages sent by the other player.
- A Winged Light should no longer appear in the wrong location for the Map Shrine in Daylight Prairie Village.
- Fixed a bug that caused the guiding beacon to appear behind you in some areas instead of appearing in front of you to guide you to where you probably actually want to go.
- Emote favorites menu will now close when you go AFK.
- When using a gamepad, a player carrying someone with piggyback is better able to move forward in a straight line.
- Controller should no longer vibrate constantly after cutscenes in the Hidden Forest Temple.
- Fixed a bug that showed certain Daily Quests at incorrect locations on the Map Shrine.
- Daily Quests can be turned in without sitting at the counter near the archway in Aviary Village.
Cosmetics
- When sitting down with the “sneak” stance while wearing the Bearhug Hermit’s cape, your avatar’s face will no longer clip through the cape.
- Resolved some shadowy texture issues when the Duets cello is equipped.
- Sky kids’ upper arms won’t deflate in certain poses when wearing the Pianist’s Flourishing suit from Season of Duets.
- Fixed a bug that could prevent plushies from being visible to other players.
- The Princess’s mask from Season of the Nine-Colored Deer fits properly when the avatar is wearing the Sunlight Beach Shorts outfit.
- Resolved a subtle but old skinning issue with some of the umbrellas causing flickering discoloration while opened, or that seemed to add random small bits of material to the umbrella itself.
- It’s no longer possible to take an in-game photo while previewing a Shared Memory that uses the photo camera prop, since this only results in a broken image.
- While under the effects of the Crab Curse Spell, using the dash movement will no longer prevent the camera props from being used after the spell has ended.
- The remaining backpacks used when wearing some props have all been updated to use the New & Improved version that has already been used for other props.
- When a player holds hands with someone and is being led by them, when they equip an instrument and then start walking, the instrument placement won’t float oddly in front of them.
- Plushies no longer jitter, and they don’t drop when flying.
General Fixes and Improvements:
- Fixed an animation bug where players could look misaligned when they used the cradle carry interaction.
- Avatars summoned from the Friend Constellation now appear properly holding out their unlit candle instead of having their arms clipping inward awkwardly.
- When the player places the Kettle prop and another player picks up the Big Manta Plush while seated at the Kettle, the plush should no longer be placed horizontally.
- Fixed the odd and frankly painful-looking contortions that could happen to Sky kids’ legs when doing flips in flight.
- When another player near you unlocks a new stance, their stance should more reliably be visible to you.
- When a friend reaches the very end of Eye of Eden with you, their hand will no longer be stuck being held above their head.
- Side hug animation should look better when swimming.
- Fixes for the orange wifi symbol sometimes showing even during a stable internet connection.
- Players should no longer be able to bypass cooldowns on props (like the fireworks staff) by spamming inputs in the favorite emotes menu.
- Plushies are for hugging, and we would be heartbroken if they were ever accidentally set on fire. So, to improve fire safety, Sky kids will no longer be able to hold a plushie at the same time they hold out a candle to offer friendship to another player.
- Fixed a bug where the confirmation menu is cut off when purchasing the Journey Pack on devices with a smaller screen.
- Memory Shrine text should no longer overlap with the AURORA concert countdown timer.
- Fixed an issue that caused UI objects to disappear when a player transitioned between levels while the Sky Codes option was open in the settings menu.
- Invited another round of Spirits to the optimization club to reduce clipping issues and avoid awkward cape placement caused by the shoulder piece, among other things. This includes several Spirits from Hidden Forest and Golden Wasteland, plus a handful of Spirits from across the other realms.
- Fixed bug affecting instrument spells where the instrument menu remained open after the spell expired.
- Fixed a visual glitch in the Aviary Village outfits area where the level would disappear based on where you were standing.
- Camera no longer randomly zooms in and out when swimming in Prairie Peaks.

- Release date: August 22nd 2024 (North America, Europe) / August 23rd 2024 (Japan)
- Patch notes:
Season of Duets
The music of the Season continues as we finally learn more about the Compassionate Cellist and the memories they hold. Be sure to check in with the Duets Guide as the last two Seasonal Quests become available in this update!
Completing the 4th quest will bring you one step closer to revealing the Season’s full story—and it will also reveal the Cellist’s Friendship Tree, which contains items that can be unlocked with regular Candles. These will continue to be available after the Season ends, just like the IGC (in-game currency) items and expressions in the Duets Guide’s tree.
What won’t be available after the Season ends, though, are the Ultimate instrument and prop that the Duets Guide offers. Season Pass holders can complete Daily Quests and gather golden Seasonal Candles to unlock your way to the Seasonal Hearts that these Ultimate Gifts require!
Season of Duets continues until 23:59 on September 29th (all times PDT, UTC -7).
By the way, related to that—
Double Light Event!
From September 9th through 15th, the realms might seem a little brighter! Keep an eye out for four extra Seasonal Candle locations in the realms, and you’ll be able to gather an additional Seasonal Candle each day.
There will also be double Treasure Candles scattered across two realms each day. Find all eight for a boost to your Candle run!
Kick Back During Days of Sunlight
Days of Sunlight is back from August 26th through September 8th (that is, starting at 00:00 on the first day and going through 23:59 on the last day—the usual start and end times for events in the game)! For two weeks, escape to the Elevated Clearing and make new memories with friends and Spirits!
Gather with the scouts or with fellow Sky kids around a cozy campfire to enjoy some toasty Light snacks (which will also feed your Candle count), or to make music with the event Spirits. If you’re looking to spend a little energy, the Elevated Clearing is practically a playground with diving boards, waterslides, and more. Plus, if you look around, you might find some baby jellyfish who could use some help to make their way through the world.
As you roam through the area, you can gather up to six event currency every day:
- 4 placed around the event space
- 2 from taking part in event activities
New Event Items
- Sunlight Manta Float: 20 event currency
- Sunlight Beach Shorts outfit: 30 event currency
- Sunlight Helios Hoops earrings: $2.99 (all prices USD)
- Sunlight Woven Wrap cape: $14.99
And yes, all items from past years will return too! It’s a pretty long list at this point, so for all details on older items, please check out our patch notes for the event from previous years. As for the beach towel capes that were event currency last year, they’ll be available for regular in-game currency (110 Candles for the yellow one, 140 Candles for the blue one, and 30 Hearts for the pink one).
Items are available in the in-game shop in the settings menu, the Aviary Village event shop, and of course from the Event Guide. Keep an eye out for trial spells in the Elevated Clearing and in the event shop, too!
New Event: Days of Moonlight
Revel in the beauty of a full moon and the light of glowing lanterns. From September 16th through 29th, a new event opens in the Crescent Oasis for Sky kids to enjoy.
Special mediation pads in Home and the Aviary Village event shop will transport you to the starry skies of the event area. There you can find a spot for hanging lanterns, where you can also try your hand at answering riddles.
You can also stop by a nearby table with snacks that will provide you with Light, too!
Five event currency are available each day:
- 3 from participating in the riddles activity
- 2 placed around the Crescent Oasis
Event items:
- Moonlight Blossom Accessory: 17 event currency
- Moonlight Lantern Decoration: 32 event currency
- Moonlight Earrings: $2.99
- Moonlight Frock and Updo: $14.99
- Includes an outfit and a hairstyle
Items can be found in the in-game shop or unlocked from the Event Guide Spirit. Don’t forget about the free trial spells for all items, which can be found in the event shop and in the Crescent Oasis.
Coming Down the Runway: Days of Style!
From September 30th through October 13th, your avatar is your canvas! The Style Guide is back, and they’re inviting you to create a unique ensemble that captures special themes to share on runways located throughout the realms.
Check with the Style Guide each day to teleport you to a fashion runway placed in one of Sky’s levels. Locations will rotate regularly, and this year will include four new locations too!
At each one, use a Shared Memory Shrine to express yourself and share your interpretation of the theme (you’ll get some Light in the process of making those Shared Memories too).
And don’t worry—each location includes a range of cosmetics you can temporarily borrow if you feel like your own closet selection doesn’t get the theme quite right.
New Event Items
- Style Darkness Fascinator: 15 event currency
- Style Dazzling Dress: 34 event currency
- Style Dapper Trio: $14.99
- This set includes a dapper-looking outfit, a tie styled after one of the realms’ creatures, and a stylish monocle.
These can be found in the Style Guide’s Friendship Tree and in the in-game shop.
As for last year’s items, they’ll all be back too—find them in the Aviary Village event shop! For extra details on those, please refer to the patch notes for Days of Style from last year.
Meanwhile, items introduced for event currency last year will be available for Candles and Hearts (72 Candles for the Style Star Sunglasses, 30 Candles for the Style Runway Mask, 13 Hearts for the Style Silk Ballet Slippers, and 12 Ascended Candles for the Style Top Hat). These can also be unlocked in the Style Guide’s Friendship Tree!
And yes, here too you’ll find free trial spells for all new and returning Days of Style items in the event shop.
New with Days of Style: event currency Light
Beginning with Days of Style, event currency can be earned incrementally, similar to how currency like regular Candles and Seasonal Candles are typically gathered.
In Days of Style this year, all event currency will be available as event currency Light. It will appear as blue orbs that are quite a bit larger than Light from Candles. It will fill up your event currency meter the way that regular Light fills your Candle meter, and you can forge a unit of currency once the meter is full.
We’re keeping it simple for this event: All event currency will be available as event currency Light, which you can find around the stage area and by viewing other player’s recordings at the event’s Shared Memories Shrine, for up to 5 event currency each day.
Meanwhile, event currency Light creates new possibilities for future events, so the team is brainstorming all kinds of ideas that we hope to share in events to come!
Season of Shattering Spirits Return for a Special Visit
The Memories of Ancient Light and Ancient Darkness will be paying a special visit to the realms!
From September 16th through 29th, the Guide from Season of Shattering will appear in Home and the Aviary Village event shop. Check with this Spirit to access the two ancient memories and unlock items originally from this Season!
You’ll also be able to access the Seasonal Quests that share memories from six different moments in the kingdom’s history, which are ordinarily available only through Shard Eruptions.
Updates to Daily Quests
During SkyFest in July, you may have seen our blog post about plans over time to update Daily Quests and other types of quests in Sky. 0.26.5 includes the first round of updates that bring Spirits back into the Daily Quests, introduce new quest activities, and add some quality of life improvements too.
0.26.5 will introduce 18 brand new Daily Quests. As you look out for them, you might notice that some of them are connected to each other…
- For these new quests, even if you forget to unlock them in Aviary Village or Home, if you interact with the Spirit in the realms who the quest is connected to, it will add the quest to your list. There will also be a popup asking if you want to start the quest now.
Some of the other changes you’ll see:
- In Aviary Village, you can get Daily Quests by talking to Spirits waiting for you at the archway counter, who will ask for your help with something that they care about. This will replace the use of the Daily Quest statue in Aviary, which will still remain to represent the Return Shrine. (There’s no change to how you’ll get Daily Quests in Home.)
- If a quest needs you to go somewhere in the realms, the location of that quest will be shown on map shrines after you pick up the quest.
- If you haven’t “met” a Daily Quest Spirit yet, it will be stationary and blue until you relive their memories out in the realms.
- For the new quests, to get your Candle you can either return to the Spirits in Aviary, the quest statue in Home, or by interacting with the Spirit in the quest level after you finish their quest.
Note that for the new quests, if you haven’t already seen the memory of the Spirit offering it, the Spirit will ask you to relive their memory before unlocking its Daily Quest. In that case, the map shrine will show you where you can do that!
Like we mentioned in the blog post, our longer term plan is to revamp and improve the entire quest system. Daily Quests will be a way to experience miniature stories and relationships with the Spirits, and ultimately connect you more closely with the world of Sky.
This is just the very first step, so we’ll have more to share in future patch notes!
Developer Note: There are so many Spirits in Sky with unique stories to tell. We’re excited to start exploring their interests, relationships, goals, and lives with some new daily quests coming out this patch. Each quest is small, to fit into the quick pace of dailies, but all together we hope to paint a fuller picture of who these characters are and what they care about. :)
Many more of these quests will be coming your way in the coming months, focusing on Spirits from other Seasons and on the core Spirits. But in the longer term beyond that, we’re taking the opportunity to make the daily quests more personal, and also to make them easier to find and play with friends. This patch has our first steps in that direction. Thank you for playing! <3
New Feature: Favoriting Emotes
There are dozens of emotes you can use to express yourself in Sky, and in 0.26.5 we’re excited to introduce a feature to make it easier to use the ones you like best!
Access this new favorites menu in a few different ways:
- In the main Expression menu for a one-time tutorial (more on that in a second)
- By pressing and holding on the cape meter
- Pressing Z on your keyboard or pressing the middle mouse button
- Pressing L2 on your controller.
This will display a wheel with slots for eight actions from the expression menu, and you’ll be able to add or remove any expression (or more) that you want for a slot.
When you first log into Sky after downloading this update, a star button will appear in the Expression menu. Tap it for a quick explanation of how to use the feature. It will disappear after finishing the tutorial. (For brand new players, this will appear once they reach Vault of Knowledge.)
This feature should make it easier to spam your favorite emotes, prepare your best dance moves, or even choreograph your next Shared Memory!
New Feature: Unfriending in the Friendship Constellation
The Friendship Constellation is a record of all the connections we’ve made in Sky. Sometimes though, it’s helpful to be able to adjust our Constellations, particularly if we play with some Sky kids less often than we used to, or if we want to be able to welcome new friends into a crowded Constellation.
This update introduces a function that allows players to unfriend someone while viewing their avatar in the Friendship Constellation. This works differently from blocking, which prevents the blocked player from interacting with the person who blocked them, for example.
With unfriending:
- The unfriended player is removed from your Constellation.
- All relationship abilities between you and the other person are disabled (including chat).
- It’s possible to meet someone you unfriended. If that happens, you and the unfriended player will appear as strangers to each other if you meet again in-game.
- If you light their avatar, there will be an icon over their head to indicate that they are someone you unfriended.
If you meet someone you unfriended, both of you have the option of rekindling your friendship at no additional Candle cost. All previously unlocked relationship abilities will be restored.
Other Updates
- Cutscene autoskip toggle: This option to automatically skip cutscenes has been added to the settings menu under the graphics option. When it’s enabled, skippable cutscenes will automatically be skipped as long as the player has watched them at least once before.
Cutscenes that can’t be automatically skipped are typically the kind that lead to a physical change in the world—for example, a door opening. In that case, players will keep control of the camera while the door opens according to the normal laws of physics instead of flashing open from one frame to the next.
If you have feedback about the cutscene autoskip toggle, please share it with us in our feedback channel on Discord or comments in our feedback threads in our official Facebook group!- The team recently began working on a project that will ultimately allow us to get updates and fixes to players more quickly. This is still a work in progress, but in some cases, it may result in this message when starting the game: “Downloading latest content.” That’s related to the project that the team is working on, so it isn’t a bug.
Improvements and Bug Fixes in this update include:
Highlights
- As part of the Daily Quest updates, quest progress updates will now show up during cutscenes, if applicable. The full list of all daily quests will remain hidden.
- The rest of the Light treats that the Spirit gives in the Elevated Clearing have come back down to earth so that Sky Children can easily gather them again.
- When using a controller, now the Friendship Menu and the prompts to hold a friend’s hand or to follow them take priority over other interaction prompts.
- Opening an umbrella while being carried should now protect both the carried player and the person carrying them from rain damage.
- Using the Wind Paths to reach Hermit Valley should no longer bounce you back into the level you came from.
Gameplay
- Fixed a bug that was draining the breath meter and energy from AFK players being carried by piggyback while underwater.
- Spamming handhold in Vault of Knowledge should no longer cause players to sink below the floor.
- Fixed a crash that could occur in Harmony Hall when initiating a jam session.
- Music can be very entrancing, but not so entrancing that it leads to bugs like the one that prevented Dark Crabs from attacking players who were playing instruments while seated—so that bug’s been fixed.
- Festival tech reaction menu won’t show up when a fullscreen menu is visible.
- Fixed a bug that could prevent a player from renaming a recently added friend, or from properly using the handhold, carry, and cradle carry interactions.
- UI for viewing Player Creations should appear when you are viewing them alongside/”over the shoulder” of a friend who’s also viewing them.
- Updated the bass part in the Duets music sheet to be one octave higher to improve the music when being played.
- For new players: The Aviary Village Spell shop should no longer be accessible before the entrance is unblocked.
- When the hint text after the Elder cutscene in Prairie Temple shows how to make a big call, making a regular (small) call will no longer circumvent the tutorial and potentially mislead new players.
- Another bug that could similarly impact new players: Fixed a bug during the big call tutorial that shows new players how butterflies can help them fly, which allowed the player to move if they had the expression menu open.
Cosmetics
- Duet Guide’s suit tailcoat outfit won’t look deformed when you kneel.
- Resolved the SkyFest wireframe cape clipping with avatar’s neck.
- After riding the snowboard to transition out of one area or level, you won’t be standing on an invisible platform when you appear in the next one.
- Nearby players should no longer see the snowboard disconnected from the feet of the player who’s riding the snowboard.
- We reminded the Ultimate Gift lantern from Season of Remembrance that no one’s light is diminished when others—or their candles—are allowed to shine. As a result, we resolved cases where placing and then lighting the Ultimate Gift lantern would temporarily prevent players in the level from being able to take out their candle.
- Fixed the slow slide animation that occurred from a player’s perspective when someone else sat down on a nearby prop.
General Fixes and Improvements:
- If you have set Aviary Village as your loading point and are in Aviary Village, the settings menu will not display the “Return Home” option. The same applies for players in Home who have set that as their loading point.
- The text displaying your Winged Light count is now bold, and the appearance of wedges in the energy meter has been updated.
- Fixed issues with the player’s reflection during a specific sequence during Season of Duets’ third quest.
- Sky children will properly walk after using the cello or violin instruments via the instrument rack, instead of gliding oddly over the ground.
- During the first Season of Duets quest, instruments with sustain should no longer hold that sustain when you swap to a different instrument.
- Restored the missing sound effect when interacting with the hammer icon while editing a Shared Space.
- Avatar won’t randomly jitter while using the Candle Trick Spell.
- Players using the carry interaction while under the effects of huge, grow, shrink, or tiny spells should not clip into each other as much as they used to (there may still be a bit of clipping, due to strange bending of the laws of Sky physics that occurs when such powerful magic is used).
- Avatar won’t contort during the “Exhale Inhale” song in the AURORA Concert.
- Reduced particles on the tree in Crescent Oasis to improve frame rate on certain devices.
- When in photo mode, legends should respect the HUD margins better than before.
- After sending a gift of Light to a friend who is online, the icon to send a Light gift will stop displaying.
- Wi-fi symbol should no longer interfere with text hints at the bottom of the screen.
- Fixed a bug with the map shrine where zooming in on the beacon icon on a map and then selecting the beacon would have no effect.
- Haptic feedback will no longer occur when crabs attack another player, and will only occur when you are attacked.
- Fixed cases where the UI buttons for screenshot, record video, and chat would still appear on the screen after signing out on platforms that support signing out of a Sky account.
- Increased the distance that the grand piano can be heard from when someone else is playing it, so that now it can be heard throughout the concert hall if someone’s playing it onstage, appropriately enough.
- Fixed bug that automatically translated all text when viewing Player Creations.
- Updated the placement of the Support icon in the Settings menu.
- Additional notes: none.
