The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Latest official blog post (DLC Pack 1)

Today, Nintendo published a blog post about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the official blog of the Legend of Zelda portal in Japan. This time, the post is from Kentaro Tominaga, Game Designer and Director of the DLC. He’s here to talk about the first DLC pack (the Master Trials, now available).

This DLC includes content for players who are still playing the game, but also those who have already completed it, and are looking for a challenge.

Among the various features and pieces of contents found in this DLC Pack, there’s one Kentaro Tominaga personally recommends: the second playthrough in Master Mode. In this mode, all enemies are ranked up, and therefore represent a much tougher challenge.

He explains that Master Mode isn’t just a harder difficulty mode: there’s also enemies that don’t appear in normal mode, spicing things up even more. You will need all the experience, skills, and knownledge acquired during your first playthrough to make it through Master Mode.

Another new element from Master Mode: there’s now enemies and chests… in the sky! You can actually use those floating platforms to your advantage, and restore your stamina wheel mid-flight.

Kentaro Tominaga is convinced that even if you’ve already beaten the game once, there must still be many things you never noticed or see in the world. He also recommends changing the order in which you visit locations, to give you a different impression of Hyrule.

Now that the first DLC pack is out, the team is hard at work on the second one, called The Champion’s Ballad. It will be released this holiday, with the exact date to be announced later. The team’s goal with both DLC packs is to make sure players can explore the game’s world even longer.
